I was in a beach in eastern Australia and I didn't notice much of a difference, although the water did rise a bit more than usually.

As to why i was at the beach when a freaking Tsunami was coming? Well, the Snapper Rocks ASP World Tour was going to happen that day, so I thought: "well, if they are still having it, then it must be safe!". Turns out that they cancelled it, but I only found out when I got there, as did a couple thousand people, so every1 stayed to watch the doom :D

Believe it or not, but the guy who posted this is right. In 1960 was registered the most severe earthquake of the world in Chile (9.7degrees) worst than the one in Thailand. Since Chile faces the Pacific Ocean it travelled all the way reaching the coasts of hawaii and Japan and killed many people. A few years ago there was a program in Discovery Channel about this.
