  • where do you think the fruits of your labors should go? you all need to realize that to force people to pay income tax is to enslave people.. i know most of you just cant get this simple fact, but you need to realize what your grand democratic games do to your fellow man, and what you have become.. democracy inevitably leads to socialism, and you will continue to lose your rights.. yet in your blind stupor, you think the goverment that enslaves you, keeps you free

  • @longfootbuddy You win the dumbfuck award. Enjoy your anarchy and shove those extra bucks up your flabby ass. I can smell a Ron Paul pimp a continent away. Septic sucker.

  • @slownoman i see youre retarded

  • Just remember- The Democraps got us into WWI, WWII, Korea, Guam, and Vietnam.

As far as Bush taking us into Afgahn and Iraq- The congress was going to say no to us going into Iraq until Hillary Clinton said, " I saw the intel when I was in the white house and can verify it's authenticity" And you blame Republicans? Idiots.

  • Just Remember- Dems got us into WWI, WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, and Guam. I get so sick of everyone saying that the Reps are the war mongers without looking back a history.

  • @TheRealXynot bullshit. Typical fascist blather. Germany and Japan started WWII; the isolationist assholes- like you- kept us out until the world was damned near lost. Ike started vietnam. guam? WTF? That was a battle in WWII. I was stationed there. moron. America loves wars. Both parties beat their chests, but it's the chickenshit chickenhawks like The Dick and The Bush that have us in our present shithole. here's a one finger salute from a vietnam vet.

  • WWI- unnecessary Vietnam- unnecessary afganistan- arguably unnecessary iraq- why the fuck were we over there

  • awesome dude

  • Anything that promotes peace is a good thing. Thanks JEZUZ06.

  • @mespasticpunk LMAO, you know nothing about fascism. Fascism is big controlling double standard goverment that your "war pigs" have been snuffing out since the begining of American history, to give you the freedom to whine like a little bratty girl and dance around in your mom's big girl panty's. It's anti-militant's like you who make the government bigger, want to take MORE from the wealthy(Business/private) to make every one equal (communism) and hump trees. Read a book, sport.

  • @Setherlast As a Vietnam vet (68-72) may I say: fuck you. 58K of my brothers died, and the loss made no one free. asshole. I'm 65, and we've been at useless war for most of them. So don't hand me that reich wing bullshit about dead soldiers and freedom. douchebag. Three wars in our history have been worth dying for: the Revolution. The Civil War (you'd have been a cuntfederate); and WWII. The rest: pointless death. Kiss my veteran ass. Semper fi.

  • @slownoman You'd like me to kiss your ass... Don't ask, don't tell homo. I assure you 90% plus of the American military feel differently than you. 1 tree humper saying otherwise isn't going to make a difference in my eyes. You're no patriot, you're an embarrassment to the US military. They didn't have "don't ask don't tell" back then, so you should of been dishonorably discharged anyway, for being a flamer. Guessing you went AWOL anyway and went off sodomizing all the siamese cats.

  • @Setherlast sheep fucking fascist fool, I've been married to the same woman longer than you've been alive- ever since you were extracted from mommy's ass. It was your buttboy Bush who went awol, shit for brains. I served four years, knuckle dragging drooling fool. Now, back to helping that sheep over the fence with your pants around your ankles. Your only dates have hooves. On behalf of my vietnam vet brethren, fuck yourself, if you can find your micro dick.'

  • @slownoman Unfortunately for you, more year's doesn't make more brains, or you might have a point. You're just as stupid as you were when you got drafted even though you tried to dodge it because you're a wussy. You don't know the meaning of the word fascist, like most tree humping liberal's. Complain about the military while making the government bigger. Fascist is a word that you and your people took over like the word "gay" but the true meaning still exist's, dummy. Go hump a tree.

  • @Setherlast I volunteered. Fuck you. Do you still go to family reunions to find someone to screw? Closet fudgepacker. Fascist means the unholy alliance of big biz, big government, unquestioning patriotism, and frothing fear of "the other". We keep switching our boogy men. Inbred dicklicker. And, you illiterate wanker, exists is not possessive.Work on your GED when you're not dead drunk and humping sheep. Even with your hooved dates, your most frequent sex partner will always be your hand.

