Duke Evers is one of those minor characters that really enrichens the entire series and gives some continuity. First few times you watch you may not even notice him, but after rewatching the movies you can see that he's a good friend for Rocky.
Kind of funny that in Rocky (and in Rocky II for that matter) if Creed had paid just a little attention to Duke's advice, Rocky wouldn't have "gone the distance".
Rocky 4 has always been my favorite Rocky!! I was disappointed in Rocky 5 that the film felt like it went back 20 years from rocky 4's era!!! All in all Rocky will always be the best movie production made!!
Hmmm...that gives new meaning to the intensity behind Apllo's words when he's in his corner in between Round 1 and 2 in his fight with Drago. "You're not gonna stop this fight, no matter what...NO matter what..."
@paulbattison How is that ridiculous ? Jesus sacrifice himself to save us. Apollo knew he had to die n it all made since. All that time I thought Apollo pride got him killed. Now I know God truth.
I thought it was interesting of why Apollo died. It was interesting of the deleted scene about a visititation from the Lord to sacrifice himself. Apollo was willing to sacrifice himself for his country. I saw between the lines of what Apollo said "You will when it's over and when he was beaten by Drago in the first round he asked Rocky to promise him that he would not stop the fight. I think when he hugged Drago Apollo said "No." I saw between the lines. It was very interesting.
And he gained a lot of respect from the fans. His training and support for Rocky in part IV is awesome. "You gotta punch and punch 'till you can't punch no more. This is your whole life here!".
Awsome interview. That's so cool to hear about that deleted scene. I hope Sly gives us all the opportunity to see the various deleted scenes from Rocky II-V and just overall Special Editions for those films. Tony Burton is the man!
where can i find the scene he's talking about god coming to apollo

I would love to see the deleted scene. I guess there was a reason Sly Stallone deleted the scene

I think Sly is done with the Rocky series. If he does that, he would mess everything up.
