  • good video...I own a iMac 2011....the good thing is the iMac resale value

  • Is this Mac Vs PC or Mac speakers vs Klipsch speakers?

  • haha! awesome video man.

  • I agree and disagree with this vid to an extent. To someone who is not a mac user, the 'all in one' concept of an iMac may seem frustrating. The simple fact is that for most home users, Macs simply do not need to be upgraded as often to keep up with Apples changes in OS and other softwares (unlike most PC's using windows). By the time my mac is unable to handle upgrades, (it is already six years old and runs beautifully) it will most likely be ready for the trash by that time anyway!

  • @jamesham12345 i don't understand something here. i've ran windows 7 on some old machines that done surprisingly well. celeron d single cores, pentium ms, pentium 4s and pentium ds (they still needed the memory, 1gb+). the celerons and pent ms could have been better to but they worked fine. it seems when a new o/s comes out people want a new machine to but pcs in general do not need a constant upgrade to run the latest o/s. i think pc's biggest problem is it's users in general lol.

  • Speakers DEFINITELY change with age.

  • truth bro.

  • Dude. People buy macs cause they upgrade the sound, it may be good but why not go for better (and no tower is a real space saver I have my 2007 iMac sitting next to my tv on a tv table and they are both snug together neatly)

  • lets go burn hes house down rofl jk

  • i agree with u completely except i would also upgrade my graphics card

  • I agree with mrwashur1991, every one know that Mac's are more expensive than PC's, but you get what you pay for. I've got a g5 powermac which is pretty old (2007) But i am pretty certain that my G5 is still as quick as any current day PC !!!!!!!!!

  • @wavetech100

That's just ignorant. This is a processor comparison goo gl / i6KZ3 You'd need at least a 2.6 PowerPC chip to be as fast as a Core2.

  • @wavetech100 It may be as quick when using the old OS, which that powerpc chipset limits you to... I have a gaming rig that I built myself. Cost me about $1500, the equivalent from a company like dell would have been about $6000. When I upgrade this machine, it will cost me about between $500 and $750. Much better than buying a new mac pro, which starts at what, $1500?

  • this is the most pointles video...a price comparison...really? we all know macs cost more....how about how they perform against each other....that would make much more sense...

  • It was nice listening to logic! You forgot about GPU tho, if your a gamer you would def upgrade that to. Even all those 4 having to buy would still be cheaper than buying a overprice non updatable mac.

  • ok first an Imac is an all in one and it comes with a monitor in it as well as upgradable ram and hard drives, therefore your argument is completely invalid

  • @TheAppleXbox: Did you watch the video I'm responding too? No, no you didn't. Dumb.

  • @arthursucks yes I actually watched ur poor quality video were u simply compared the price of a windows desktop to an all in one imac therefor your video is invalid

  • @TheAppleXbox exactly

  • he simply is saying its cheaper to upgrade pc then mac. Its true.

  • NEW`';IPAD2:`'FREE`::SITES;'`;';

  • MAC loosers. Lolx

    PC Rulez.

    BTW Thumbs up PC Fans.

  • Haha nerds in this comment thread arguing about computers. Haha

  • You check the people you know speakers and compare them to yours? Lol

And PCs don't get slower, others get faster. If every PC in the world took 30 seconds to open Internet explorer, then a new one comes out that takes 20 seconds, the 30 second PC will be "slow as hell" and the 20 second would be "OMFG SO FAST". Same thing happens when a PC that takes 10 seconds to come out. But it will end, when it becomes instant. And that is where Mac comes in.

  • where is the comparison? this guy is a fkn idiot. lol

  • @avengful You're so wrong about that

I have an iMac 20" from 08 and I love it but all I can play is WoW and Warcraft 3(not even on high -_- )

it came with only 1gb of ram and 2.4 ghz

if I knew then what I know now about computers I would have bought a custom like I am now at the price I can have a MUCH better PC and I can just partition the drive and have MAC for my photography editing(which I can no longer do since it freezes when I edit) and Windows for my games. at a fraction of the price.

  • @LipschitzPhotography why play games on a Mac. They are multi media video and audio production computers.

  • Except;

Used macs, even 4+ years old, still maintain a significant proportion of their original value, and are easy to sell. So, you really only pay the difference to "upgrade". A 4 year old PC is virtually a doorstop (almost worthless) so you pay full pop for new.

A friend just sold his (nearly 5yr old) core duo iMac for over $500 (on ebay.) He bought a 27" iMac off apple.com's "deals" section for $1280, so his net cost was $780. You couldn't even buy a 2560X1440 IPS Monitor for $780.

  • @TheTessellator 5 years ago I spent about $200 upgrading my pentium D to a Core2Duo.

