  • How did you mute the C sharp string in the beginning?

  • @blackshadowranger You just make sure your index finger is resting on it just enough to mute it. Those type chords are called octaves, just takes some practice but pretty easy once you figure it out.

  • Really great !

But please can you tell me what programm do you use to make those multitrack videolines?thanks

  • Thanks so much, It helps alot !

  • get ur solo timing down and that last bend and its golden! 4/5 !! nice job

  • Yes! Thank you so much dude! Now I can start learning the song!

  • Can you put the tabs in the description too?

  • i hate my Fender Strat. In my opiniion gibson is the best electric guitar manufacturers out there.

  • im bad wit tabs and cant read notes soooo must of the time im watchin ppl play the song and listen to the guitar 2 match the sound

  • i have the same guitar its great but myn has "vintage sunburst" colour

great guitar squier by fender stratocaster original 1985 when they were made with more than 1 peice of wood

  • @thekoolchris12 mine is not a squier, mine is an American made Fender

  • great job but bad quality

  • @PEPsiMAXextreem yeah this was 2 years ago before I started recording to the computer. Maybe someday I will get around to re doing some of these old ones.

  • Man. Great job. Thank you.

  • just regular Half-Step down sounds good too. great cover

  • we, are tired, of your, abuse!

  • i can never get chords to sound good:(

  • sorry, didn't really like it.

  • thanks bro

  • im new guitar and im wondering how you mute the d string when your doin the chorus?

  • Just let your index finger lightly touch the string.

  • This song was played without a Lead Guitarist. They did it with 3 people.

  • @coyote7272 wrong they only had 3 people in the band Shaun Morgan - singer/guitarist, Dale Stewart - bass and John Humphrey - drums

  • What do you call that when you play the A and G string but mute the D string? Are they just power chords?

  • Those are called octaves

  • What are the settings on the amp on this song? Sorry but I just suck when it comes to putting that stuff.

  • thanks dude, this vid helped me a lot, but im still confused on how many times u strum the part that starts at about 20 seconds, sounds like u strum more than the tab says to, can someone help me out? thanks, and keep on playing dude

  • just go with the feel of the song on that part, youll get it

  • Dude,i learned this song becaude of you,i love your tabs thanks bro!

  • Cool, glad it helped!

  • can u try explaining things in normal guitar tuning?

  • from standard tune ur top string down to D and then tune ur whole guitar down another half step

  • 238 hold your 6th fret on your a string then turn your guitar down to match it (strum e and a same time) then tune your a string just a bit higher octave and so on then strum your d and e at the same time then turn your e to sound like d

  • ty bro

  • that is sweet when it goes into like split screen. great job. :)

  • Yeah I'm really slow and I can't read that tab for anything

  • Thanks a lot man

  • You're welcome blueeyedfolk

  • great job man...what are your guitar amp settings for this song

  • Thanks, I have a PODXT Live pedal so I don't use my amp setings, sorry

  • i love all your videos good sound quality

  • Thanks, the last several months I have been recording my covers directly onto my computer for much better quality.

  • nice tab good quality

one question though, as i've never used drop Db tuning. I've used drop D alot. when you use drop Db, do you also flat all your other strings (1/2 step, while you're Low e is dropped to the Db?)

  • tune to drop D first, then drop all strings a half step.

Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb

  • thanks bro

  • Thanks !!!!!

  • You are welcome

  • nice dude thnx for the tabs

  • no problem

  • thanks man the tabs helped a bunch

  • great job :D.

    p.s i have the same guitar :O

  • your really good.

  • what do the X's mean at the beggining in the tabs?

  • That string is muted, use your index finger to lightly lay on top of it so it does not ring out. Instead of the usual power chord, it's called an octave.

  • hey i have a question about the tuning:

Do i tune the E string down to D then tunes it down another half step, or do i tune down to D and tune the other strings down a half step?

sorry if its a stupid question but im confused DX

  • Tune the E down to D and then all strings down 1/2 step from there.

  • alright thanks :D

Nice job by the way, you nailed the solo.

  • lol no wonder it wasnt sounding rite for me i didnt check the discription 4 tuning, thx this vid is great!

  • Thank you for posting this video! you taught me how to play this song. its the only one i know so you taught me my first song. thanks again!

  • is this from ultimate guitar XD

  • I have all their tab books, but I didn't play it 100% acording to the book on a couple parts, but pretty close.

  • what does Db Ab Db mean?

  • d flat a flat then d flat again id thats what you mean

  • Yeah, the "b" means flat. If you have a chromatic tuner it may show as

    C# G# C# F# A# D# - the # means sharp

    or

Db Ab Db Gb Bb eb - they are both the same tuning.

  • dude how do you make your amp sound like a rythem guitar and then how do you make it sound like a soloist?

  • It's all from my pedal. I have a PODXT Live pedal from Line6. Not that it's special, you can do the same with any multi-effects pedal.

  • nice, i used the same tabs to learn it, sounds good....what else do you play?

  • Thanks, click on my name and other videos, I have about 60 covers. Only the last few months I have been adding the tabs to them though.

  • Yo dude! Nice cover with the tabs! Check out my full version of this.

  • hey man u are awesome u r really good i just learnt this song good work mate.

  • Thanks man, glad it helped!

