  • Such a Kick Ass Track!

  • I was one of Bob Demmon's students in the mid 80s. I remember the whole class working really hard to get a B or better on a test so he would bring in the vinyl and his guitar. RIP Mr Demmon.

  • I saw these guys live six times in my home town of Lincoln, Nebraska and they were FABULOUS every time! THE Big Eight party band!

  • Banzai!

    バンザイ!

  • 0 dislikes O.o...cool hahaha

  • @bimbicool You know your comment is just going to instigate some douche or 13 year old who thinks he's funny to ruin this unblemished likes bar. It is pretty frickin cool though. almost 30,000 ppl watched and not one! Your right!

  • GREAT!!!

  • I was staying at the Harvest House in Boulder in October 1974. The CU class of 1964 was having a reunion during Homecoming. The top floor of the HH was ROCKIN'. Turns out that they had coerced the Astronauts into a reunion concert. Found one single woman to dance with. We danced together until they stopped playing and turned on the lights. Then she said the words, "I want you to meet my husband, Storm Patterson." Oh well - it was worth it to hear them live again!

  • incredible sound!

  • We played with them when we were filming Surf Party!! My band was THE ROUTERS and those guys were so much better than our band. They were truly incredible musicians.

  • @michaelzstuff Well I don't claim to know much, however,I live in Santa Ana, CA., and my neighbor recently attended a service in honor of Bob Demmon, who passed on recently. I was touched, when gave me a copy of the "program" handout !

  • @keitheeweithee Just curious to know what was said about him in the program.

  • The guitarist died today. R.I.P.

  • @dkurtz123 That blows.

  • The Astronauts disbanded in the late sixties, moved to Turkey, reformed as UR, played for a few years, then disbanded again and went on a hyatus, until they reappeared in the late nineties in California under the moniker Secret Chiefs 3.

    They're still around.

  • Any One know if these guys are still around??? I know Stormy (bass player) was in Nam.

  • Reverb heaven!!!!!! :-)

  • is that ticking sound in the intro the bass?

  • cool

  • Re-donkulous reverb, I love it. I'm going to go steal my neighbor's 42' plymouth woodie

  • Man. we love this.

  • WOW can you say Fender twin Reverb OMG

  • Ahhh, the sound of reverb on an old fender Jazzmaster or Jaguar sends chills down my back!!!!!1

  • mountainous reverb! fender amps are AWESOME!!

  • I'm told yes...Tulagi's is still there. The Sink (a beer joint dump) is gone in Boulder.

  • Is Tulagi's still in business?

  • From Boulder, Colorado and the University of Colorado...early 1960's.

  • omg ! can you say fender amps

  • @latexkat1 ..YES..by God!!

  • Say what you want...This land locked Colorado band recorded the greatest surf instrumental ever...and you are listening to it!

  • Think so!!

  • @hollies65 I agree. And I also think the Astronauts never received the recognition that they deserved. We only played together once, and that was in Surf Party. Very excellent musicians. As a member of the Marketts, I always looked up to these guys and I wished I could have played half as good as they did. We may have had the hits, but they had the talent.

  • @michaelzstuff Marketst kicked a good amount of ass...one look no further than "Out Of Limits".

  • @hollies65 Thanks! Much appreciated.
