@Jasper2428 its true, you have to take in to consideration that lings are melee units and marines are ranged, also, think about prodcution costs and what not, to have more than i think 10 lings (if were talking brood war) spawning youd need an extra hatch, thats 300 mins, thats two barracks, also, zerg is very set on risk vs reward, since all of their units are made from larvae, you have to know when to make workers or combat units, as opposed to terran just queuing up a billion units

Fire is great and roasting lings, but I wouldn't send an army of bats against hydras or lurks. Rhines are easily one of the most powerful units in the game, they are cheap and quick to produce, they have range, can be healed quickly by medics, can hit both ground and air units, and have a wonderful perk called Stimpack. Zerg are fucked unless they know how to properly counter.

Z erg want to attack protoss because overmind wants to complete xelnaga goal of fusing the 2 races. But the overmind believes they are too weak so they attack the terran to get some psionic genes incorporated to fight the toss. The toss burn any terran planet that has been infested. THe terran are just trying to survive.