I recently upgraded my computer to a sandy bridge for about $400 with about $100 in small upgrades in between that puts the $3000 mac pro to shame.

For a net cost of $700 I have 2 pretty high end machines cause I can just overclock that old Core2Duo. And If I wanted to I have the parts to put that Pentium D to use but I don't see the point.

You can only buy outdated macs for $700.

  • you need to upgrade pc you need cpu and not always memory yes motherboard yes and Graphic Card!@!@!@!@!!@!

  • An upgrade is a realistic approach for custom builders, custom builders are hardly a majority of the market and pretty much against all regulations in the workplace.

As far as upgrades go, when it comes to portables you are pretty much stuck with what you've got no matter what the brand.

As far as quality goes apple is pretty much the last oem on the planet. I would love for there to be a linux oem that made their own rock solid drivers but so far no luck on that point.

  • i would have to disagree with you on the speakers. speakers just dont sound good no matter what otherwise we would all be using £5 ones from tesco. a PC in my eyes is upgrading your hardware to get the best possible computer experience.

  • @avengful

"But I would dual boot to play some windows games just to prove a point." What point? The point that for your "computer" to be fully functional, you need Windows on it.

    As for:

"Come on dude there's no need to cry and pout like a little girl. "

Nice attempt to deflect the question.

  • @avengful

Sorry, but no. First you would have to dual-boot into Windows anyways, completely nullifying the argument about who has the better OS. And then you would have to put your old hardware against mostly new hardware overclocked and stability tested. But please, go ahead and tell me what that pathetic aluminum box has in it, because even now Apple doesn't offer options that would touch my computer. That is, unless you want to pay about $6,000 vs the $1,500 it took to build mine.

  • @avengful

Well I'm glad you and the MacFag community are so willing to slobber all over Steve Jobs cancerous knob for doing nothing more than taking outdated hardware, charging 50% more for it, slapping an aluminum colored Apple on it, and selling it to the closest retard for double what it's actually worth. Brand loyalty is retarded, and so are you. I happen to use windows because for every program you tout on your Mac, I have about 10 more options (most free) available to me.

  • @pbmdh You are a broke ass XD

  • @maximus10463

Really, building a computer with better specs for less money obviously means I'm broke.

    You're a fucking idiot.

  • @pbmdh Brrrooooooke... hahahaha

  • @maximus10463 You're a dumbass XD

  • @avengful

PC components usually come with a 2-3 year, sometimes lifetime warranties. At least that's what mine has. And no, for most places I have seen, you can upgrade everything other than the processor in your computer. But the fact that you can (while voiding your warranty) change a component in your Mac Pro isn't that great since you don't have many options to upgrade too. If you're buying the baseline one it already has the best components Apple can supply (which suck anyways).

  • @avengful

Are you dense? Changing anything besides the RAM/Harddrive will VOID the warranty on any Apple computer, just look it up on their website jackass. I understand the difference between the Pro and the Macbook Pro. They do have one thing in common though, the outrageous price.

  • Why are you talking about your Klipsch system? Its a peripheral/accessory. Its not even part of the system.

  • @avengful

"You can upgrade RAM, graphics card, processor, everything in the Mac Pros"

    Not without voiding your warranty.

  • pc's are just more flexible for the user and upgradeable.....with macs you have to go through the hassle of selling it and buying a new one.....the biggest problem with macs is that you cannot get the hardware specs that you want...you're stuck with apple's custom built computer.

  • >I don't know any PC user who does that.

Every hipster who doesn't know shit about computers.

They just don't want to be part of the Apple stuff, but they also don't know anything and go with other people's opinions and dump their shit.

Even when it isn't completely obsolete.

Even when all the do is go on Facebook.

Even when it can do that perfectly.

  • I get your logic, It makes sense.

But another point is this. With a custom PC you can choose how much quality you want. I can buy the most expensive parts for an i7 machine or choose crap. If i chose shit RAM and a shit PSU then of course it can be cheaper. But why would i want that? Apple on the other hand has products made by Foxxcon... LMAO.. Thats a joke in itself.... pure garbage.

  • I think that Macs are more of an investment. You sell them strategically and can buy a new one for a few hundred more out of pocket. Also people who do any kind of graphic design or media (admittedly there is a huge user-base of PC people who do CG stuff) go for macs, they're more reliable and are sextastically great for a professional workflow. But theres no one computer for everyone. PC=People who like PC, Mac=People who aren't raging homosexuals.

  • @thecakeisbake Avatar was build using pc's.... look it up! PC's are actually used a lot more for 3d animation and rendering than one might think. Main reason for a Mac, is actually for the OS, I am a pc user, but I do love snow leopard.

