hey man i was wondering how much yu charge to do that on my explorer i have the same problem and i just wanna change tge engine you know how much it cost ?
Wow that was great ive got an explorer that needs the engine changed. I've worked in auto parts for 10 years and asked a few of my mechanic customers how to go aboout it they all swore its the hardest job in the worl and that you need a hoist and have to drop the whole running gear and front diff suspension etc etc YOU just proved them ALL wrong you've put in a champion effort with these videos and running commentry great job really well done
Thank you for posting these videos. I'm doing an engine overhaul on a 01 explorer and these videos couldn't have come at a better time. Just one question, I'm having trouble removing the transmission bolts on the top side, any suggestions on how to get this done? Thanks againg for all the info and step by step. Helped me ALOT!!!
Great video series. I thought you did a thorough job explaining the step by step procedures and I hope you continue producing more in the future. I learned a whole lot, thanks.
@adj7214 thanks for the complement. As for the wrenches I'm in the process of coming up with a better design for the drive portion of the wrench where the socket attaches
Once i get that all worked out i will be posting a couple sets on my website toolsandtime. Com thanks again
@ami2evil thank you, if you need help along the way or any questions with repairs feel free to join my forum @ toolsandtime its easier for me to interact/respond in addition others can chime in to help out
SOS 1998 Ford Mercury. My Fiancee and I had to replace the engine in my mercury. Got it in and all together. The engine will turn but will not crank. We have nearly worn out the manual trying to find the problem. Have asked people that we know and not getting where. If any one out there that may know something that we are overlooking or have not tried would be a great help. Thanks
@700walter11 sorry for not responding not sure how i missed your comment, have you had any luck? let me know you can also pm me or stop by my website/forum toolsandtime for a quicker responce
Well it took me a while to get thru all the vids and WOW are you some talented tech. Your the real deal, great music in the background. I do wish you talked a little more as you work because I learn something all the time. Never seen them 1/4 and 3/8 drive ratchets before, who makes them there a great idea. I do notice that craftsman cordless impact is all you really need to do engine work. Your doing a fantastic job and look forward to more. Thanks
@Bonfield2002 thank you for the compliment, as for the talking part i need to work on that lol, as for the ratchets i will look into that for you i had them awhile cant recall who makes them, they work great don't know how i did without them before, that craftsman impact is one of the best tools i own, not to mention the fact it spoiled me lol thanks for the feed back
@Bonfield2002 - Great work man. I'm envious that you can do that stuff. Brakes and shocks thats as far as my confidence goes. Mine is in the shop for the primary timing chain rattle! If i keep my explorer and the motors dies. I may call on you to replace it! Keep the Videos coming.!
Will I really enjoy your videos. I am as well learning some great tricks of your trade. I appreciate you letting us listen to the good music while you work. Please keep the videos coming.
@Bediasman thank you for the complement, glad you enjoyed it, with all the positive feed back, i cant stop now i i will do my best to keep them coming, im working on something for you guys that i hope will help, but i cant say yet lol

@jboydmv90 yea for good reasons, if one breaks back out she comes, however, it needs to be done, i had cars come in with loose converter bolts in the past,

These videos have been a great help. i have to replace an engine on a 2003 explorer so seeing this series gave me a lot of insight on thing i probably would have missed. Keep it up your doing great!
Thanks for taking the time to shoot this video. I watched all six of your videos on replacing the engine in the Explorer and I can tell that you're one heck of a mechanic. I have a 4.0 SOHC in my 2004 Ranger and I really like it. When Ford first started putting the 4.0 SOHC engine in the Rangers back in 2001, they had big problems with the timing chain tensioners. Have you ever had to replace them? and if so did you have to buy or make those special tools for replacing the tensioners?
@TheKentuckyboi thank you for the compliment, yes i have and i never want to again lol jk we had a kit we bought just for that motor, its one of the craziest setups i ever dealt with, did a couple and turned alot more down lol besides that they are a good engine, thanks again, will
This is an answer to prayer! Just brought home a 99 Explorer two days ago which needs an engine replacement. It's a project I'm doing with my son and will be his first car. This video series is absolutely fantastic.
Thanks so much for taking the time to put it together.
@zionboy768 Thanks, I appreciate the compliment, this was actually my first series of vids, some people actually laughed when I told them I was going to start a channel dedicated to auto repair and how- to vids, and my response was… there’s been so many times I wished I could have something like that I could review, so if I could help one person out. It’s worth it to me… good luck, if you have any questions alone the way feel free to ask, I will be more than happy to help thanks, will
