HEY JESSICA, your a dumb liberal bitch wiht a big mouth...Police don't do shit wihtout a reason, if you had fo.lowed certain insturction, this would not have happened....You bitch about shit you dont even understand and I hope u die a slow painfull death..Sure there is some bad shit happeneing around the country wiht cops, there are 800K cops in this country, and maybe 10 insidents a year where shit reall goes wrong...But for 99.99 percent of the time, dumb liberals are at fault, get a job
I have a job, and don't go on YouTube making comments about videos all day. But, since I'm a liberal bitch, I'll tell you this: you're right, most cops are good, and provide a real service that I appreciate. I think they're underpaid and overworked. But there is no true recourse for citizens who run into the "bad apples" out there. This particular cop actually has a history of abuse, but he still has a job. So, you're the one bitching about stuff you don't understand or care to research.
I have been on boths sides, I have walked miles in their shoes and the shoes got ripped pretty bad so I dont wear them anymore because of all the bullshit...What I see in this video is just some chick who is refusing to follow a lawfull comand of a police officers and get arrested, there is not excessive use of force, he pushed you back wiht hit baton just the way he was trained to do and the rest got u into custody...If you had followed their comands this would not happen, it is YOUR fault..
So, the video pans away when he plants me with a blow to the leg that left an 8 inch bruise on my leg, but you wouldn't know that because you didn't read the whole story. And he never gave me an order, he just started hitting me in the chest. So, if you think a man twice my size can't restrain me without physical violence, you're not on my side, and that's too bad. I didn't break any laws, I was in the "wrong place at the wrong time" and that happens way more than 10 times a year.
These cops are acting lilke a bunch of NAZI THUGS. It is becoming policy for these IDIOTS. If you hit someone too hard, better arrest them, and they are getting out of hand.
Right here in Austin, a constable tased a 72 year old grandma, then the NAZI THUG arrests her. For what? Not signing a speeding ticket.
We have the FREEDOM OF SPEECH, and cops are not allowed to just beat on people when they don't like what we say. That's FASCISM.
Hi Jessica, sorry that happened I believe they were at fault cause I think i saw them using tasers at you, well they first clubbed you but they shouldnt use their weapons you were not even armed, they usually do it when someone is armed. If I was you I would sew them no matter what. They shouldnt of done that, there was no riot at your side. They used force at the whole crowd some guy went to help you but the cop didnt let him. I think you should sew. You did not use force as seen on the video.
i read pretty much all the comments and replys... u changed ur story alot of how he hit you and where....also u struggled and were also intoxicated....if you struggle at all wen an authority is doing something like this...they have the right to arrest you also there are many signs of threat for an officer to take offensive even if at the time it seems unresonable you have to coporate and also with wat other people said u called someone a wife beater....replaying to mettafirerescue
I don't see where you're getting that I changed my story. I also don't know where you get the idea that me struggling gives the police the "right to arrest me". Seems to me that your knowledge of the law is right on par with your knowledge of grammar and the English language.
@skatexsjado9 you fuckin communist motherfucker theres crazy drunk girls in the world but let me tell somethin.. i will show sober what a 3 cops did plus one.. if your still in the austin area id like to smash your fuckin face
this is not brutallity... Just because a woman has been arested... shit she was giving them a hard time. Now brutall is seeing a 11yr old Kid beat by more than one cop and yessss he's black
Ummm, I guess you didn't read about how I got taken down with a billy club to the leg which left an 8 inch bruise on my thigh... And you probably missed how my friend was tasered 5 times that night. And if you didn't read about that, you definitely didn't read about the other guy who was hospitalized after being kicked in the eye. I'm sorry you saw an 11 yr old boy being beaten, and I hope you realize it's a systemic problem, not an isolated incident.
And your comment is really intelligent. Because I put my arms in the air, I deserve to be beaten by a police officer twice my size. I'm just saying you sound like someone who condones violence against women if they "ask for it."
In the opening of the video, your hands are up and you look to be provoking the officers. Im not saying what did or didnt happen, but as an outsider just seeing this video, you dont look completely innocent to me. If they abused you, they should be brought to justice. If you provoked them, you got what you deserved.
I was there. this is where all the police brutality started in Austin on a large scale. Since this incident, A.P.D. has been given permission to do anything to anyone they like "in the name of the law".
