Problem there was that the `Allies` were exhausted and virtually bankrupt (UK) in 1945 and to take on the USSR so continuing the war to try to defeat Stalin would have most probably ended in defeat and Stalinism for all of us. Just for the record it actually was `fat fuck` Churchill who wanted to continue by fighting the Russians, but the USA had had enough. Now theres some history for you.
