Thank goodness they have outlawed tail docking - I have two cocker spaniels, one with a tail and the other without, and the one who has been docked looks mutilated. You can only see this when you see the comparison - she should have a lovely banner of a tail like the other cocker spaniel. Nature really does know best.

How come you didn't crop the tail i've heard it hurts them but im not very sure i have 2 golden cocker spaniels they are both 3 years old (21 in dog years) nd its quite adorable when they have cropped tails they have small flags which is very adorable.

@DINORAWR05 Hi there Dinorawr05, its illegal in the UK to dock the tails now, it can only be done on specific working/hunting dogs and you have to apply for a licence. I quite like the tails but sometimes they wag so much they smack you in the legs!

You have to be careful with golden cocker spaniels because they get a thing called the rage and go nuts and have to be put down to only happens to the golden ones

Im looking into getting a Cocker Spaniel, but first im learning a bit about them. Do you have any concerns about them; are they big on chewing furniture?

I think any puppy will bite furniture, shoes etc.. for about the 1st year, they do make lovely pets, great with kids and very affectionate, I would say they like lots of long walks and exercise, we kept one of the litter (hes about 9 months old now) and is a bit of a handful! he has lots and lots of energy, it depends what you are looking for...