  • @slownoman slownoman Sorry homoman, I don't rely on the "Enquirer" or wiki to get my facts from. About the only thing you got right was the "big government" part and that's what you butt sucking leftist commies keep shooting for with your socialist plans. Lucky for you karma doesn't exist, otherwise you'd be shipped off to france and sodomized with a Canadian flag pole. It's never too late to go back and complete at least your 5th grade of education. Bye bye, hippy :)

  • @Setherlast Back to your sunday tradition of cousin fucking, cracker.

  • This song was 40 years ago no.9 in the world charts #jonathan #edwards

  • Bless Your Heart. Thank You for making and sharing this video.

This song was in my head ALL DAY LONG.

How appropriate that I come across your video.

Again thank you. Peace and Blessings. ( :

  • the hippies did more for the vietnam vets than the goverment

  • THIS is an anti-war song?!Good Lord--I've been hearing this since I was a kid,it's still one of my favorites--but that NEVER occured to me!!

  • Looks about the same age too.

  • The boy at 0.49 looks a lot like my son..it's chilling..thank God he hasn't went into service...worries a mother to death!!!

  • how much does it cost?

  • @mespasticpunk Dude- you really need to spend time in alt.flame if that's your best shot. First, coming from you, an insult is like getting insulted by chick on NCIS who gets the metaphors mixed up. You have no historical data other than what you get from one source whereas I was alive and remember from first hand experience. And I really dont have any more time to spend on a long dead issue with some one like you who only has a bald patch of skin and a mudflap to keep the dust out of his arse.

  • @mespasticpunk I dont know who the bigger moron- you just because of who you are or me for trying to talk sense into you. It's you LOL

  • @mespasticpunk You need to get better informed. Look at the facts- no oil. It was part of the contract with Iraq. Check it on Snopes. I dont listen to the media. I watch and make fun of them. Like when Bush said they will attack in x # of days and the media reported that there were military convoys leaving Iraq and then had the nuts to ask. "Where's the UMDs?". Get your rectal cranial inversion looked at before you hurt yourself.

  • @mespasticpunk Under DDE it was just a police action. It didnt become a full blown war until the end of the Kennedy admin and further under Johnson. Under overwhelming pressure, Nixon got us out. Not that he wanted to, he just didnt have a choice any longer. It was a political move to keep him afloat.

  • Great you are all up on your politics and current events...can we just enjoy the music please?

  • As for Viet Nam- Kennedy got us into Viet nam (a democrat) Johnson Escalated it (a democrat) and Nixon got us out(a republican)

As for Iraq- The Congress was going to say no to that war until Hilary Clinton(a democrat) said she had seen the intelligence "when I was in the whitehouse" and said that she could confirm the validity of the intelligence. Yet everything gets blamed on the republicans.

  • Whoever made this video needs to have his head examined- the Bush references are BS- We got no oil- altho we should get enough to pay for the war that liberated them from Madass (Ssadam backward for you idiots). And to further clearify- The reason we went into Iraq was- UN said to comply or else in 17 resolutions and Bush finally said- here comes the or else. This is after 10 years of US planes getting shot at for securing the no fly zone.

  • I love this song. When I took my son and left my husband. This song came on the radio and it made me feel like I was doing the right thing for myself and my son. "He cant even run his own life I'll be damned if he runs mine" that pArt most of all sticks out to me because how controlling he was but he couldnt even keep a job and all he did was drink and do drugs (and not the good kind).

  • lol its just a song guys. i never really just related it to my Marine Corps experience but rather bein a kid and living with my parents or teachers. lol to me this song is about "sticking it to the man." chillax libs and fellow conservatives. seriously, noone here cares about your opinions at all.

  • Yeah, I hated Johnson, and Nixon as well. Now, don't go off and say that every liberal is the same. Other then that, song is awesome!

  • Beautiful! Well done video!

  • add a few images of obama and his wars and this might be a good photo montage. and all you liberals who were oh so anti war when it was popular under bush, why dont you get up off ur asses and realize that obomba is bush the third! We libertarians cant be the only antiwar ppl in politics...

