I believe that many of what paleantologists are identifying as different species of dinosaur predators are actually the same species in different stages of maturity. This looks very much like a Velociraptor. They think that young Tyrannosaurs had feathers and narrower skulls than the adults. That kind of makes sense because evolution must have been really speeding along back then with everything being as big and lush as it was.
Actually, the reason as to why I even said that, in the first place, was because Gregory S. Paul proposed an idiotic theory, back in 1988, that all deinonychosaurs (raptors) were simply different growth stages of Velociraptor. And Troodon was one of the several raptor genera that he had lumped. That's why, for a second there, I thought that you were actually Gregory S. Paul, in disguise! :D!
@49kasey i highly doubt you idiotic theory because we have found skeletons of young Utah raptor and troodon hathlings plustroodon was one of the first dinosaurs on the planet
t.rex vs troodon : i think troodon would run away it would be smart enough to velociraptor wouldnt run away it would try attacking its smart but not smart enough
They seemed to have it mixed up with Velociraptor or one of the other members of the Dromeosauridae family, in regards to it being depicted taking down prey such as young Hadrosaurs.
Troodon was more likely to hunt smaller prey such as small mammals.
What? Troodons could barely grow up to 7 feet long. They were specialized to hunt smaller prey. Do you know how massive Hadrosaurus was or how delicate Troodons were? Have you ever seen a pack of 5 foxes hunt down a grown elk?
Because it was a small, fast and lightly built animal with good eyesight. It's teeth seemed to indicate it was more of an omnivore, rather than a Velociraptor like carnivore. So when it did hunt, it hunted small prey animals.
No, no it doesn't. If you actually took some time to look at the shape of the teeth, and the jaw you would see that it implies that the animal was an more of an omnivore, rather than leading a fully active predatory lifestyle. The famous claw, on the foot, could also be very handful while climbing trees, and not just hunting prey.
First of all, Troodon was far too big to climb trees. Second of all, the teeth are sharp and have serrations on them like a steak knife that helps them slice through flesh. The retractable, sickle-shaped toe claw was used to climb larger prey, as it slashed with its hand claws and teeth. It's very clear that Troodon was a predator, easily capable of taking down prey many times larger than itself by hunting in packs.
Seriously...it was on the news...its the same with like woolly mammoths, they are using the ones they have found frozen in ice and cloning them with elephants.
I think it was on global...your probably right though....since they said they want to "try"...does not mean they are even going to come close I suppose. Its pretty messed up that they would want to though.

They were so intelligent that they had mind control.
That's how two of them could take down a bigger prey.

Two Troodons taking down a young Hadrosaur is about as realistic as two dogs taking down an elephant.

Troodons didn't hunt Hadrosaurs ever!
Popovicist 2 years ago
how do u know are you a dinosaur expert or something
BIGDlca 2 years ago
Let me paraphrase that: Troodons didn't hunt adult Hadrosaurs ever!
It doesn't take a genius to figure that a 1 meter predator couldn't take down a 9 meter multi ton herbivore.
Popovicist 2 years ago
Troodon was 3 meters long. Get your facts straight!
Utahraptor2003 1 year ago
@Utahraptor2003
And that changes what exactly?
Popovicist 1 year ago
It changes the whole battle. A pack of about 4 or 5 10-foot long Troodons could easily take on an adult hadrosaur.
Utahraptor2003 1 year ago
@Utahraptor2003

How is it an omnivore?
Utahraptor2003 1 year ago
@Utahraptor2003
Uh... I have no comment on that. Do you know why the animal was called Troodon in the first place?
Popovicist 1 year ago
Yes. It's name means "Wounding Tooth". That's why it was probably a predator.
Utahraptor2003 1 year ago
@Utahraptor2003

@Popovicist climbing prey, maybe.And bite them on the neck.
Fullmetalminos 1 year ago
@Fullmetalminos
That would be pretty risky move for an animal of it's stature. After all, there were a lot more smaller and easly killable prey around.
Popovicist 1 year ago
@Popovicist in fact,as shown in the video, they could have attacked baby dinosaurs.Maybe only the Utharaptor was able to kill in that way a big prey.
Fullmetalminos 1 year ago
@Popovicist
Actually, that wasn't an adult hadrosaur. The narrator said it was a young hadrosaur

it is because they have a large brain in their size.

trixzter03 2 years ago
Yea, they hare large brain cavities, so they are thought to be smarter then larger dinosaurs, because larger ones, have a smaller brain cavity.
