  • 20 years...can't believe it's been that long.

  • 90s = Where it all began......!

  • NILECITY 105,6 <3

  • HEAVIES!

  • Was N'Dea 's split friendly?

  • ulf dageby med whipped cream

  • Nile City 105.6!

  • the lead singer ndea davenport (i belived) voice matched perfectly with the track. then she left and was replaced by a very compitent siedah garrett whose voice and style just did not go well with the groups concept. it did not work at all.

  • @hassan1814 I agree totally , Keith

  • NDEA SO WANTS ME...

  • 最高アシッドジャズのひとつ、Brand・New・Heavies-DREAM COME TRUE !~~ダンシング・グルービー #jazzm

  • Love this song.....Time to hear more from them......

  • hip-hop jazz eleganza....They don't make 'em like this no mo' yaw....timeless...

  • This song has been my Cell Ringtone for the last 5yrs....and I don't plan on changing it. I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

  • 0:11 - Greg Proops plays sax?

  • gran turismo music

  • great post !

  • Manchester Brickhouse 1991 - this was always on - top tune

  • A special track - it holds so many happy memories (90's)- the WAG wardour street W1.

  • A special track - it holds so many happy memories (90's)- the WAG wardour street W1.

  • A true modern jazz masterpiece excellent arrangemnts and vocals to die for!!! One of the best jazz groups in modern jazz history!!! N'DEA you sing directly to my heart...Wow..hello...

  • Acid Jazz 4 life baby! Yes, we need an Acid Jazz revival!

  • @szwedzkiPL

Hi from France I agree with you

  • @szwedzkiPL MOST DEFINITELY!!!

Bring acid Jazz back!! (Im working on it , trying to bring back this sound in my own music )

    I miss the 90's

  • Love this band! I wish they would do a show in Atlanta.

  • @TheBmaster25 DITTO!!! THEY DID A SHOW IN ATLANTA IN 2007 WITH MACY GRAY AT CHASTAIN AMPITHEATRE.

  • @avielgtb Oh really! Wow, I had no idea. I probably wouldn't have known about them back in 2007 though. I really didn't start following them until about two years ago. Hopefully they will perform in Atlanta again in the near future because I would love to hear them live. Thanks for sharing that.

  • you know it

  • never get bored of this song!!! love you n'dea davenport, please please come to Indonesia!

  • gotta love it

  • Seriously she should be the modern-day Tina Turner

  • Maybe it's just me, & not to knock the other BNH lead singers, but N'Dea seems to fit this group best. Either it's the look, sound, or spirit, she IS BNH.

  • Wow! I guess I missed out on this great group 20 years ago. I never heard this group before on any of the local radio stations here in the SF Bay Area. What is this group doing now? I hope they are still together.

  • @AngelPeace2211 N'dea can be my dominatrix! S & M all the way! I'll be her bitch anyday!

  • Ndea D

  • This shows you how much those smooth jazz stations suck. How can they NOT play this cut, it makes you feel good. Are you listening 94.7 the Wave!

  • @stewbie59 One cannot take 94.7 "the Wave" too seriously. They do play some good songs, and Michael McDonald makes some good money off of them because they play all the songs he sing on ... but they do not play anything that is non-mainstream. No Jean Carne, no BNH, no Incognito, no Terry Callier ... listen to 88.1 and you'll be better off. That said I do like Michael McDonald ...

  • ca fait battre le coeur a 200

  • I want N'dea Davenport to pull my hair, pinch, bite, and slap me around a few times. She's hot!

  • @BermudaEntrepreneur I call shot gun...lol

  • CHOOOOOOON

  • Wow!!! Impressive even~ and it's 2010...first time I've heard/seen this group.**I like, I like..~~.

  • Crazy Hot!!!!!

  • really good sound, good music.,the best cure to my soul

  • N'Dea Davenport !

  • Badddd!!!!!!! Love it!!

  • a really great band under appreciated back in the day.....they still sound so fresh

  • this is cool.. ;)

  • We need the DMC mix of this uploading onto here!! Think it was by Jimmy Gomez if my memory serves me rightly...

  • I LOVE THE "brandnewhavies" with neva Davenport she has a joyful beautiful voice!!!

