would a batsmen use the same bat in a test match as he would in a odi cos in a test a top order batter can bat for the best part of 2 days sometimes. In an odi it's rare for someone to stay in more than 30 ovs so in a test match the bats gonna get a lot more stick especially when facing the super quicks like Steyn Lee Aktar etc
@Xx1Anaxagoras1xX Well, yes, technically they are mass produced - the wood is machined initially before the hand finishing. This process creates a consistent product, which can be difficult when dealing with organic raw materials. It is a process that has been refined through the generations with care and experience, to produce a product that is fit for professionals, and yet still affordable. The owners and skilled workers do care and have passion for the products - their future depends on it.
@Xx1Anaxagoras1xX Its mass produced for a reason, to cut costs. If they didnt you would pay a hell of a lot more. You could get a band togther to buy only hand crafted bats but, if a lot of people got on the same band wagon all of a sudden hes swamped with orders banking up 3+ years and they would become be very expensive, out of the reach of normal people.
@0Zolrender0 Its all fine if you can pay the money, but the bats we have now are 4000% advanced on what was taken out onto the field 70 years ago, for less than the price then. and your whinge its mass produced. Get over yourself. The modern "C" grade player in a local side has a better bat in his hands than Bradman did due to mass production. Dont knock it. mass production has put in the hands of the masses what the elite only had 70 years ago. only now ours is better.
graham swann doesn't have to buy his bats he will have as many as he wants specially made like all pro cricketers i even know some club cricketers who have bat contracts
@DAJAZDJ1 still like any man if hes not happy with the product he wouldnt use it. bat makers "give" bats to high profile players to help sell bats. If he uses it and is happy with it remeber that helps sell bats.

It's not passion, it's mass produced. I like to see the old podshavers back making bats with a soul.