  • Comment removed

  • What did I do when I wanted to upgrade? I sold my Macbook Pro which I bought for $2000 for $1600 on ebay and bought a new one for another $300 out of pocket. That's cheaper then what it cost me to upgrade my motherboard, processor, and RAM in the PC I built.

  • @ryanwalker2121 Lol, funny. So I guess you just transferred the HDD's from your old mac to your new one too? Or did you have to sell those with the Mac, and then store the data externally then put it onto a new HDD? Basically what you're saying is that to upgrade a Mac, I have to hope that some stooge on Ebay is willing to buy something that is outdated, non-upgradable, and overpriced? Yeah, no thanks. I'll go with my 100% upgradable PC.

  • When you say "Chip" do you mean the Processor? I would hope so. lol

Sometimes newer motherboard layouts change, and you'll need a new power supply to plug into it, but that's much more rare, especially if you shop smart and get one with the same connector. But one of the most common parts in any computer to die is the PSU. ^.^!

What version of Linux do you run? I'm quite a bit outdated- I dual-boot Linux and XP, using the XP bootloader.

Just curious, and trying to be informative. =3

  • I don't upgrade my pc, I sell it and build new one almost every year!

    This one is a I7 930, ATI 5870 1gb, 6GB corsair domonator etc..

The next one might be my first mac ever. I don't play games anymore beside blizzard's game (wow, starcraft and maybe diablo 3).

I'll see whebn the next Imac's 27 release.

For home studio (want to try logic!) and Hd camcorder this might be the time to cahnge and see if the grass is greener on the orher side!

  • good point!

mac buyers get them for the security and os

pc makers build them for the gaming and price

    thumbs up if you agree!

  • watch?v=K0FRby27S4A

  • @ep1cn00bt00b you're right, and you'll be ABSOLUTELY safe on a pc if you don't do anything stupid, that's also why mac users like pron, they are less likey to get viruses from it, damn those perverts.

  • @ep1cn00bt00b actually your sentence ''mac buyers get them for the security and os'' was sorta wrong.mac os x is actually far less secure than windows 7.secunia reported 1255+ vulnerabilities 70% of which are critical, while only 65 vulnerabilities in win7.but os x is still awesome and i think apple will patch most vulnerabilities before they're used in malicious intentions.

so mac buyers get them for safety not security, but they think it's more secure.

  • @staticrubber

I wouldn't be so sure of that. It took Apple 8 months to patch a severe Safari exploit that allowed for full hacker takeover of a Mac machine.

It's pretty bad when Apple relies on Pwn2Own hackers to learn about its own glaring security holes.

  • @ep1cn00bt00b That's right! If you like games ant stuff like that PC it's better. If you want security, good os, awesome effects, good video editing ( FC it's the best :P ) Mac it's the best;)

  • @TheGpaFilms Actually, that's wrong. One of the better special effects programs out there is Adobe AE, which runs on both a Mac and PC, but runs best on NIVIDIA GTX 430 or higher graphics cards, which you can ONLY find on PC's, as Mac only works with ATI graphics cards. Further, Premier Pro from Adobe can easily match if not beat Final Cut. Basically, a PC can work with media in GENERAL just as good, if not better than any Mac. And at a better price too. Oh, and Win7 actually works well ;-P

  • @AndrewDeLong I was a PC user for 7 years, now, I am a Mac user .... I've got my mac 2 days ago and guess what! I've falled in love with mac . The OS, everything! Mac is more... is something better!

  • @TheGpaFilms OSX is quite nice, from what I've used of it at school. Still, Win 7 is very nice too. But I digress, my problem with Mac is that for the price of a Mac Pro, I can make a PC with 3 to 4 times the hardware and capabilities. You see, when you pay for a Mac, you're paying for a name. When you customize a PC, you're getting more and paying less. Do me a favor. Customize a 6-core Mac Pro, and then make a similar PC at cyber power pc [.] com leave out all the accessories, and price it

  • You have to compare the imac to an all in one pc. if you want to compare a tower to a mac, compare it to the mac pro, which from my experience with a G5, is relatively easy to upgrade, however, i do agree that i like the flexibility of having a tower which you built yourself.

  • Not everyone has the expertise you do my friend to upgrade all the time.

  • Its called resale value. Idk what you are talking about how how Mac users throw away their macs. I have sold everyone of mine so far for around 85% of the original cost after 2-3years, plus when I do so I get the latest computer. Do you sell your used motherboard, cpu, gpu, etc? NO! Its like a used condom(You just throw it away) Your display, speakers, power supply, and you(lol) will go bad or outdate sooner or later. You also have to maintain your com, when you get a mac your buying simplicity

  • I'm sorry my friend, but "PC users" i.e. everyday computer users generally never upgrade their computer. Most computers user throw away replace their old hardware just like that. Most people don't want to be bothered with replacing parts ( Except for RAM maybe )

I have a perfectly good 21" samsung screen here, but it is shit compared to an iMac screen. The only thing that cannot be replaced by a new iMac are the speakers. Thats it. For allot of people, getting an iMac makes perfect sense.