  • ive been trying to play this song since ive heard it... i never exactly understood the tabs till you played along with them... thanks you helped so much =)

  • You're welcome ToxicEarlobe

  • awsome but hey try playin it in drop C tuning tried tha like 4 days aago and it sounds bad ass i actually like it better than the tuning your using tell me how you like it...

  • That part right at 2:14, what are you playing there? maybe it because im playing on an acoustic but I don't think is the same fingering that I've been doing the rest of the time is it?

  • I didn't realize I forgot to tab that part, I will have to fix it. I just played the top strings open and then the 5th fret...

    Db-0-0-0-0--5-5-5-5-

    Ab-0-0-0-0--5-5-5-5-

    Db-0-0-0-0--5-5-5-5-

  • hey dude what do the X's mean

  • It means to mute that string, just let your first finger overlap over top of it and just touch it a little is all you need to do......so it won't ring. It is called an octave and will give a much different sound than a regular power chord.

  • Another question. Do i play all six strings or just those 3?

  • Technically, just those three but to make it easier you can play the top 4 strings. You just need to also mute the top one by touching it with the tip of your index finger, or wrapping your thumb up and touch it, or some people reach over with their middle finger over the top of that string touching it just lightly. I think the last way is the proper way to do it. I use tip of my index finger. What ever way you feel comfortable, practice and it will be easy after a while.

  • i like ur tabs and the ones for the solo are the best ive found so far... thx man

  • lol good cover. and nice jean shorts lol.

  • dude ive been looking for how to play this song for forever u did an awesome job man

  • Thanks disturbed14

  • same comment i was gonna make haha.

  • nice check out my vids

  • Dude you give the best lessons for guitar man. made it alot easier to learn this song

  • Thanks bungiesbad, glad I could help.

  • i wont be impressed until you learn metallica

  • hey great job but ur tab seems a little diff from wut ur doin on the verse, can u let me know if there's somthin different or if i'm just lookin at somthin the wrong way

  • great video, there are no good tabs for this one out, this one was great, if i was playing in standard tuning what would the (5557xx) translate into?

  • Thanks WarCowX95, I guess that would be 3557xx but definitely won't sound the same, maybe if you were 1/2 step down from standard could get away with it. You could probably leave off the 7, to long to reach. Why not play in Drop D, sooo much easier?

  • thanks

  • sorry iam new at guitar but how do you get to drop d tuning? i don't understand it

  • you take your e string and lower it to a d note so if you got a tuner, just lower till it says "d" SOME TUNers have bass setting so you might have to do put on that

  • thanks!

  • Er,that's bend on the 15th, hammer-on to the 17th XD

  • TO play what Shaun used to play live, turn the distortion off during the verse and play Dsus2 and G5 during the chorus, then play the solo only where appropriate. then, the outro, play the intro.

Also, the octaves aren't that hard. I don't know what gauge you're using, but I used Dean Markley's Dropped tuning strings (High E 13, Low E 56) and they weren't that hard to play. Just keep on practicing.

Also, one last tip: For the solo, when you bend on the 115th fret in the B string, just hammer17

  • Damn GreenAiden, if you are going to correct all my songs it's going to be a long night for you. LOL

Nah, I appreciate the feedback and please know that I know most of my playing is not perfect. I have only been playing about a year and I am just happy I am at the level I'm at right now. I practice almost every day and am pretty happy with my progress.

Oh, if you listen close the solo is played twice. And I believe I have the outro right

4X the same, I will hav to listen to original again.

  • Hey, I'm just giving a helping hand :)

Some of the songs can be hard. Believe me, I know. I'm just trying to help a fellow guitarist out :)

  • luv the double screen for both the rythm and lead!! thanx man this helps a lot!

  • hey man great job on this but do you tihnk you can send me the tabs for the bridge rite after the second solo or lead watever you wanna call it.. its the part where you palm muted it?? plz..

  • hey jtodd900 do you know the place where i can learn tabs?

  • can somebody give me the chords for this song?

    i cant find them anywhere

  • The tabs are right there on the screen. If you can't read tabs you need to learn. It's very easy.

  • on the 11 and 9 part or whatever, in the very beggining part, I think it sounds better to add the bottom(Db) ithink it's that, lol.

  • thanks alot man you also helped me now i keep playing good playing

  • Thanks man, your video helped alot!

  • No problem djckawasaki, glad it helped you out.

  • what tuning is that?

  • Drop D and 1/2 step down.

  • I just learned what drop D is but if I understand you correctly, total drop is 3 steps down, right?

    btw, you rock! awesome video

  • Yeah but only the top string (E) is down 3 frets and all other strings are tuned down only 1 fret. If that makes sense.

So first tune to normal Drop D (DADGBe) then all 6 strings down another 1/2 step (or 1 semitone) so you will end up with

(Db Ab Db F# Bb Eb) Hope that helps. Thanks for the comment

  • got it... sounds a whole lot better now. thanks!

  • thanks for the tab man

  • You're welcome.

  • awesome dude, but can u make easier tab to read for me? Im not at that level yet.thanx bro

  • Nice job yourself. And thanks for the comments. Little tip though, in the verse, just do the chord change from C# staright into F#. Sounds way better without adding the extra. I did a crappy job on those videos also, so I'm probably going to delete them. I'll be replacing them with some better stuff though. I just got a drumset too, so maybe I'll throw a little some of that in too.
