it's tragic news- dana finds out she has cancer and the tension builds up on dana and lara's relationship, cause lara can't seem to do anything right,dana struggles with what is going on and takes it out on lara,then, dana asks lara to leave, and she does..to Paris..meanwhile, dana's condition takes a turn for the worst and while lara phones to say she wants to come home,dana's in hospital- and sadly dies. I'm not sure if Lara and Dana actually broke up officially..but yeah, it's sad

The first time, it was because Dana was too scared to come out. The second time was because Dana well actually, that might be a spoiler for some people, but Dana was having trouble with dealing with something and took it out on Lara.

so, SPOILERS if you dont want to know... dana ends up getting breast cancer while she's with lara which is life altering and so she takes it out on her and eventually asks her to leave cause she doesn't want her around for it. thats when alice comes in to take care of her, but (BIG SPOILER) dana dies before anything romantic happens between her and alice and before lara even comes back.
