This is because you jumped in the middle of that (which would be 5 pixels of something you jumped in, a estimate though) and made the game try to make Mario stand on it, but since it is very small, Mario went through it like as if it never was there. The game then trys to figure out what to do with Mario, and can not, so the game forces Mario's positions to be switched back and forth until it finds how to deal with it, which would never happen.
It's obvious what is happening. The wind is blowing Mario so he can get but raped by the wall.