  • has the war betwen sony and xbox ended, and started the one between pc and mac already ?:))

  • Well, some of your logic makes sense. But I have a pretty limited amount of space, I need a fast computer, and I need Logic and Final Cut Pro.. And as R3dDragon93 says, then I tend to sell my old macs and I don't spend more money on getting a completely new system, than you do getting just a new chip, motherboard and memory..

  • You speak for the minority who toy with these machines so much that yes, a PC is far cheaper because soon enough you'll always hit a brick wall with performance issues. Most people however buy a computer and are quite happy with it for up to 10 years then get a whole new one, this is where a Mac is strongest, they're generally more reliable and tend to last longer than PC's.

  • you have a very valid point, each person is different. I prefer to stick with one machine for at least 3 years before I think about upgrading. At least your not bashing Mac users because you prefer using the PC. I just prefer Macs better

  • I see where you are coming from. Good point.

  • so so you mean it better to use a pc than imac

  • Notting wrong with the whole pc shit , But windows fails , apple rocks.

  • @Amazingscar "But windows fails" - Care to give us a single example of why Windows fails?

  • @Amazingscar Apple fan boy heheheh hm...

  • theres somehting called ebay my friend.. u can sell shit there.. PLUS i dont wana wait till things DIE ON ME!!! wth is point.. i want my computer up n running all the time,, and so u know things slow down over time.. so i just dont get ur logic :)

  • @mehmetnayal

Why does your computers slow down over time?

  • @arthursucks Dude its just a fact, even if u get all the software off, your comp will just slow down over time, its impossible to deny that...

Plus the fact that you can better buy a 'complete new system' that works guaranteed, than buying 20 new custom parts and a housing for a new custom pc, because those parts are not always a good combinition...

  • @FocketOp:

"Dude its just a fact, even if u get all the software off, your comp will just slow down over time, its impossible to deny that..."

I can deny that, because it just isn't true.

  • @arthursucks Yes it is... As you put your hard drive, processor, or gpu under load it will get hot, and eventually burn out. As it does this it gets slower, hotter, and louder, because of the fan constantly running at 100%. You end up with a slow computer, that is very loud, and very hot. And also uses a lot of power to keep cool.

  • @FocketOp i agree with arthersucks, a computer will not "just slow down" it may SEEM slower COMPARED to the new hardware that has been released... but the original parts themselves will not slow down

  • Sell old, buy new perhaps.

  • Video is a moot point. Apple Soldier was comparing a totally new build, WHICH SOME PC USERS ACTUALLY LIKE TO DO. You do not represent the entire PC user base. I used a crap PC from 1998 up until last year. There were no parts to be used from that.

  • @electrickeye91 Yes YET HE ATTACKs the whole PC community. That includes PC modder enthusiasts that are not lazy assess that buys what they want to buy regardless of the price-quality factor/ratio.

  • I see your point and to be honest it is an expensive way to go, BUT, you can upgrade ram so your talking about MBoard (logic board) and CPU & Gcard.

Remember that windows 7 and vista have BIG problems with upgrades too, IE your MBoard sound is not compatible with windows7 x64bit version, now you have to upgrade your MBoard or replace external sound card and you never wanted to..

  • I agree that buying a mac and throughinh it away can sound stupid but to some people when a new apple product comes out we get really happy because we where so satisfied all the other times. I'm not saying wot u said was stupid at all I'm just saying give it a try and you might just be surprised to see how u feel then

  • I know this maybe hard for you to understand but the imac isn't just bought for performance. We buy it because we like the way the software works. Me, I personally own a very fast pc and just upgraded to mac based on a little macbook air I bought second hand and it has some really fantastic functionality that my PC doesn't deliver.

  • I agree.

  • My sweet laptop died. So i was starting from scratch. I did consider iMAC 27". But I will be going the custom way and then when my cpu is old I will buy a new one. This is what my brother has done for around 15 years. I think is a great new hobby. iMAC's are cool though it's just about WHAT DO I WANT THE COMPUTER FOR(gaming / multi-media HDMI) not video editing or downloading music or whatever other applications I am forgetting ....???

  • True but most people eventually upgrade the rest anyways. It's like buying a blue ray DVD player for a normal tube TV. Eventually you want a HD TV to go along. Most people love eye candy and want something nice to look at and end up upgrading everything anyways over time. I'm not saying everyone is like that but most people are. Why buy shinny new rims for the car and not upgrade the rest? Honestly it's what you are looking for so stop arguing about it and buy what fits you and your life style.

  • 40 year old virgin right there.

