Jack Buck....R.I.P.. I am sure he is watching from heaven this most improbable World Series win by the Cards.... Crazy does not even come close to describing a team that was 10 games out of a playoff spot in late August only to become a World Series champion in late October... and i am not even a Cardinals fan !
Him calling Kirby Puckett's home run in Game 6 of the 91 world series was awesome too !!
I was at that game. 9 years old. Only remember being drenched in booze from people throwing their buds in the air. Had to come find it after this great game. Go crazy, folks!
I was just 7 when this moment happened and I still remember it vividly! Ozzie's biggest home run ever (and one of his only) and "go crazy folks, go crazy" is one of the most famous lines ever said by a broadcaster.
My all-time favorite Cardinal moment. We were tied 2-2 in the series and Valenzuela pitched a great game. Didn't want to go back to LA down 3-2. Niedenfuer was having a great year. Ozzie had ZERO home runs..........EVER.........from the left side. Figured we'd go to extra innings. And then..........GO CRAZY FOLKS!
@stumpafuh Yep! The very next game (game 6) in LA Clark also took Niedenfuer deep. Can't remember what inning, but I believe it was either the 8th or 9th.
I remember him in 1991 world series and his called said it best when puckett made that walk off home run to give the twins the win "and we see you tommorrow night!"
@thedude19766 "his call said it best"? Really? I remember that 1991 World Series VERY DIFFERENTLY! That was one of greatest WS in history but Buck's rote descriptions and lethargic mistakes made TV broadcast of those games UNLISTENABLE! Buck was overrated at prime of his career and at that point was about 10 years over the hill. Remember his call on Kirby's amazing catch in Game 6: "He caught it." Remember his call on Gibson's homerun in 1988 WS: "...and the Tigers win!' (THE TIGERS?) BRUTAL.

as a kid from L.A., this one hurt much more than Clark's Game 6 shot. What a classic Jack Buck call though!

@zcatera074 A few years later, he would make the "I don't believe, what I just saw.......unbelievable!" call on Kirk Gibson's infamous home run.

God, the Dodgers must really hate the Cardinals. Jack Clark's homerun and also the Wizards, I'd hate us too!

@TheCab2345 Isn't that the same year that Jack Clark hit the home run in the 8th or so inning in the same series?

@industrialsun you're probably one of those Cub fans that will never admit Jack was 10 times better than Carey ever was.
