Being German Canadian I was so trapped in that moment. I was excited and scared all at once. I truly believed at any moment the wall would go up stronger and harder than before. That even war could be the end result. Thank God it was all for real, and successful.

I was researching the history of the city I used to live in (Zeigler, Il.) and in the very early 1900's we had our own Berlin Wall with a search light posted in the center of town. Shocking that such a thing could happen in U.S.A. but it did and because 1 guy owned the whole town then no one could stop it. When I think about it I wish some of that was preserved for history too but since it was only up for a brief period of years (probably about 6 at most) it wasn't preserved nor was any trace.

this was one of the most void, meaningless pieces on the berlin wall. No real information at all, just a few personal memories. But don't forget to stess:

"Guilty Germans" and "Holocaust" What else would one expect from PBS