  • @funfsinn14 What war in hell are you thinking about? Obama hasn't started one war in his entire presidency. Oh, I'm sorry your watching this from one of those special needs hospitals, im sorry, that would explain your spelling.

  • @mpeterso1000 Although I find it cute that you think that my purposeful misspelling of "Obama" as "obomba" was a fluke based on a poor grasp of the English language, I'll inform you that Obama (*right spelling YAY!) is Bush the Third. You only have to look around. There is expanded war in Afghanistan, new war in Pakistan, a huge new war in Libya, and a small scale thing in Somalia. Again, just look around. Oh and I'm at a university. Attack the substance, not the frills. Amateur.

  • @funfsinn14 The fact that you even compared Obama to Bush is rediculous! I don't care how much Obama did, you can't compare a cow to a crow! Am I happy that Obama has given in to you Conservatives on every single vote, no but there is no comparison to a man who broke two parts of the constitution! Oh and study for your degree instead of watching youtube videos all day.

  • @mpeterso1000 I'm not at all conservative buddy. Let me spell it out for you who seem to be hopelessly stuck in the false left-right paradigm: Both Bush and the republicans, and Obama and the Democrats are warmongers. If you want the most compelling evidence, look up at how the Obama administration has ceded the power to assassinate american citizens without due process. If you were at all concerned about the patriot act (which i was very concerned about), you should be in the streets for this.

  • @funfsinn14 I agree with you in that the Patriot Act is a horible thing and I am to concerned with it's reprucusions (I could get put on a terrorist watch list just for this comment) But I still believe that it would be almost impossible to match Bush's Stupidity, and basic neglegence for Human life. And I also agree that both sides are warmongers. I myself am a Socialist. By the way what are you studying, or pherhaps teaching at the university? Also which one is it?

  • @mpeterso1000 The interesting things is that Obama didn't derive the power to kill Al-awlaki from the Patriot Act. He's just doing it with executive decision and no accountability to the legal or political process, yet it's a much greater power he's delegating to the presidency than ever before. If you must know, I'm studying history and legal studies and I'm a senior. I don't see how that has any bearing on the actual discussion, especially for a person who accused me of mental retardation.

  • @funfsinn14 Yaaa. Um, well I am sorry about that and I was just interested in what you were studying thats all.

  • @funfsinn14 Also I think an Excellent Example of The Patriot Act under Obama was the recent killing of the Terrorist who was an american citizen (can't think of name at the moment).

  • HAHA nice! I didnt realize my husbands name is Jonathan Edwards but he is in the military haha not so much for protestinng against the war.. :)

  • @superninjaswifey

I would imagine our soldiers would be the last ones who want a war to start. All of us get to sit at home cozy, they have to go fight and die. Support the Troops - Bring them Home.

  • Heard this in Anchorman. Nice vibe

  • @DavKellar

    yeah me too dude!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 12 people can't seem to get the sunshine to go away....

  • I love songs from the 60s, the music is about happiness and peace. it makes me happy.

  • @theserpantsang True, although this particular song is from 1971.

  • Wow man, great song, powerful video, really made me think about how unnecessary war is, and even in the face of adversity, people band together and brotherhoods are forged in war, but why does there have to be war? World leaders need to take a step back and really think, is this necessary?

  • I love how every song, speech, group, or human has to have some sort of secret meaning. This is a song about a man questioning authority, and yet it has to be used to question Iraq and Vietnam. I love how every idea must be interpreted one way. God human logic makes me laugh to no end.

  • 11 dislikes are from angry parents trying to run their kids lives. they are mad cuz there loosing

  • I always figured "He" was a republican.

  • Fantastic job! Thank you so much for taking so much time and care in making this video. I really like the fact that you included the history of the song AND why you chose these images to be in it. The sound quality is excellent too. May the goddess rain many blessings upon you :-)

  • Was this in a film?

  • the best music came out in this era.

