Guys is EVE online worth it? and does it cost allot to play? I played the X games and loved them and from what I heard that they are similar to EVE with EVE being online instaid.

@DK988 It deffinitely is. Costs 15 bucks a month, or I think about 450 million ISK (not much after a few months).

But I have to warn you. PVP is with one exeption always allowed. Highsec areas aren't safe just safter than lowsec.

@DK988 Wrong. Unless you have some really fancy modules - which you don't at the beginning - nobody will gank you. And even then it's unlikely. There are no levels in the usual way. There are 251 skills I think which you can get to level 5, and they train in real time. So there is a cap to how much you can level a certain thing, and thus a specializing player can easily catch up to a veteran. For example, my alt char is way better skilled in Science and industry than my main.

Actually, I think I was on the other side of that bridge. That or I just had a similiar experience. Was a pos bashing bs gang and a cloaky dropped a cyno on us. We all shat our pants when an erebus jumped through but there was only a small support fleet of the people that were already in the system. We tried to kill it but we weren't set up right to tank a dd. A rag jumped in 15 mins later n then a huge ass fleet showed up and those that were left were forced to scatter and run the fuck away.

@kikiliop the big ship (titan) is meant to get all of the smaller ships to a system were theres alot of enemies and it accidently jumped to the system rather than get those smaller ships there and btw that big ship takes oh about 1-3 months to build. See eve logic for dumbies

Hahahah, this is a really good example as to why EvE > WoW.

In wow, they become "slightly" upset that Leeroy... well, Leeroys it up. However this has little consequence, they can just go back and try again. And even in the event they win next time, nothing really changes.

In Eve, that titan could have been lost, resulting in a major blow to the entire alliance, or saved, resulting in a close call some well expected bitching, and possibly the continued existance of said alliance.

@MrAsmil it's simple. They were all gathered around the Erebus waiting for a bridge. Once the remote cyno is up, the titan pilot can either jump itself to the cyno or open a bridge to it. The two options are in the same contextual menu. He miss-clicked jump instead of bridge... Hilarity ensued.
