At the time, Israel had Egypt whole Third Army surrounded and were marching on Cairo and were only about 60 miles from Cairo. Sinai was given back as gesture of peace.

Syria was defeated and pushed into Syria, and Egypt had its armies cut off in the SInai. Blame Sadat for the loss

By the time the war ended, due to pressure from the Soviets who were backing Egypt and Syria, a ceasefire ensured (only because the Soviets realized the Egypt would be completely overrun). At the time, Israel had Egypt whole Third Army surrounded and were marching on Cairo and were only about 60 miles from Cairo. Sinai was given back as gesture of peace.

And Hamas's relatively low casualty count is because Israel's security measures prevent a lot of their casualties, homes are by law required to have bomb shelters, Israel has the Iron Dome defense system and Arrow designed to defend against the very such attacks that Hamas does, and Israel can strike back within minutes.

@rfreakshow1 You are correct Egypt hit Israel hard in 73 and took the Sinai back, but you also are forgetting before the war ended Israel had almost cut off the Egyptian forces in the Sinai by operating inside of Egyptian Africa. The main focus of that war was the Syrian front to stop them from taking the GOlan back and then getting too close to Israeli towns and industry centers. Syria was defeated and pushed into Syria, and Egypt had its armies cut off in the SInai. Blame Sadat for the loss

I never knew history of Israel until smth like last week when i caught some reading on Wiki. Jews are a brave nation who claimed the right to their own country by strenght of arms in an undoubtly just war, outnumbered and outgunned all the time. More to it! Arabs were attacking Israel in coalitions of several countries at once at least three times in wars so far and got beaten to pulp every single time!
