Bullies are so funny! our girl does this all the time, nothing 2 do with the floor! i've had people comment ours was suffering a stroke etc & have 2explain! for those that don't know Its in bull terrier books called trancing or ghost walking noone can explain what/why but bullies do it. our girl does it to bushes, xmas tree, coats/scarves hung over chairs, duvet on bed, and funniest if my daughter has a princess dress with tutu on she follows her round trancing under it! your dog is lovely :)
why don't you try to put a carpet? maybe the floor is not comfortable for the dog, or maybe he's just afraid of slide off (sorry for my bad english I'm from Argentina, my dad is a dog trainer and I just watched this and I felt worried about your dog xD)
I have a bull terrier that's about a year and a half and we've never seen him do this before until last week when we brought a christmas tree home. Everytime he walks past the tree it's like he gets hypnotized by it and starts walking in slow motion circles around the tree. I had no idea this was a common bull terrier trait. I guess I'm glad he's not the only one. :)
I have had three Bullies in my lifetime. One of them exhibited the trancing thing...but she liked to brush against the bushes outside. After consulting with several veterinarians it seems that this is not epilepsy or some other disorder...it's just one of those dog things that makes each one unique.
All our 4 Bullies over the last 35 years have never done this but I have heard of it, maybe you should move his water and food bowl to another part of the house. Have you considered its the timber flooring he doesnt like, maybe he 's had a bad experience on it and just doesnt like walking on the surface.
@general38 Whenever our dogs do that,, That's when we know they are ready to be put in the pot... They make great stew by the way, so tender and juicy...
@Leowen2 Hello, Leowen2. My bull terrier does the same thing when he brushes his head against some bushes outside of my parents house. It's the only time I've seen him do it, but he ALWAYS does it in those bushes.
@jdoubledisco yes all the bullys ive owned have done it,dont know wether its the sensastion of the leaves brushing over thier heads or theres a certian smell given off by some types of plants, moving along slowly with their stiff little legs, funny to watch,oh well thats a bull terreir, allways have to be different
I have to say that is a first, i know bullies trance, but have never seen one do it without something touching their back! Love it! (my boy is trancing under a coat i have hung up on the back of the chair right now LOL)
Wow, I thought it was just mine doing that and something was wrong. Till I found a couple of videos. I'd like to know what causes that? Too weird but he is well loved.
i love bullies but rent and couldnt get one (two bully tats though!) never heard of trancing it looks strange.i checked this after watching the knife review.incedentally would the term crossed hammers ring any bells?

@Leowen2 Hi Leowen2, He does this on any surface, very happy bullie and his worst experience would be a late dinner (lol).

My 6-month-old French Bulldog does this when he walks to his water bowl, too! I am gonna try and video it and post it....

Usually the rest of the day consists of a slow walk to the couch, watching the football, then snoozing
general38 10 months ago
@general38 , oh yes ours is the same and a day in the life of an outback Aussie Bully:?
5.00am Walkies
7.00am Breakfast
7.10am to 12.30pm snoozing on the lounge and running around the yard chasing the ducks
12.30pm to 1.30pm kisses and cuddles
1.30pm to 3.00pm more snoozes on the lounge
3.00pm greets the kids at the fence ready for play time
4.00pm to 5.00pm laying in the fish pond
5.00pm to 7.30pm walkies
7.30pm to 10.30 hanging out with the family
