Yeah, old cars are fun, I am 16 and have had alot of stuff already. 70 lemans, 69 fastback, and a few other stuff. Right now I have a 95 Camaro and a 80 Trans Am. I have got the trans am to run after sitting 5 years, replaced the plugs, rebuilt the carb etc. It has been 9 months and I still can't replace all the spark plugs in my camaro >_> It's fucking retarded. I would love a 04-06 GTO though, that's probably what I will trade my T/A for.
Goats' are great cars, love them, my friend has one, solstices too, s2k's aren't that bad, I've driven one and wasn't completely disappointed. But come on everyone, no single car is perfect, the GTO rocks for pure power and the ability to smoke damn near anything on the road. But the s2k get's better mileage and is smaller. Lol great post! Yea GTO's are great but there is always something better for each individual. Some people are happy to have a car that has a top speed of 60mph but does 100mpg and some people like cars that can do 300mph and only get 4mpg.

Its actually a pretty cool feature, its easy to accidently speed sometimes, so its nice to set it at like 5-10mph above the current speed limit on long drives.

S2k's annoy me, not so much the car as much as the general douche bags you see driving them.

Only shitty part was I slightly warped my rotors from breaking with all the extra weight in the car. Shitty non slotted rotors!
Slotted rotors only have ONE purpose, they keep your brake pads from glazing over. If you think anything else, you're fucking stupid. Drilled rotors only exist for lower unsprung mass, they used to be to vent gases from shitty brake pads, but with modern materials it's no longer an issue.
The fact of the matter is this. If you're running slotted or drilled rotors and you think they're doing anything for you performance-wise, you're stupid. Solid rotors offer greater surface area, better heat dissipation and greater strength.
One more thing, the only acceptable "drilled" rotors are the ones that have holes cast into them (IE, Porsche rotors), the faggoty ones that you people buy from Autozone have actually been drilled, and all that does is makes them more prone to warping/decreases braking surface area.
POrsche's factory racing team actually pulls the slotted rotors off the stock cars when prepping them for race duty and replaces them with--you guessed it-- Solid rotors!

i learned a lesson in my 06 gto, a s2k came up along side me, and silly me went into 3rd instead of 2nd (thinking i would walk it easy), well, he took me by about a car length that i was gaining back but we had to slow for red lights... when we talked he told me he had just installed a turbo, so next time i race, ima give it all its got just incase, sweet ride!
I actually read this little arguemnent, basicly, it's honda vs pontiac+corvette....wtf??? hondas exist simply to drive to the grocery store. Pontiac is mostly for "fun to drive" performance, and corvettes are the absolute best performance car for the money once you factor in everything. A GTO is a pretty sweet over all ride (goes fast and is comfortable)....s2000 is a couple of seats tied to some wheels, maybe somebody should race an s2000 against a solstice...uhoh pontiac wins again...
uhhh, not a gxp, the Solstice will have about 30 extra horsepower and 100 lbs of torque...even though it does weigh a bit more, the extra power will make a huge difference (and let's not forget GM's habit of underrating performance cars to make corvettes look better lol), not to mention that the Solstice won 07 best of the best. Did I mention it costs $10,000 less? And won't break every time you hit a bump?

I own a 06 GTO that is stock. I have got to 164. The reason it is stock is because it has more power then what you can put to the ground with the first 2-3 gears. Only mods needed right now is suspension mods, and street slicks.
Pureadrenaline,I have a honda, RSX but whos counting, and they are nice cars. Ive even supercharged mine and have beaten some corvettes, but to say that the Z06 is a crappy car is not true. C6Z06 is beautiful work done by GM. I am not impressed with the GTO though, 6.0 engine doesnt put up much of a fight with its big frame. Honda is not the end all be all of cars, and neither is GM. No one is.
ok what you are saying about the liters is totally true. but the v8s for the gto are less expensive than your s2000 engine. so if you had a s2000 that had a 6 liter engine it would be very expensivive. and i dont have a z06 or a s2000.

