I see why they make this ending. After playing for so long, the game starts to get into you subcutaneously, eventually you will get freaked the f**ked out and have nightmares. You will afraid your own shadow, but when you see this ending it makes the whole thing joke and you realize its just a cute little dog manipulating your mind. the developers of silent hill made this ending considering they thought that the game was too scary and it gave the players amazingly scary nightmares so the only way to redeem themselves would be to use this ending so that their nightmares will be shattered.