  • Your argument about the speakers is not valid. Any Mac user would who owned your speakers would not throw them away when they upgraded.

Are you using the same DVD burner always? Didn't you have to upgrade from your CDROM & CDR? SATA drives required the purchase of new disks for IDE. owners. USB made serial ports obsolete. Your using the same power supply and case standard forever?

The point is your not safe either. You cant just buy CPU, RAM, and Motherboards forever.

  • Most PC owners (schools and universities) throw their old machines away. The PC owners you know are DIY guys, thus mix and match 3rd party hardware and hope that everything works. Your probably exchanging hardware at least once every 2-3 years and your system is worth next to nothing by that time.

Macs retain their value. Have a life cycle of 5-6 years, and never have to worry about 3rd party hardware upgrade problems. It seems to me you're trapped in your PC hardware, not freed by it.

  • @Dysanfel I meant business and universities.

  • finally someone who understand >_<...good vic ^^^^

  • Had a mac

    Threw it out the window

    Got a pc

    LIFE MEANING INCREASED

  • i connect my speakers to the mac... dont get the logic.

  • I have never put a mac in the corner. I carefully watch upgrade cycles then sell before the new models come out for 80% of its new value. Plus. Windows 7? ick...

  • @ElliottHouser

Why is Windows 7 the only option?

  • @ElliottHouser

Windows 7 is not the only option? He can use, xp works just fine.

  • @NidHugg24 Just fine with a 3GB RAM limit. XP is a dead OS.

  • @ElliottHouser

I agree man. I just recently sold my my old iMac i5 chip for the new iMac i7 2.93ghz quad core. In the end I paid around $400 to upgrade. Which is about the same for PC users after they decide to upgrade the mobo, chipset, videocard.

Sorry Arthur but I am going to have to disagree with your argument. I can also guarantee you that your PC has crashed, overheated, got more viruses, and been more vulnerable to hackers then my iMac will ever see.

  • @R3dDragon93:

The upgrade path of Apples resale is actually really good. However when it comes to Desktops Apple doesn't make the hardware I want.

Your guarantee is invalid as my computer does not crash, overheat, or run Windows. Virus' effect Linux about as much as they effect OSX, almost none.

  • @R3dDragon93

Actually, on the issue of the hackers, Macs have been continuously proven to be the most susceptible to hackers. Don't believe me? See the results of the pwn2own contest for the past three years. Macs have always been the first to be hacked.

  • @R3dDragon93 Heat has nothing to do with windows vs mac? are you dumb lol? The heatsink will make the difference, I got no viruses and my windows 7 doesn'T crash because I know how to use a pc, macs are for noobs who are scared of the internet, thus can't get a pc (more performance for a lot less). You'll get viruses if you're dumb, that's all, getting viruses has nothing to do with the OS or the components, it's only up to the damn user get that in your mac fanboy head will ya?

  • @ElliottHouser

As arthursucks says, Windows 7 is one tree in a forest when it comes to operating systems you could choose. That said, i like Windows 7 more than OSX, especially because i game on my PC.

  • For starters you're forgetting that the imac isn't the only machine apple has. The mac pro tower is totally upgradeable just like its pc counterparts. The difference is the better hardware and much better software that runs smoother and has no viruses. But i guess that someone that is too close minded to even give mac a shot won't recognize it. I used pc for many, many years and about 4 years ago i bought an imac. Even to this day, my $1400 is better than all my friend's pc's performance wise

  • @mosuxbad

If you'd have taken time to actually read the title of this video, it is a response AppleSoldiers video. In his video HE compares the iMac to a custom built. At this point I think it's safe to say it would not have made much sense to talk about the Mac Pro.

You might be surprised to know this, but Intel makes the motherboards for Apple. It might also surprise you to know that Intel, made motherboards BEFORE they partnered with Apple! I'm not sure how the hardware is better...

  • @mosuxbad The hardware on a Mac isn't better than the hardware, that could be in a eventy priced Windows-based PC.. I refer to the video on my channel..

  • @mosuxbad You fanboys are brainless. I built a pc a year ago for 1100 and its components are STILL faster than the NEWEST imac for LESS. Thats a YEAR ago. Hell its still faster than a base model macpro. Go read up on hardware before you preach.

  • @DarklightRebel WOW, actually looking up on pc websites... i cant find a ips 27'' led backilight display... not to mention compromising on the os... MAKE A WINDOWS ALL IN ONE TOUCH THE IMAC... cos i can't... for shit... oh and your resale price in 5 years? 2%... ours 80%... i use both but come on... you get what you pay for with each... im sick and tired with your fucking lies... NOT TO MENTION DESIGN... and if you don't see it as a plus(helps resale) go hate on fasion... its worst... alot worst

  • @irshyusuf Your missing the point here. PC's and macs are different. Any pc I build is going to be much faster than a mac, however, it will be bigger (aside from mac pro) and its resale value will be much lower. Many people like the form and fit of the mac and thats fine but the video wasnt comparing windows all in one, it was comparing home built. Also a homebuilt can be upgraded, and an imac cant (barely). The OS is a matter of opinion. I will NEVER use closed source software. Linux is better.

