this kind of water well is not known abroad. the small hole on top is just the entrance. it have to be small otherwise people or animals will fall into it :) below this stone or lid there is a concrete-tube (or just an excavation) with 3 to 5 feet in diameter. the well could be from 10 to 30 feet deep, depending on the water. the worker is actually drilling in this tube. we did that with a pneumatic hammer. quite loud in there as you can imagine :)
