Was it the Ritz Brothers that did a song on roller skates in the movie "Silk Stockings" with Cyd Charice? something about "When we get back to Siberia, to Siber-i-er-ie-irea....
Does anyone have that--please put it on if you do. They were wonderful --whoever they were!
The reason the Ritz Brothers never reached the heights, much less cult status, is because you couldn't tell them apart, much different from all other comedy teams. the Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, Abbot and Costello, Martin and Lewis, all of them. Too bad, because they had a zaniness of their own.
The Ritz Brothers were so funny that the crew would crack up at their ad libs and they'd have to reshoot the scene. If anybody has a copy of "North Pole Hotel" I'd love to see it. Hot and cold running seals. OMG.
@CaptEoNinja83 This is from the 1937 movie "On the Avenue". It is a fairly mediocre movie, and the Ritz Brothers don't really have big parts in it, but when they appear, they are hilarious.
No wonder Tony Montanaro so respected the work of the Ritz Brothers. Watching this clip is a course in zany to be cherished and ....who knows what...it's in your hands...
