Social Security isn't a great program, it is a ponzi scheme that has reached the end of it's life. ie, it is out of money. It is also used as a voting tool. If you really crunch the numbers you would find the return on the dollars placed in it is horrible. I understand what you are saying though and many Americans benefit from it who haven't paid a dime into it. Handicapped people for instance. I think a better program could easily be created.
