The Great Basin is beautiful, especially during Spring. I spent a lot of time in E. Central NV, near Mt. Wheeler - incredible country. The ecosystems - from desert, dune, alkali flats, scrub, fresh water springs, creeks and small lakes, ghost towns and old ranches, low hills, and alpine terrain - their history, and the regional climate and wildlife of the terrain, are absolutely breathtaking.
