This is a fabulous interview, particularly in the next segment because Olbermann addresses some of the criticisms and weaknesses in what he does - SPECIFICALLY that what he does is the same as the guys he criticizes, but on the other side. It's nice to hear someone like this confront those flaws and the dangers they pose honestly.

Great people do not tear down the reputations of people they compete with, i.e. Keith's constant attack on Bill O'Reilly who beats Keith in the ratings on a nightly basis.
"I have lived much of my life assuming much of the responsibility around me and developing a dread of being blamed for things going wrong. Moreover, deep down inside I've always believed that everybody around me was qualified and competent, and I wasn't, and that some day I'd be found out." -Keith Olbermann in Salon online ESPN Mea Culpa November 17, 2002
redhurricane24, you're right. It takes a lot of guts to admit to your weaknesses, something Bill O'Reilly needs to cultivate. He couldn't even admit to being wrong about calling a teddy bear a "panda" on The Daily Show, because he's too cowardly to admit, "I was wrong."
Whatever you think about Olbermann's politics, there's no denying this man is incredibly courageous.
"The list, Bill, of things that we could attach the word "-gate" to in the Bush-administration is now 50 items long"
Article 10 Bill of Rights (NH):
"Whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people [...] ought to reform the old, or establish a new government.[...]"

All great people experience doubt. What makes them great is admitting that doubt. Keith Olbermann is just following that example.

i agree that he is one of the best and true journalists on tv
but just because hes against the president hes somehow too liberal to be truthful. sad.

Pizzledizzlewizzle, when you try to end a criticism with the word FAIL, learn how to spell the word first.
redhurricane24 2 years ago 4
learn how to spell.... wow, you are lame
pizzledizzlewizzle 2 years ago
Sure, I'm more lame than the guy who can't spell FAIL. Gee, now when I think about it, don't you fail?