  • this song rocks

  • @Ismjan: The more important "He" in the song is the guy who wants to run his life. In today's world, it's our government that is that "He." You need look no farther than the government takeover of health care, but you can find lots more. As for having a clue how the government works, I hope I do or I won't be able to do my job as a political science professor.

  • @obiwan2112 I don't get it with you Americans. You all complain about the state of the USA health system, then whinge when someone tries to do something about it. 'Goddam NO, you can't do that - it's (shock horror) socialism!' Meantime, countries like Cuba, Australia, Canada and others don't give a shit about what you CALL it, they just DO it!

  • @obiwan2112 That explains so much,

  • Humans have obviously not learned a thing.

  • Iraq was nothing like Vietnam. But good video overall.

  • @Mattlarrivee was?

  • @Mattlarrivee was?

  • @Mattlarrivee was?

  • @lsmjan Yes. Iraq is closing down and the war there is over. Comparing the war in Vietnam to Iraq, is not applicable. But if you're comparing Vietnam to the war on terrorism, then you have a valid arguement.

  • @Mattlarrivee

Does it count as "over" when there are still over 10,000 troops stationed there? I don't think Obama knows what it means to pull out all the troops.

  • @CBeliever I agree, but they're acting as peacekeepers. I mean, there is no goal any more.

  • i love how everyone is arguing on an ANTI-WAR video. just shut up already! no one cares about your little issues!

  • The song remains relevant today with respect to health care. He can't even run his own life so I'll be damned if he'll run mine.

  • @obiwan2112 Seems to me he's done ok, running his own life. Any clue how the government works? He's a black lawyer with no oil money. And he gives a shit. Damn that. What next?

  • Kudos. Great video.

  • The US will never fully get out of the middle east. No matter who is the president. FACT

Even before 9/11 the US has wanted to have a strong presence in the middle east.

  • This slideshow is shit.

  • So glad you made it about both wars

  • sweeet song, stupid fucking video

  • Fuck re~pubic~licans. You think you have a chance in this next election you are just coggerdy old fools like Dubya Bush is nowadays. Palin supporters ? Hahahaha ... You are evidently as smart as she is with her minus ZERO intellect level. 2 terms for Obama whether you like it or not. Does America really think that his administration could correct Mr. " I am a warmongering fuckwit " Bush's raping of America in one term ? If so. any of our populous that thinks that is the case need mental rehab.

  • @ReneeNme please go out in 2012 and campaign for Obama, with people like you out there the Republicans will win in a record land slide.

  • It may have been written as a war protest song, but for me it was an alcoholic husband protest song. Works for both. An anthem of freedom...

  • @3377glang : right now I'm using this as an anti-republican song, but yes, I've also used it as a "fighting" song against an alcoholic boyfriend.

  • Great song. Applies more to Vietnam though. In 'Nam you get a letter in the mail and next thing you know you're in Southeast Asia. Today every soldier at some point chose to sign on the dotted line. In 'Nam a platoon would lose a dozen guys on a single patrol. In Iraq we lose as many in a year as they would lose in a month. The VC and NVA were far more organized and had much higher public support than the insurgents. I'm not saying Iraq is a just or easy war, it's just no Vietnam.

  • Hot Damn... that's a good song

  • id assume since your rippin only on republican presidents that your a non-working obama loving democrat...every warship launched and rocket fired and soldier that fell in combat from the revolutionary war to the wars of the future is to protect your freedoms! if you dont agree with the cause then maybe you should go into politics to make a change. good song though! oh and i dont see you making a replacement for oil so.... get off bush's dick, he was a far better pres. then obama

  • @123abceatmeable Bush? A good president? KMA. He was an idiot who thought god talked to him and wanted him to be president. He couldnt put two words together to make sentance little lone make any point. The only reason he got elected was from idiot religious morons who thought he had gods ear. He used 9-11 as an excuse to invade Iraq to please his daddy. God is a dangerous weapon and morons who think god is real is 10 times more dangerous.

  • @saganhill I think you're also wrong by bringing God into this arguement, alot of ATHEISTS liked Bush, would that still make them a moron in your mind?