I watched this happen, because I've told the story about you and your friends many times.
I was in the alley along with the rest of the bouncers who worked for me, watching this go on in front of Texture.
While I think the one cop who took such a hard swing (and missed) that he slipped was ridiculous, you guys were trying to face off a team of angry cops with riot shields. And if you hadn't noticed anywhere else, it was a riot going on and there was pandemonium everywhere.
We didn't notice "riots" going on elsewhere, we were inside Texture until 2:30ish and came out to this. If you remember there was construction on 5th, so we were basically trapped between the police & a construction fence. When my friend tried to ask the police which way to go catch a cab, they pepper sprayed him. That led to another friend asking for badge numbers, followed by him getting sprayed and tasered 5 times, followed by this.
see how the bitch enver asnwere you....becasue she can't... TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR FUCKING ACTIONS, no one will harm you if you COMPLY WIHT A FUCKIN LAWFUL ORDER, you fucking liberal idiots, you retards are full of pot and cant think straight, your are aggitators and whinner, you dont contribute to society AT ALL.
Funny thing, you can't press charges against a police officer. I tried fighting my charge, but another funny thing, you don't get to choose your jury in a misdemeanor case (at least not in texas). My jury was 6 men out of 7 jurors, full of former military men, correction officers, etc. I talked to the ACLU and they wanted to get a class action suit together, but no one wanted to pursue it. My only course of action now would be a federal civil suit, and I don't have the money to pursue that.
You say being drunk isn't a crime, technically that is incorrect, most states have public intoxication laws. Secondly, you say that the officer gave you a command, which you ignored, what was the command? If an officer gives you a command (as writen in IL state statutes) you are required to follow it, especially as it pertains to this situation, short of him telling you to get buck nekid, you probably should have listened and saved you from getting a bruise.
True, there are public intoxication laws, but I wasn't arrested for being drunk. They gave me the charge of "Failure to obey a lawful order." The officer that hit me did NOT give me a command, another officer who was standing about 30 feet away said "get back" and they all charged. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, true. The bruise was about the size of a football; do you think that was really necessary?
You don't approach police when they are coming at you with riot gear on. All a person needs is common sense but people seem to lose that after several alcoholic drinks.
True, if I had not been intoxicated, I would not have approached them. Also, if they had not just beaten my friend up and shocked him with a taser five times, I would not felt the need to say something. But the real question is, what the hell were they doing in riot gear in the first place? Did they really need to use as much force as they did? Police handle plenty of drunk people without violence during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. APD was on a POWER TRIP that night.
Hey jessicamtx, sorry that happened to you. I was out there on the same night and it sucked!! there were many cops there and you could just tell they were itching for something to go wrong. We didnt stay to long cause we knew something bad was gonna happen from how the crowd was, too ignorant...hope you're Ok, stay safe!
You know if you don't go out and get drunk and act like an ass when the nice police officer asks you to follow a simple command, you don't get thrown to the ground. From what I can see, you put up a pretty good struggle. I can only imagine that if you had just cooperated it wouldn't have been so bad for you. Grow up!!
Actually, the not so nice police officer never gave me a command, he just started hitting me in the chest with his nightclub. AND, just because a police officer tells you to do something doesn't mean it's a lawful command. The only struggle I put up was screaming "NO" at the top of my lungs and covering my face because I was afraid he was going to hit me. This is exactly how civil liberties get eroded. You grow up.
BTW, check back for more footage that will put this act of violence in context. I wasn't the only person with injuries. I also have footage of a man who was HOSPITALIZED for requesting a badge number (not drunk). I'm working on blurring his face to protect his identity as I have no way of contacting him and wish to protect his privacy.
So you got drunk and got thrown in jail for the night. This isn't some big JFK assasination conspiracy. I actually might have had some sympathy for you, but when you said you were drunk, that possibility was gone.
I'm hardly claiming a conspiracy. The fact is that I was unarmed, hardly a threat to this police officer but was still struck 3 times in the chest and beaten with a club that left a 20cm bruise on my thigh. I don't call that serving and protecting. Officer Thomas Hardies also has a history of this type of behavior. He has had two separate complaints of excessive force, the last being to a woman he pulled over for a traffic violation in 2005. Being drunk isn't a crime, but this should be.