  • THis song made me the funkster I am today! :P

  • Love the videoooooooooooooooooo

  • i really like this songs groove.

  • When this album first came out, I played it so much, the tape of the cassette, would get hung up in my player in the car, lol. N'dea, I love love love, her voice. I love the jazzy funky sound of the group.

  • @Papillonmuscogee lol the same thing happened to me with my cassette! it snapped and i was gutted no more of this song. It actually inspired me to buy a record player and my first purchase was Dream Come True (12"). Effin cool!!!!

  • @Andyontherocks ,lol.

  • Ndea Davenport, she was my fav lead singert in the heavies, back in the happy Ajazz dayz.

  • wonderful piece of history superrrrrrrrrrr

  • odd that there's a sax in the video - sounds like trombone on the track...

  • Acid Jazz! Always good :)

  • way - too - awesome

  • joy!

  • I'd like to know which singer originally sang this with the Brand New Heavies. N'dea's is a cover..

  • Got this from Wikipedia, so I can't account for accuracy. But here are the vocalists they list for the Brand New Heavies

Jay Ella Ruth - vocals 1990

    N'Dea Davenport - vocals 19901995,

    Siedah Garrett - vocals 1997

    Carleen Anderson - vocals 2000

    Sy Smith - vocals 2003

    Nicole Russo - vocals 2004

    N'Dea Davenport - 2005 to present

    Love me some N'Dea though!

  • Jay Ella Ruth. Rerecorded & released as we know it with N'Dea Davenport.

  • @cosmicgalaxy

The original singer was Linda Muriel. She co wrote Dream Come true but she's been written out of their history...

  • N'dea is a real talented cutie!

  • Wow, lekker hoor!! Gruwelijk goed!!

groeten van de glazenwasser uit Amsterdam. ;-)

  • Vybe- You hit it on the nose! amazing chemistry N'Dea and The heavies- i saw them in NYC- a once in a lifetime show - they were so on it! i still get goose bumps thinking about it!

    Powerhouse- chemistry and funk!

  • N'Dea was just the best fit of all 3 former leads. Such an adorable little powerhouse that just owned the stage and had the best chemistry with the band. The 2 parts need to put things back together and give us the joy that we felt here all over again.

  • Thank you! Music's gone down the drain now to be honest...

  • @SeanHowoOvBurnley absolutely!!!

  • @SeanHowoOvBurnley This is a really late response but I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!

    ACID JAZZ REVIVAL!!

Ive been jamming with the heavies since 1991 (on the american release) and Ive been into BNH for as long as theyve been around.. 1991-2011 !!

20 YEARS OF BRAND NEW HEAVIES and still FUNKY!!

  • @SeanHowoOvBurnley Another made up sub genre. Just like Grime.

Uh, sorry kid, that does not exist, this is hip hop.

    Don't get it twisted.

  • 1990 was an amazing year for us kids back then. It was amazing going clubbing and dancing to this cool song. love it.

  • this song reminds me of Colibri by Incognito, both brilliant tracks though!

  • Un estilo espectacular, estos tipos de grupos que afianzan hasta hoy el bun jazz-funk son de envidiar, la calidad musical, vocal e instrumental son paranoicas. Gracias. Beatiful.

  • Sorry for spamming, this is for swedes:

GOOO MORRON GO MORRON GO MORRON!

  • Nile City 105,6- Din kajplats i etern (Y)

  • This is a BAD-ASS Groove! Lovin it since it came out years ago...Great arrangement...and the Bass! Woo!

  • Oh yeah-- this is the more jazzy, early Brand New Heavies! My favorite era of the band (thus far, that is)!

  • WTF IS THIS SRSLY!!

  • awsome bassplayer.

  • cosa dire....?

  • Balle vad denna version svängde!

    Translate: Penis how this swung!

  • lol, check out the dancing. and, uhm... how come this was "reccomended for me"? Like... what the heck? :P

  • ((((((LOVHUMPS)))))))

  • i absolutely love the bass sound! wicked!!

  • eccezionale!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • First time I heard this song I was HOOKED! Thank you WILD AM 1090!

  • NILE CITY 105.6 !!

