@william2603 if you love this, give a listen to 'Bruce Springsteen - Thunder Road (Acoustic) ' uplaoded by WorkingClassBoss it's even more amazing/moving.
@patdailey No,you misunderstood.i didn't mean the last line of the song, but after that final harmonica bit at the end he say's something i couldn't quite understand and then say's "god bless,we're gonna miss ya" just wondering what it was he said?
I think this was recorded at Tim Russert's memorial service in 2008. I am a huge fan of both Tim and Bruce, so I think it was a great way to honor him.
Okay I'm just going to ignore all of the other distractions on this page and focus on saying this video is absolutely timeless with these pictures and this song, which is in my opinion, absolutely one of the finest songs ever written...ever...top 5 for me...and I love every one that I have heard on here today of this..live, original, etc....Bruce can get up on any good morning and sound irreplacable...any way, any where....and I would stop wherever it may be and breathe it in..incredible.
That is a bunch of Bullshit...Bruce does not talk like this or sing like this! And if you have been a Springsteen fan from the beginning til the end.....
You would know that the Jersey born fans and the east-coast fans know it was a phase Bruce was going through singing like a Mid--Western wanna be! Dylan or Johnny Cash personification
that was DOWN RIGHT ANNOYING for the NJ fans and surrounding cities!
But thank GOD he is not singing like that anymore!
Im from NJ I know what he sings like, I don't have to listen to Born To Run its implanted in my soul and so are all the shows! The only show I can honestly say I have little memory of was my first concert in 1976 at The Main Point I remember being there and I remember certain songs but have very little memory of it at all. Maybe I smoked too much pot !!! I do remember the electric in the air that was obvious
I think Bruce said when he first went in the studio with this song, he wanted to sing it like Roy Orbison. But yeah, I can definitely hear the Dylan similarities, especially with the harmonica and sort of rambling style on the vocals.
Someone, can't remember who, might have been Landau, once compared Bruce to "Bob Dylan played at 78 RPM"
magic.I love this song with all my heart. great words by Bruce!

This is the part of the Lord's Prayer where it says "Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."
This exceptionally melodic piece of music obviously streamed down from Heaven through Bruce's fingertips and graced us with it's beauty.
God Bless You Bruce.

My favorite version of Thunder Road! So relaxed, quiet, but contains some sad mood.

@godriczimmerman He is referring to his friend, Tim Russert, who had passed away.

I'm assuming this is a new version of the song, his voice is so diffrerent from how it used to be back when the song was originally recorded.

I am sorry, but you answer tells me you don't know anything about music.
cgrade0815 2 years ago
And what makes you an expert?
I see nothing on your homepage to even argue any remarks made about Springsteen.
I am NJ born and have been there from the beginning til now...so what kind of knowledge do you have to back yourself up with?
Except and Charles Manson Video?...No music videos to even back up a taste of music at all!
