I kind of think that you missed the biggest point. N900 = open operating system phone. meaning that you can put lots of Operating systems on it from windows 9X to windows XP (after overclocking ofc), apple, mac, unbutu. It comes with a costumized version of debian linux (maemo) when you buy it.

Because of this, I dont think that the N900 can be compared to much phones, its more like a pentium 3, with a 8mb graphic card (or something?), 256mb ram and a build-in phone.

I will give u some hints, like 1) does screen size matters to u ? a big size screen or a normal like N900 etc 2) does high mp camera matters to u ? 3) do u need a high spec mobile, eg with 1ghz processor, 512mb RAM etc 4) & can u afford top expensive phones???

Because im a text guy, i need to use SMS regularly i want a phone which is easy to use... and also i love music i want to my phone although i have an itouch.. and also i have a history of slide up or flip up phones, they easily breaks to me.. ( I am also waiting for that monster). its going to have 1.3ghz snapdragon processor with 8mp camera with 4.5" screen (thats massive :) ). Capacitive screens perfect? No they are nice, but I like handwriting and drawing. Resistive screens are also cheaper to make and uses less battery and cpu -resources! N900's Wordprocessing, especially with physical keyboard, also reminds me more of MS Word, than mobile phone texting. Varoennauraa needs N900 badly!

@anshunjain would not really be a representative comparison, as the 4G is about 3,5 times the price of the N900.

In the Netherlands 4G is about 1200€ if you are lucky, where the N900 is available for 369€ at the local dealer.

But still is far from 3 times better ... actually I-phone still loses in some aspects ...but at least the price is unbeatable ;)
