@CBC59 why u gota diss the south just because we have a crunk stlye instead of a lyrical style dont mean shit dont diss da south even doe da north really got all da rap godz
i agree with all of that apart from nas, i mean his one of the best mc's out there, but lyrically i think there are deeper rappers, gza, eminem, chino xl and so forth,
i feel nas sounds lyrical, but thats because he is so comfortable on the mic, but looking at lyric per lyric is is great but imo but no1
u fuckin kiddin me? pac alwayz got those simple rhyme style, lyrically hes nowhere. biggie aint dat lyrical either. havent heard much from dmx but what i have heard he aint dat lyrical. jay-z is pretty lyrical in his early stuff, but nas is WAY more lyrical n so is rakim, az, gza, big l, raekwon n sum other guyz from wutang.
Pac has those simple rhyme style because his focus is on reaching people emotionally, in their intellect and heart. DMX is similar too but he is more religioulsy focused.
Now lets get to the Wutang guys U mentioned all they are good at is PUNCHLINES, period.
There is nothing great about that because for real those brothers ain't saying much. They just putting words that sound cool and all, THATS IT.
@ValtteriVIP pac is nowhere lyrically, have u heard changes, keep ya head up, dear mama, i agree nas is a better lyricist but to say pac is not lyrical ur just a pac hater
lol this nigga really thought he'd sell a million

Please Please Please Stop with this Rakim is greater than NAS crap, No he ain't.
He inspired NAS yes, but Nas OUTGREW him musically in style and content.
U folks always go with what critics say, U guys don't actually have your own opinions.

NAS on the other hand actually makes music similar to Pac and X but not as emotinally driven as them.
NAS unlike the overratted WuTang Clowns actually has something to say, he ain't just focusing on punch lines. Same with Pac and X.
Lyrically Tupac is considered the Greatest rapper, Period.
If U call punchlines lyrical then U should join the Wu Tang Clowns.

Did U just say that Feminem, Gza, Chino Xl are more lyrical than Nas.
Wht do U mean by "lyrical".
Because lyrical is supposed to mean that their lyrics have meaning.
Rhyming is not lyricism. WHat the Wu Tang Clowns, Gza and Chino XL is rhyme but the MEANING OF THEIR LYRICS is no where as deep as NAS.

@lifeisforaseason
personally i have never had to research anything nas has said, i mean he talks about conscious shit but dumbed down,
whereas wu tang etc they have alot of symbolism, meaning behind why they use certain words and so forth,
i just think eminem is more capable of putting thoughts and emotions of page,
and chino,
i just feel nas is one of the best in terms of just flowing and telling a story, but its not super smart or lyrical