  • @mosuxbad First off the Mac isn't that upgradeable. You can't upgrade the motherboard, you can't get faster RAM (you are stuck with that slow 1066 RAM) You can't upgrade the heat sink for the CPU, you can't get blu-ray, you can't get an SSD for it, and a lot of other stuff that you CAN do with a PC not from Apple. Their hardware isn't better, it has been proven over and over again from bench marks.

  • @TearsOfWar1

Not true. A DIY enthusiast can certainly can put a SSD drive in an iMac. We can also remove the DVD, put in another HD, and use an external Blue Ray player. As for benchmarks, I'll sacrifice some potential speed for a rock solid platform that runs both Windows and OSX.

  • @Dysanfel Lol bull shit. show me videos of it.

  • @mosuxbad *Inferior hardware, *Inferior Software, *There is malware for macs, you are just too incoherent to keep up to date in the tech world.

  • for the equal ammount of money you can buy better PC than mac allways ..

  • @resistanceunion IMAC i7... try... i need a decent response with the same or better specs... SAME PRICE OR LESS... oh and i want windows ultimate and a -90 dollars for ilife... TRY!

  • @irshyusuf My pc costed 900 Euro (1800$) But im planing to buy some more rams .. got only 4 gigs .. I also got i7 but that is 8 cores processor ATI 5670 1 Gig ram .. IMAC i7 is 4 core procesor 4 gigs of ram with 512 GFX card.. And Im saying the prices from European Union. Macs cost here even more than in USA.

  • @resistanceunion is that the desktop only? a monitor... maybe 27''... perhaps a wireless mouse or keyboard... oh and its a 8 core.. you heard of a virtual core DUMBASS... and so is yours... how many ram channels? any awesome speakers?... how about an amazing webcam and microphone?... oh and the best os ever with a ilife o9 package free... im just wondering now... is all that worth $300 dollars... or is apple ripping you off in the eu.. cos i come from the uk and the price is reasonable...

  • @irshyusuf Why the fuck i would need a Mouse and a Keyboard when i allrdy have a good one from my previous pc .. 2x i7 . rams with 1600MHz Clock ..

In Poland I7 MAc Costs 2000 Euro ... Soo yeah i call that a rip off. But yeah those extras you mentioned are good plus the monitor is 27 i only have 23 ..

  • iMacs are aimed at a different type of user and this video name isn't even named right, it should be called "I prefer to use a desktop PC with a tower that i can upgrade"

  • @Failinj

It's funny because this video was a response, I didn't think I'd need a new title. Obviously no one is watching the other video for context and I get a large collection of stupid responses.

  • yeah but macs are amazing and thats why we buy them...some people think theyre getting a bigger bang for their buck...but you can just buy a mac and add better hardware or better upgrades...its the same concept of unscrewing the back and switching it out just like you do on your pc..your point isnt really valid when it works both ways...and why spend all the time searching for hardware when you could just buy a mac that has everything you need unless youre a hardcore gamer who needssuperhardware

  • @mrwashur1991

The iMac is not nearly as upgradeable as a home built. Just buying a Mac doesn't work if Apple doesn't make the hardware you want. The only Mac they make that can be configured the way I want starts at 2,499. (MacPro) Why spend that when I can just spend 200-600 to get just what I want.

  • Does any of this matter either way? I agree with you in that as a PC user, I like to tinker and upgrade my computer as i see fit, but I value Macs because of the OS and overall stability and design. A Mac is a known machine, you know what you're getting when you buy it. Depending on which PC manufacturer is currently not sucking, the quality of a premade PC can vary. If you want to build, great. But I'd rather have a premade Mac over a PM PC any day. But again, does it really matter?

  • @zoator

Fair enough, but that was not the topic discussed in this video.

  • @arthursucks You're talking about upgrading, I'm talking about why upgrading really doesn't matter to most computer users. I'm a gamer, I understand the point you're making about upgrading in sections to maximize performance, but most people who buy a Mac, aren't gamers to begin with. A Mac that can consistently churn out performance for the next 3-4 years is what they want, not a beast they can upgrade here and there for what amounts to a nominal reduction in overall price.

  • I think you are totally wrong! When normal users want to upgrade, the by a entirely new machine. They don't have the knowledge of how to build a computer. For you on the other hand, i totally understand your point of view on buying a new computer. Just don't say that every PC user only upgrade parts.....