Notice that the GTO still was still going strong until the computer limited it at 157. It had a lot more power to give. Just change the rear end ratio to a lower number and it will still get to 157 but a lot sooner. Can the Honda do that?

One more thing, the only acceptable "drilled" rotors are the ones that have holes cast into them (IE, Porsche rotors), the faggoty ones that you people buy from Autozone have actually been drilled, and all that does is makes them more prone to warping/decreases braking surface area.

POrsche's factory racing team actually pulls the slotted rotors off the stock cars when prepping them for race duty and replaces them with--you guessed it-- Solid rotors!

i learned a lesson in my 06 gto, a s2k came up along side me, and silly me went into 3rd instead of 2nd (thinking i would walk it easy), well, he took me by about a car length that i was gaining back but we had to slow for red lights... when we talked he told me he had just installed a turbo, so next time i race, ima give it all its got just incase, sweet ride!

GTO's have a setting that makes the car tell you when you are going above a certain speed. It was just warning him that he was above 120mph. haha.

I actually read this little arguemnent, basicly, it's honda vs pontiac+corvette....wtf??? hondas exist simply to drive to the grocery store. Pontiac is mostly for "fun to drive" performance, and corvettes are the absolute best performance car for the money once you factor in everything. A GTO is a pretty sweet over all ride (goes fast and is comfortable)....s2000 is a couple of seats tied to some wheels, maybe somebody should race an s2000 against a solstice...uhoh pontiac wins again...

uhhh, not a gxp, the Solstice will have about 30 extra horsepower and 100 lbs of torque...even though it does weigh a bit more, the extra power will make a huge difference (and let's not forget GM's habit of underrating performance cars to make corvettes look better lol), not to mention that the Solstice won 07 best of the best. Did I mention it costs $10,000 less? And won't break every time you hit a bump?

I own a 06 GTO that is stock. I have got to 164. The reason it is stock is because it has more power then what you can put to the ground with the first 2-3 gears. Only mods needed right now is suspension mods, and street slicks.

Pureadrenaline,I have a honda, RSX but whos counting, and they are nice cars. Ive even supercharged mine and have beaten some corvettes, but to say that the Z06 is a crappy car is not true. C6Z06 is beautiful work done by GM. I am not impressed with the GTO though, 6.0 engine doesnt put up much of a fight with its big frame. Honda is not the end all be all of cars, and neither is GM. No one is.

ok what you are saying about the liters is totally true. but the v8s for the gto are less expensive than your s2000 engine. so if you had a s2000 that had a 6 liter engine it would be very expensivive. and i dont have a z06 or a s2000.

LOL..just looking over this post..I just sold my s2000...so, yeah, I dont have it anymore. loved the car though, not faster than a GTO, but funner. Anyway, bought a one-way ticket to Pelham, AL and drove back an 04 Z06 into Indiana. Its all mine and I love it. Ill post a video soon.

Notice that the GTO still was still going strong until the computer limited it at 157. It had a lot more power to give. Just change the rear end ratio to a lower number and it will still get to 157 but a lot sooner. Can the Honda do that?

While im at it why dont we look at the important stuff like hp/weight ratio..... The GTO has 1hp for every 10 pounds, the honduh 1 hp for every 12 pounds....So if the GTO weighed as much as the s2000, it would have 307 hp.....Thats 30 percent more power than your s2000, oh and by the way the s200 only has 162 ft-lbs of torque..thats really sad, but you probably dont even know what torque is anyways

Get your numbers right before you start talking shit. yes the 05+ s2000 are 2.2 liter 237hp. however the 01-03s were 2.0 liter 240hp. 06 gto = 3725lbs/300hp = 12.41 pounds per hp. 03 s2000 (the year i have) 2809lbs/240hp = 11.7 pounds per hp. So if indeed the GTO weighed as much as the S it would only be 226hp. Oh yea and the S doesn't look like a bloated grand prix. puke. Trust me dude i know what torque is I have 400 pound foot z06

Don't get me wrong I love the LS2 but the fact is that it is surrouded by pour design, shitty aerodynamics any handling. a straight line is the only SLIGHT edge against the S2000 with the LS2.
