I have a great feeling that those commenting that she is not good at all did NOT watch the WHOLE video. This is not supposed to be a dancing video but rather a dance TUTORIAL video. She broke it all down nicely starting with the simplest, most basic technique and then moved to the more difficult, complete version of a particular belly-dancing move. She actually did very well and many beginners who ARE NOT TRAINED in belly-dancing NEED steps broken down like this! She did WELL!
When I saw the starting - I thought, she is not good...BUT actually she started with the easy one before the hard one. And she explained it in a good way. This is the move that I am looking for - only found in her tutorial, not even Veena and Neena's!
Well she may not be all that good but you have to admit that the way she explains the move and breaks it down is fantastic. After all, that's what counts in a video tutorial... no?
@clarkseth20 Belly-dancing does NOT consist of ONLY the lower half of the body. How do bellydancers do chest lifts/drops if it is ONLY the lower body to be moved? And what about undulations? Those start at the spine between the shoulder blades & then in succession are moved down to the small of the spine being the last part to move / in reverse with it starting at the small of the back & moving up to the shoulders.

It's a nice explanation but the figure-8 she does isn't really a very good one. Her hips aren't moving quite horizontaly, the go up at the side slightly when she does the movement and she's not managing to keep her upper body still either....so the isolation isn't really good at all....but I guess for learning the move it might do, but I hope noone learns it the wrong way.

Very nice. I am researching because I was asked to perform in a week such moves. Someone saw me at a club last night and hired me, soley on how I looked. I was in costume at a Halloween party. I looked quite good I admit, but I was just a guy, in drag! Now I am scared to death, but the money sounds great and I like things that push me to the edge. I just didn't know this cliff was coming. It's a nice explanation but the figure-8 she does isn't really a very good one. Her hips aren't moving quite horizontaly, the go up at the side slightly when she does the movement and she's not managing to keep her upper body still either....so the isolation isn't really good at all....but I guess for learning the move it might do, but I hope noone learns it the wrong way.

this is not the horizontal figure eigh' (it's called 'upward figure eight' in this video). Why is belly dance called belly dance? Because your pelvic musles, belly are supposed to move and you CAN"T move them if you move your legs (she said ' Don't forget to move your heals'). I'd call it mediocre belly dance and that'd be a euphemism.

@stationagent75 ok you clearly don't know how to belly dance. if you go to any belly dancing class or look at any other belly dancing videos, you move your heels,. it accentuates the movement of the hips giving an illusion of bigger hips and bigger movement. get your facts straight before you start going off at people.