  • @FourTrees786 Yes, morons one and all. Bush will go down as the worst president, ever. Worst than Nixon. He did noting but create laws that limit our freedoms in the name fo security. THe Patriot Act, HR6304 and countless others, all in the name of national security. Only stupid people who voted for him cant see it. They think since its not effecting them why worry. A famous man once said that and then 6 million people were murdered.

  • @saganhill Limited our freedom more than trying to take all our money and force us to support his friend's by buying Health Care? Strange how your dear leader pleaded to have all those acts Bush started extended even longer, not a peep from the left. Bush still has higher ratings than Obama because everyone see's the guy isn't smart enough to tie his own shoes, less speak without things being written for him.

Think there'd be change going on in the Middle East now without Bush? Think again.

  • @Rbastid For one. Obama is NOT my "dear leader". You imply communist overtones from your little mind when you say that. If you say Bush isnt smart enough to tie his own shoe I agree 100%. The guy is an idiot. His education consisted of a 5th of booze.

Bush has nothing to do with whats going on in the middle east. Go back and see where it started in Tunisia. Then see it progess when a dictator's (Egypt) police brutaly beat a man for speaking his mind and then left him for dead.

  • @Rbastid Your "limited freedom" argument is rediculous. It was Bush who ramrodded the Patriot Act and HR6304 down our throats. He is the one who limited our freedoms with those reforms and bills. Look it up. As for health care, I dont see those "god fearing" republicans coming up with anything better? Im all ears but the republicans only care about themselve and have a screw you attitude when it comes to peoples health. Why do you think congress and the senate have their own healthcare?

  • @saganhill broad generalizations are fun

  • @morgantown1 Broad generalizations are NEVER fun.

    Wait...

  • @123abceatmeable Firstly anyone against Bush does not mean they kiss Obamas ass, in actual fact theres hardly any difference between the so called democrats and the republicans, both right wing just one hides it better than the other, secondly you're a successful story of some one who eats government propaganda for breakfast the wars are lessening your freedom by enstilling fear into your mind, thirdly no third party would have a chance in the USA, fourthly dont even get me into oil.

  • I love this song.

  • I heard him interviewed once and he was asked what it was about. The tone of his voice changed from sweet to bitter as he talked about the authoritarianism of his father.

  • Anchorman was the first time i became aware of this song, war be fucked its a tune

  • great video man

  • The French sent advisors.Later the Viets priests went crying to JFK.

  • The very best era of music in my opinion, was the hippie lovin 60's. So much inspiration when the world seemed it was gona fall apart

  • @shankelmo16 im with ya

  • Why talk about politics, your trying to make sense out of nonsense, just enjoy the song.

  • the goddamn french were fighting in vietnam before ww2 they stopped to go home and defend thier home land aginst the goddamn germans. well the french did not fight at all but surrendered right away. after the war they conned us into fighting in viet nam. so many do not know this. the polish people resisted adolph hitler for 29 days with now air force or army, but the goddamn french suck hitlers boots..

  • Oil?.... pff.. liberals are so retarded. explain why Obama is extending the Afghanistan mission for 4 more years..

  • You fucken losers have nothing else to do but argue on youtube. Do something with your life!!! Get a girlfriend or something.

  • @KKA13KKA Is your mom single?

  • @KKA13KKA I agree... but wait, arguing artisian politics is FAR more entertaining than something trivial, like romance... I mean, can you imagine how shocking and demeaning it would be to kiss someone and then find out that he or she was a fan of a different political party? That's almost as bad as falling through a rotten outhouse floor into the pit. [oh, there I go, being ironic again]

  • @KKA13KKA Dont waste your time. People have issues they feel strongly about and feel the need to argue their point of view. I enjoy a bit of civil discourse once in a while. As far as a GF goes, married, 5 kids, one who went to Afghan and a father who was in VN for 2 tours. My daughter will be returning to Afghan as she plans on re-upping. And, no, she isnt support. She's combat feild communications. Front line. So I believe I have a perspective that many dont.

  • Drewster58

That's the truth. It's lost on them. Too many brain cells trying to grow government!

  • I remember this song well. Old Tricky Dick and lying Lyndon Baines Johnson. Too bad he was a fellow Texan. To me he was horribly embarrassing.

