I love makoto`s fighting style. Its way more like karate then Ken`s, Ryu`s and all of those other so called "shotos" fighting style. Real karate is just like Makoto`s style. Fast, forward and no holding back. You commit to every strike and maybe you get countered, maybe you dont, but you make for damn sure that that strike knocks the shit out of your opponent or ends the fight.

Makoto`s got bigger stones then any male SF character and she only has a pair of x chromosomes. Thats why shes a boss.

2. Yes. Ken is defined by Ryu. He started as a palette swap, he still has the same moves, his motivation in SFIV and SFA is wanting to fight Ryu, and in SF3 he quits the tourney when he finds out Ryu has already left.

3. No, Gouken (with a u) doesn't define Ryu. If anything, Ryu defines Gouken.
