Started well, it really did. The scene with Toby was CRYING OUT to be in the trailer. But the banging was overused (other people have made that point), and as much as I love the devil... he shouldn't be at the end of the trailer. It ruins the reveal when he does turn up- it's enough to have that blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of him in the hologram. So aye, a bit of feedback, hope it's helpful! Keep up the good work.
@masaidan Thanks for the feedback but like I have posted before this was done well over a year ago and I have learnt from the mistakes. This vid seems to be like Marmite some like it, others don't I suppose thats what happens when you try something experimental (not using music just sound fx. Try some of my other trails, your constructive criticism is refreshing.
@DestinysElected Yeah I see your point. This was done a while ago, try my Version of End of Time it has simular themes (banging etc) but I learnt from my mistakes.
u know I only just realised that this episode aired the same year as that remake of the Omen film. do u think that was deliberate? I know which 1 I'd rather see. this actually the Satan Pit more than alot of other stories is what made me really realise how awsome the Doctor really is. I mean he beat the Devil. He. 1 guy. beat, totally, and utterly, the DEVIL, the ultimate personification of evil. The guys from the Omen shoulda just called in the Dr.
@orbital151 My god dont watch the Idiots Lantern just as your gonna meet your maker, your gonna die so disappointed. Watch Sapphire and Steels Assighnment 4 instead (which is where the writer nicked his ideas) its phenomenly better.
@cbatt91337 Now now 2 b fair its a good ep in its own way. yes, not the 1 I'd choose to go out on but good nonetheless, but it was cursed with falling smack bang inbtwn 2 two-parters
@227060 OK ive seen worse than the idiots lantern but it is certainly not as good as The Unquiet Dead (also written by Mark Gatiss) unfortunately Mark has not improved on that particular story the last Daleks script he wrote was so bad. Although it was lumbered with the New Daleks which are particulally awful.
@cbatt91337 Yes I agree that was a black mark on his record and a shame for his 1st Dalek story. I think it had alot of responsibilites which didn't help, but there were alot of other things which had nothing to do with the Daleks which were bad like the truly POINTLESS woman who lost her boyfriend and that random warden who NEVER SAYS A WORD. Plus the Dr and Amy came of weird in that ep. I could go on but I won't Gatiss redeemed himself with Sherlock
@227060 Sherlock was brilliant its a pity that Mr Moffat and Gatiss didnt put as much effort in the last season of Dr who which apart from eps 1,4,5 and 12 were very poor.
@cbatt91337 I think it was still good (and easily in my top 10 of TV bests this yr so far, tho End of Time is still my #1 Dr Who ep) but not as gud as prev seasons. My biggest complaint about Sherlock, not enough eps (and I'm a bit weary of Moriarty). I think Smith is good and Derville was funny as he went on. Gillan tho beautiful has yet 2 win me ovr as a companion. my top eps were 1,4,5,7,10,11,12,13 tho the sotry arc and last ep really has me confused has he 'rebooted' the Dr Who franchise???
@dalekvoyager The RTD era was very hit and miss for me when it was on form it was amazing eg Blink, Midnight and these stories, but when it was bad it stank big time eg Fear her and Evolution of the Daleks and Love and Monsters. Its the same with every era you cant have a Caves of Androzani with out a Twin Dilemma following it. Thanks for you comments Glad I creeped you out.! (in a good way)
@cbatt91337 I'm sorry my friend for me the RTD era was consitent excellence but of a varying degree. there were alot of 23 karrot gold eps, but most were 24 Karrot in my eyes. plus every ep has something good in it.
@227060 He's beaten gods, devils and eternals before and besides it was never established that it was THE devil. He was just older than the Tardis Translators. As much as I love Dr Who (all eras) Its does have its weak stories and all i was sayng is that all eras have this. The closest weve had to consistancy of good stories were Pat Troughtons second season and the first 3 seasons of Tom Baker yes there are one or two weak stories in those eras but it was mainly brilliant. RTD didnt have this.
@cbatt91337 Neither has Moffat's thus far or as u say any era. I was just saying that for me I was never disappointed except during the End of Tiume but 2 b fair that was an xmas regeneration 2 parter which saw 1 of the most popular actors for the role leaving after a year without a regular series so it was NEVER gonna live up 2 the hype was it. Rewatching I've found it to b more enjoyable.lets agree 2 disagree friend afterall we all ultimately love Dr Who
@227060 Im not knocking this era as like i said before when he was on form he was excellent but it is ironic that the weakest scripts of his era were under his name. Where when Robert Holmes was script editor his scripts stood out as classics.
@cbatt91337 I think RTD's scripts were kinda hit and miss yes but I think he gets ALOT of uncalled for criticism. Lets not forget that the industry has changed and he is conceiving pretty much the concept for EVERY episode as well as editing it aftwerwards. its a tough job and look at Moffat now. his eps were still good but not as good as int he past now he has been spread more thin. Also RTD produced some really strong scripts too along with some weaker ones and is ultimatly a great writer IMHO
Have to say I don't rate it, that sound affect that keep repeating three times is really annoying! Otherwise I do like it, not creepy so much as intreging.
I keep hearing the don't look at me voice in my head when facing Minecraft Endermen....

But seriously, I'm going to watch this episode, but after the one with weeping angels.
