@MickeyMouseBrat , Hello im watching this video you previously commented on. You asked if the owner was willing to sell his Alliance Auto Tenna-Rotor. Now this was 2 years ago, but ive got one, Are you still looking to purchase one?
I wonder how many million of these have been sold? In the midwest, that is what everyone installed with their tv antenna. They made good rotors, too, for use on lightweight ham antennas. 73 Frank
The antennas on top of our house have always been spun by Alliance tenna rotors. We really haven't had many problems with them, just the occasional need to re-align the control box and the motor. I only wish that the control box wasn't so loud.
I'm in the process of replacing the rusted bolts on a few motors I have in the basement.
You will have problems stopping the antenna array or keeping it from moving due to no brake in the rotor. It doesn't take much horizontal weight to turn this rotor when its not "energized". It will work well with a small beam, especially if the antenna is well balanced. (weight wise) 73 de w4cgr
Hi there, the rotor is indeed weak, and sure it will move a VHF/UHF small beam for satellite work. The brake is fine, the motor turns the rotor thru a worm type gear and it will destroy the gears before it moves. 73 Rod
That's the same kind of rotor we used to have back before we had cable.

LOL. That is just a piece of wire to show the rotor movement...

I wish they made one for a two inch boom and would turn a set of 11 meter beams. Then I would only need one coax and one swr problem.
