browne just speaks over whoever he interviews he is worse than the politicians because he is the one who is really pretending that he cares about the irish people - politicians do get into politics to do good things but people like browne just peddle the same old crap about politicians. @Sweenzer mate what you are saying is grown up and balanced but in the Ireland of today what is acceptable is fanciful waffle about "reclaiming the country" and "re imaging politics" etc. All airy fairy nonsense but it sells well among the middle classes. Spain, Greece etc did not have FF govt but share our problem which is a glut of cheap money fuelling a boom. The Euro is the problem. Not FF though that is too arcane to sell on the doors of on TV.

@Noxid666 Well I'm 18 my mum and dad are unemployed and i might not be able to afford college and either way i have no future in this country as well. The point I was trying to make is that people like Vincent Browne just do not help us in any way. And every single political party on the planet works on a buddy system. This crisis is not just a political failing, it is a failing of our whole society and the politicians in power today are not simply to blame for everything as you seem to think.

@Noxid666 Economic policies that other politicians introduced 20 years ago and were the right policies to take at the time have inevitably caused this crisis. I bet you were not complaining about our reckless tax cuts 10 years ago by McCreevy and Ahern which made every other banker, stockbroker and politician nervous. I bet you were not complaining about our massively inflated welfare packages or our systems reliance on property and credit, which is basically money that is nowhere. This

@Sweenzer what i am doing for my country is standing up and letting my voice be heard im fighting for people like you against the tyranny and stupidity of what successive FF governments, i resent my parents generation for not stopping FF madness, I am a pharmaceutical student but thanks to FF's cuts me and others cannot complete our courses, as an 18 year old i find you naive to have faith in politicians who clearly are not intouch with the people who LET them serve..

@Noxid666 Probably better off not finishing Degree anyway, Pharmacy is a dying career. Very few jobs now in Ireland (completely dead in the North), and it's set for automation (via Remote Supervision) in Britain. You'd have been better going to Art School.

Industry isn't too hot at the minute either, as a lot of The big Pharmaceutical firms aren't recruiting, due to the recession. Are you studying in Dublin? I went to Queens, though I'm considering doing something completely different, because Community is mind numbing.

Vincent is one of the worst 'journalists' at present, all he does is ask the 'controversial' questions which have negligible relevance to the topic on which the interview is being conducted. He is comparable to the worst of the tabloid newspapers, merely pandering to whatever he thinks the public wants to hear. Party politics aside, it's just straight up bad journalism and irresponsible to try and influence the public in the biased way in which he does.

I disagree. Brown puts politicians on the spot with the kinds of legitimate questions that other political journos are afraid to ask. Granted, his style is brash and he punches too hard sometimes, but I don't believe it's 'bad journalism'. He's just pushing the politicos in an attempt to generate real debate. After so many years of hearing the same political spiel being lauded out to the public by the present government, it's frankly refreshing.

Lack of professionalism. I think Irish journalists are often guilty themselves of cronyism and corruption; they get too used to their handy numbers in RTE. Perhaps thats why so many of the decent ones have left over the years for jobs in the UK and the US. Vincent Brown is simply not a credible journalist and his lack of professionalism just shines through.
