I have a NV10, is completly normal :(, according samsung, (you need to read the manual) the microphone turn off when we use the zoom because the noise from the zoom... (I dont know how to say it... ziuummm.. jeje), is not a deffect, supposed, I've see videos from some canon compact cameras for examples and they havent noises from the zoom when they use the focus on the video.
...I have heard that there is an agreement between the leading companies not to allow ideal products , which will conquer the market.We will see if this is true if the problem appears again in the next model - Samsung TL34 HD
There is a major problem with that Samsung NV24 HD camera. When you are recording a video while uzing the zoom the sound disappears periodically whenever you change the focus distance.I dont know why they ( Samsung company ) let this major problem. Maybe it is because otherwise that camera will be the best of its class. ..
you can turn on the audio in the options menu and not lose it when zooming :D

Cant buy a point and shoot that cuts out audio while zooming!!
Go for Panasonic DMC-FX37 or DMC-Tz5...same video but better cameras and no loss of Audio.

I just bought a new samsung point and shoot and i love it but when I zoom in it loses sound too :(
Is there a way to turn this off?

Good quality but the dead sound during zooming makes me think twice before buying it.

what happens to the sound at the start, theres a pause where you cant hear anything :-s. it looks really good though, i want to buy it haha