Love the song tho. Didn't go over so well in 'Nam.

  • This song is the shit, and its 2010...

  • It funny - Pres. Johnson escalated the Vietnam war, not Nixon. Neither Bush got the U.S. ANY oil, but they did set countries free (Kuwait) and son to be independent (Iraq). But try to explain that to an liberal? Doesn't happen.

  • @Drewster58 Exactly. They are blinded by their allegiance to the Democratic party.

  • @Drewster58 Thank you, I felt compelled to type up nearly the same thing but you beat me to it.

  • @Drewster58 They also got thousands of lives killed so we could what? Go Into extreme debt. Try explaining your little comment to the moms who got their sons shot and killed so that we could fullfill our extreme need for oil and somehow avenge 9/11. Not to mention those thousands of innocent men, women, and children who were slaughtered, all just farmers trying to survive. But try to explain that to an idiot, oh sorry I mean a Conservative.

  • @mpeterso1000 No, we got thousands killed over and over again throughout American history for the same cause. To protect anti-american facist pigs like you to run their bong chard, witless, and uneducated mouth's. Please think twice, the next time you sodomize your cat or pray to your tree, who gave you the freedom to do that... Now enjoy you're evolved monkey freedom :)

  • @Setherlast Wow...You must have looked at half of the comments to see that one. I can't remember when I posted that. But thanks for sharing your opinion Bro.

  • @Drewster58 you are just not educated on the subject. Liberal or not, facts show George Bush's VP is the former chief executive officer of Halliburton Co., a $20 billion oil industry run out of, you guessed it, Mr. Bush's precious Texas. For you to assume that you are correct with no facts or resources is crazy ignorance. Don't attack people, because 8 years later, our troops are still in Iraq. I have full support in our troops, but the decision to go over in the first place, not so much.

  • This would be a great Tea Party song

  • Military advisors were sent to Vietnam by Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy. The actual combat involving US troops began after the Gulf of Tonkin resolution in 1964. Navy jets bombed N. Vietnamese installations in 1964 and the air and land war picked up in 1965. The rest is history.

  • This oddly makes me think of Half Life 2... Gordon singing about Breen and the combine..

  • and jesus wept.............

  • This song makes me mad and it's all upbeat and shit. Works sooo good! Kudos, Johnathan Edwards!

  • Awesome Job!Perfect visuals for this song.Adds more power to the lyrics. Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Nixon and Bush SUCK HAIRY ASS!!!

  • @fidafwmpwi you obviously aren't an actual student of history..

  • @donmajikjuan Heh, I'm not going to get into a heated debate about your comment, but I do know my music. Here is a little info I found for your future reference, that couldn't have put it any better... OH, and I added Bush's name because he and war both scare the hell out of me.......Continued.....

  • @donmajikjuan FYI...The song is a fierce proclamation of protest and independence set to deceptively upbeat music, “Sunshine” resonated with the thousands and thousands of frustrated and angry young men and women of the day. “It was just at the time of the Vietnam War and Nixon. It was looking bad out there. "That song meant a lot to a lot of people during that time especially me" Jonathan said. It made its way to the top five on the national charts, earning him a gold record in 1971.

  • We need to listen to this NOW!!!!!

  • @757juggalohomie AMEN!!

  • That is wrong with what you did by putting BUsh in there that way. Typical sniveling coward liberal

  • @heyazzhole Heh, heh, heh! Thank GOD it's a free country!!! I can see your anger is pre programmed. Hence, your username..

  • Does anyone know the name of the warsong that has the same picture as 1:43? I can't remeber what it is PLEASE HELP

  • I guess war is cool when a Democrat is President. No pictures of L.B.J or Clinton or Obama. There are no Democrats of Republicans, only Demacins and Republicrats. The same guys run both parties. My son is off to his third mission in the Middle East and "Hope and Change" didn't change a damn thing, in fact he knows his unit will be going to protect the poppy fields.

I guess that is a little too heavy for this site.

Great song it has a beat I can dance to.

  • @Pat9705 I'm sorry to hear that your son was re-deployed....Thank him, my prayes are with him.

