Will aliens be hostile?

an advanced alien civilazation would look upon as like we would look upon an ant mound interesting to observe for a while but, then getting bored they would move on to something more interesting.

I think it would be safe to assume that any alien we encounter has survived by evolution on it's own planet.

What is evolution but the competition of power over other species.

If the aliens can get here but we can't get there then they've been at this game longer than us.

@Dougster If life has the same cosmic origin then they would just be evolutionary descendants of us providing that their species has avoided cosmic catstrophe. They would probably have the science and technology to determind that and if we are/were ancestor of the same origin. Undoubtable with natural selection is involves a peaceful coexistance to thrive otherwise species would kill each other and no one species would have dominion over its environment. this is why i think they would be "nice".