  • @tullballknull

But the original video that I'm responding to refers only to custom builders. If his video was targeted at typical users then I wouldn't have made this response.

  • thats true but what you did does not fit the title of this vid at all so thanks for wasting time u idiot

  • So what your saying. if windows 8 came out and you love it so much, and you think it looks so cool, it has alot of things you want in a computer. you will stick with windows 98 ?

People like me... would switch to mac because its something we love. something we can enjoy. something new. I want to go into iphone dev. and you can only do that on a mac. Also i love the interface.

  • Oi fatso, I want my 2:34 back..

  • TearOfWar1 i ment office, and firefox but i did not have enough characters remaining

But all in all OS x uses les resorces and for that reason you can but a super pc with windows and have it run apps just as fast if no faster on an imac except for games al those PC users can install Ubuntu and have it be faster. Maybe thats the way to go

  • I get your point, and it's true, but let's face it, MacOSX isn't as unstable as Windows... that's the key-point you missed... Good software (or OS) isn't nothing without good hard ware, but then again, good hardware isn't much good with bad software (or OS)... think of it...

  • @MPX4132: But Windows is not your only choice on a desktop. Because I build it, I can decided what software I want. My particular set up can run Windows, OSX, or Linux. I chose not to give Microsoft money and I went Linux. I've never had a more stable machine.

  • @arthursucks True, true, that I agree, that's way more intelligent than getting Windows OS, nice machine in that case...

  • fucking stupid american!

  • AppleSoldier is such a fucking moron...He can't back up his statements worth shit...

  • Damn, how can I get those 2:33 of my life back :-/

  • Also i agree sound is sound unless you have a new MB w/ optical out which makes more crisp sound then you need to upgrade spks also come on you have to upgrade hard drive Sata 1 now then it was 2 now its 3 also now you can buy SSD or Raptor 10,000 Rpm at 600GB thats worth it. DVD burners have changed i sure want a faster burner like a 24x lightscribe a new videocard Redeon 5970 all that and if u do a real world test running apps like firefox office ect runs faster on the mac only games it loses

  • @PaceyPimp What is "firefox office"?

  • Okay i do both and the truth is one advantage PC has is the fact you can upgrade parts but the parts have not been tested in that configuration so normally when i build a PC i get dumb ass errors. This allways happens but thats the fun part of a PC cuz in an Imac there nothing to do but add memory. Imac advantage is the form factor better feeling mouse key board and even though he said speakers you can not get speakers to sound as good as Imac's for only $40 thats bull but OS is lite than win 7

  • Check eBay and you'll find that apple products hold their value. If I buy a mac today and sell it in 3 years for 50% of the value I bought it for then the overall cost per year is 50%/3.

  • I am mac user and what I love about their product is the timeless design.

However when it comes to desktop computer..mmm apple is not my choice, it's about the gaming -yes I know we can run them on apple computers yada yada..-

But can apple give us the fun of building the rig piece by piece?

I use my macbook for 3 years and I just bought macbook pro few days ago, yet I missed my gaming rig in my hometown

  • Lol Arthur, Both you and I know what the logical reasoning for "apple upgrade scheme" is. Ill spell it out for the rest posting here.

It is to saturate the capital spent on "Upgrading" within the apple market. Thus shareholders are kept very happy as they are rewarded with large dividend, which are of course reinvested back into apple shares.

Now when a PC user upgrades they will buy from different manufacturers. And capital is distributed amongst the companies.

  • So to simplify things:

-Mac Upgrading (Financial Impact) = Pay more for whole new computer + old computer (cant sell as no one will buy an old mac). Offers the "useless" at extortion prices to loyalty driven customers.

-PC Upgrading (Financial Impact) = least, as only necessary component upgraded. So money remains for additional needs/ wants. Range of choice. Every key aspect customisable.

Mac Upgrade: Ignorance exploited to improve market growth + attract investors.

  • And that´s why apple-users should use hackingtosh instead of apple computers.

  • I like your point of view sir. Thanks for posting. I gave you a thumbs up

  • I'm with you! that's what I always explain, ppl dont listen. Apple is one size fits all, P.C is PERSONAL COMPUTER so its my pc if you dont like it then GTFO..

I have w7 and opensuse.... Have used macs like them but... I dont feel like paying more for something i can get for less its just a brand.. in fact apple is just an operating systems because the parts they use can be found for pc... they are just intel, nvidia and ati..

I dont hate Apple I hate the users which sometimes are closed minded

  • Don't you just love the ignorant fanboy comments on this page?! LOL!

  • @arthursucks you forgot to mention that individual parts you buy are of much higher performance and from companies that are specialized in that line. Apple diehards only have the choice of whatever mediocre to low end hardware that steve handjobs brandishes with baseless gusto, and his fans will just take it without doing any market research.