  • @Pat9705 I'm sorry to hear that your son was re-deployed....Thank him, and my prayers are with him.

  • @Pat9705 Its funny how theres all the pictures of Nixon, yet it was Democrat Demi-god Kennedy who laid the tracks for the Vietnam War and then Johnson who started our involvement.

Also no mention of how Carter (and then Clinton again in the 90's) helped get us in the all out mess the Middle East became due to their unwillingness to man up and quell something when its small.

  • Your son didn't do anything either, so why the hell is he even there?

  • @Pat9705 ..................

  • @Pat9705 I pray your boy has returned safely, but, after all SOMEBODY has to protect those poppy fields or we'll all be paying more for smack!

  • on average 80,000 Americans die each year in auto accidence, check it out.

you'll never hear that on the news.

  • I don't hear anything about war in this song. You're projecting.

  • @cromick69 The "he" in the song is the US government that drafted soldiers. You can even look at the related link on the side where jonathan edwards talks about why he wrote the song

  • Seeing those marines in the East, and hearing that man's voice is like stepping into a time machine.

  • I agree with curt8789's comment. Showing Nixon's face was intellectually dishonest in that he was the president who got us OUT of Viet Nam. It was democrat president LBJ who said he'd be goddamned if he was going to go down in history as the first US president to lose a war, which is why it escalated under his watch. But hey! Let's not let pesky facts get in the way. Nixon's face is much more hateable, plus he's republican, so all is good.

  • Need to correct your history a bit, sir. The Vietnam War did start in 1959, but the U.S. didn't get involved until 1964 after the Gulf of Tonkin incident. The first Marines were sent over in 1965. Great song, though. Thank you for posting it.

  • You're right! Thank you for pointing that out, I've fixed it.

  • @JEZUZ06 No,you were partially correct. The US was involved before 1964.My Uncle was in Special Forces when President Kennedy created the unit.US was there as first as "advisers" AND Special Forces were there doing things before infantry. My Uncle's told me some things I've NEVER seen in any documentary, book or magazine.Scrub in,scrub out....

Most of the people wanting to argue"facts" are those who didn't serve.I know men who still can't or won't talk about it.

  • @JEZUZ06 im kinda new at this posting comments thing so i hope the right person reads this.....this is the most profound video ive ever seen those cornballs at Mtv should try to be as concienses as you.you completlynailed it - thanx for thevisual enlightenment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JEZUZ06 Need to ignore people who tell you to correct your history, The US was in Nam and involved in the war From 1950 on. We were called advisers.

  • @mrdudelz Well, in general terms, you're right. In actual fact, there were Special Forces there beginning in '59. My friend's late father was a green beret MP officer, and had already had 2 tours in Vietnam by 1963. He went back for his next 3 tours in 1965, and by 1970 had been there for 5 separate tours. But yes, generally speaking, the official beginning of hostilities began with the phony Gulf of Tonkin incident, and then the landing of the Marines in '65. Beyond that, it's all been lies

  • @mrdudelz It was never a war since war was NEVER declared.

  • @mrdudelz well if you want to get more technically, the Vietnam 'war' was a police action.

  • @mrdudelz after the french left 'nam, we started sending advisors for the South Vietnamese to train them and in 63, we started sending actual troops for security. but yeah the official war didnt start til 64.

  • @mrdudelz ~ Geeze.. Love The Way Your Correction Was Polite. Sure Wish You Were A FB Friend. I Never Mind Being Wrong When A Polite Correction Is Offered.. We ALL Have Moments When Instant Recall Is A Little "Off" & I Personally Would Rether Be Politely Corrected... Vey Nice & Gentle Correction.. & I Just Learned Something : D.. Have A Good One ALL!!!!

  • @KrystalDragonfly No problem, miss. I know what you mean. People can often take the first amendment to extreme these days. I'm on FB too, by the way. Take care.

  • @mrdudelz we still had advisors in veitnam and the north and south were fighting before we sent troops over but your right we didnt declare war till 1964

  • on the part at the end where theres a quote...please make it so you can read it...thanks
