  • Rrally isnt that slow for base auto ,, good car for my gf , obviously type s is better but for those who are not only out for high speed want an auto good mpg sporty Honda , well here u go

    Listen to your self 46 HP is 46 more hp! The manual transmission is lighter and more entertaining to drive. U can get more than 30mpg depending on how you drive. The type s also has suspension upgrades as well so like I said before. Eww slow ass non type s.

    The base motor has better drivablility. Do you drive at high RPMs on a daily basis? Of course not.

    The Type S is really no better. It might make 46 more hp but it's higher in the rev range. Same thing with it's torque, where it's even more weak. Plus the Type S gets worse gas mileage and requires premium fuel! But you think it's superior just because it can rev higher and only has a manual gearbox... SMH.

  • well, i can deff hear the fact that u have headers but u should have gone with a k pro...its balanced more for our motor and tuned for best possible situation with a lot of maps...u should think about getting a type S dash, that's what u got and it looks way cleaner...

  • my apologies its actually 590 plus tax and no. What you do is you purchase the reflash and you send hondata your key immobilizer and ecu then they'll send it right back within 24 hours and plug and play HAVE FUN

  • The a3 doesnt do good at higher rpm. the valvetrain isnt built for high revs. id say that as long as ur not keeping it above the stock redline for a long time, then u'll be ok.. for awhile ;)

    lower compression rates, if im not mistaken hondata can raise the red line in a base up to 7.6

  • dude, first off, calm down with the cusing. and also all i said was that the this engine the k20a3 was built to stay below its redline built by ANY car manufacturer. if u think that its okay to just overrev an engine that makes, u the one with less knowledge pal! there's more than just compression b/w the S and the base bud, do ur research.

  • 1st off over rev is when ur needle bounces, so clearly he is not over reaving. and yes there is more than compression rates btw engines but nothing major for 300rpm over :)

  • the engine will last as for the tranny its a matter of time... honda has always had a problem with the automatic transmissions they are junk

  • Im with MaddDogg.. should've taken that money and put it towards the Type-S. Odd.. i've got an 02 S with a AEM V2 intake and you can really hear it roar when the vtec kicks in. Guess it's the tuning on the base model's engine

  • Nope.. Not available for 05-06 yet I think. Unless if you do the same thing the 05-06 does for their ECU and get a harness. But don't quote me on that.

    I'm grabbing a reflash soon myself.. I want to redline this sucker! haha Mine would shift automatically right when the needle hits the top of the red.

  • dude i have an 06 auto rsx. how much is it to reflash the ecu? and i know it voids the warranty, but is it still street legal after a reflash?

  • it cost me $600 for the reflash. It is definately street legal. Unforunately i dont think the reflash is available to the 05-06 Base Models, both auto and manual

  • So I don't get it. Do you even have to shift. Or are u just flooring it, and it's automatically going 1, 2, 3, etc. Do you at LEAST have the tetronic type gear shift, tell me you're at least controlling the shifts SOMEHOW.

  • Yes, i was controlling the upshifts. The only way i can reach the raised rev limiter (7300) is to be in tiptronic mode allowing me to shift up manually. If i just floored it in [D] it would not go past 6800rpm