  • U need to get the hell of ur computer and get some exercise!! GET A LIFE

  • ive uppgraded my 27 inch imac core5

i put ubuntu one it lol

but one uppgrade to do if you dare is to change your drive to one intel ssd

  • you sound like a sado person A mac is 100% better. you need to get a life or a Wife/boy friend you sound like a person who loves his computer more than life it self.

  • I am a PC and Mac owner, I also have my own Computer Company in which I sell All Major brands like Apple HP IBM Acer ASUS SGI etc. as well as Custom Builds.

The mac Computers can Upgrade Processor and Memory at all times, But if You want to upgrade completely You buy a MacPro Because of the 2 Quad Core Processors (8 Cores) you probably wont need to the next 5 Years. Only some IBM Xserve Computers have 8 Cores, but you pay much more. Also klipsch loudspeakers dont sound nice try Focal Utopia

  • @Cornerstar24 Oh really? I have a video that TOTALLY proves you wrong on that "Only some IBM Xserve Computers have 8 Cores, but you pay much more." This video will show you that you can make a MUCH powerful computer/ server than that new Mac pro with that sweet 8 core (two 4 cores) video: watch?v=nQlKem1xn4I

  • 4 Components you have to upgrade... The most expensive parts of a Computer are the CPU ,MainB, Ram and videocard... Btw I'm changing my PC case, Keyboards, Mice and Monitors more often then my Macs...

Getting a new Mac has nothing to do with your soundsystem... I've been using a Bose system with my Mac for years now... Changed the Mac a few times... Soundsys still the same...

  • >my face when someone manges to come up with a perfectly reasonable response to 10/10 trolling

    >holyfuckthisbroshardcore.png

  • A PC (Personal Computer) to those who don't know what it stands for, Apple PC's run a different flavor of UNIX, which it the same that LINUX users have. And guess what, Windows can co exist with both, so why all the fighting, make LINUX not war ;) And Windows, and Apple stop please stop using 20th Century business, in the 21st century, is all about usage, not systems :P

  • he's right..just built an i7 based pc...fuck mac's

  • The only reason you don't like Macs is probably because you never owned one or you are just jealous. Yea you only have to upgrade 3 parts, but what about all the hassle that comes from viruses, spyware, etc.

  • Or maybe it's because the configuration I want Apple doesn't make. Heaven forbid the one-size-fits-all solution doesn't fit everyone after all.

Last time I checked the virus and spyware issues were only really a Windows problem. I don't run Windows, so it's not a problem.

  • @arthursucks A fellow GNU/Linux user? Alright!

  • @arthursucks What OS do you run? and btw what is a distro? Is a distro like Ubuntu or something? I use windows for my gaming and Ubuntu for browsing and stuff. IDK how to use Wine that well so it is challenging for me to use windows features on Ubuntu...Anyway If I had to be a fanboy I guess I would choose custom PC fanboy lol

  • @joeybags91992 - He never said he didn't like Macs - all he said was that it would be illogical to buy one as he was happy with his current choice.

Personally I don't really have any problems with any viruses or spywares.

Good virus protection takes care of that pretty well for me.

  • @titovalasques try installing Spybot S&D, Superantispyware, Malwarebytes, nCleaner and Lavasoft Ad-Aware.

Then You realize a good virusscanner is not enough.

Then remove the Real time scanning from the Windows startup otherwise Your performance goes down drastically.

I don't say windows is bad, But on Linux and MACOSX you dont need Anti-Virus/Malware/Spyware/AdWare. And Perfomance Wise Linux and MacOSX Rule

  • @Cornerstar24 - Maybe I wasn't clear. When I say "Virus Protection" I actually meant some sort of "total protection" so I don't have to bother with installing all the separate pieces of software you just mentioned. Personally I would like for more software and game developers to support Linux because I find most standard Mac hardware to be limited in terms of upgrades. Either that or if Apple began selling Mac OS on its own to be put on ANY computer (which we all know will never happen).

  • @titovalasques They did license the OS in the past. The concept failed miserably. The problem was instead of growing macintosh user base as a whole, all the companies did was manage to erode Apple's user base. Apple stopped doing it, because in the end, it would have just put apple out of business.

  • @joeybags91992

besides all this windows virus thing..is so over hyped, i have had Vista, now im on seven, i love them both.. when you surf smartly ..you dont get viruses. Also most people out there who get viruses are so stupid, they will go into a site thats jammed with shit ..and get a virus. Ive also noticed anti virus's call anything that "cracks" a virus these days.

  • @joeybags91992 he forgot to mention video cards and faster bigger hard drives along with new OS unless you're pirating.

  • @jsnissan How do you pirate Linux? Lol!