  • Very nice tune...for that special person...

  • is this the band that Jay tried to enter before forming the Jamiroquai?

  • yep, or a parallel style!

  • Yes it is, but fortunately he started alone to give us some of the best acid jazz tunes. Have you heared in youtube "love foolosophy" recorded at abbey road? I recomend it to you!

  • hey thanks for the recommendation, man! i'll def look for that video!! :)))

  • 最強アシッドジャズ!

  • N'Dea Davenport + BNH = match made in heaven!

  • N'dea is a total babe

  • @mouldmatic Haha So cute. "Total BAbe"

  • the good old days. N'dea is sexy as hell

  • And one of thee most underrated voices too

  • I remember this--i have this on vinyl and tape--

  • yeah free your mind this is acid jazz!

  • this music is good for psychedelics, they have the magic key. i listened to this tune a long time ago and was out of my mind but I can still remember the beautiful spiraling flower this song produced in my mind.

    ahhhhh....

  • i love this song by them amazing! what year is it from?1990?

  • N'dea looks great in this video

  • n'dea davenport rules

  • n'dea davenport one of my fav female singers..

  • this song was the first song to get me hooked to the whole acid jazz/neo soul era!

  • On the original U.K. version, yeah. This one was later re-recorded with N'Dea's vocals and featured on the U.S. release. Personally, this one soars over Ruth's version so no real comparison there...

  • Loving it !

    Still !!!

    ♥

  • This takes me back to when I lived in D.C.

  • Yeah! It's the original sample of international superstar soccer N64

  • I really like this, its kinda... smooth/funk

  • The Brand New Heavies are so incredibly good it's crazy.

  • The Brand New Heavies...A definite dream come true...this is a love that never ends.

  • n'dea davenport, they replaced her with siedah garrett. wrong move. n'dea's voice was just perfect for their sound its like a body without a heart - take out the heart the body dies

  • You got that right. N'Dea was the final piece to the BNH puzzle IMHO. Her voice really turned that group's sound on! Her departure was something akin to Chaka Khan leaving Rufus. Just couldn't picture one without the other. So damn glad they reunited of late.

    >;-)

  • anyone got the other version of this sng i remeber it had a kinda house beet was funky as

  • I think you're thinking of the same version I am mate. It's bloody awesomew!!! Really euphoric and uplifting and driven with a fantastic piano line. It's on DMC, I've got it on vinyl, but can't for the life of me remember who it was remixed by.....Jimmy Gomez, or Delorme I think!

    I'll have to find it...

    PLEASE SOMEONE UPLOAD IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • N'Dea Davenport - i love the way she roles, she looks and moves cool in the vids, all that shakin and smooth singing, class...

  • Ahhh, never heard this version, i only got the album version, still funky though! Keep it up BNH, your well loved!

  • Jan and Andrew and Simon have the funkiest grooves!! I love listening to Jan in All of their songs. Such varied funkiness he does on the drums! Complimented by Andrews nasty/funky bass lines and Simons tasty guitar licks. Another one of my fav songs from the Debut CD.BNH has and always will be a major influence on me for playing in a band and Ill be a fan of them 4-ever :)

  • this was one of the funkiest groups of all time !!!! bring them back I miss this kind of organic music

  • BNH are alive and well, you'll be happy to know. :)

  • sorry i meant buy the album this kinda music feels like early jamiroquai

  • Im gonna do that to but the album

  • I'd like to play this funky rythm on my own guitar but I can't even find any tabs on the internet...Could anyone out there give me the chords to play in this song? I'd love to!! Can't find it by myself... :(

  • Like Hammertime!

  • Hi Pinkmangoe I am here and this is a jam!!!

    Mr. Chip's

  • N Dea 's divine

  • Ulf Dageby med Whipped cream

  • I am dancing in my bedroom right now and its 11:41 pm :p She looks awesome in this vid. love BNH!

  • "...since Delicious Vinyl, took a 2nd swing at getting radio play on urban radio and filmed a 2nd video `Dream Come True '92´" and turned it all to crap...

  • the ONLY version.

  • I cannot believe they turned down Jay Kay as lead singer for this band at the time of this video. Mistake. But I guess its good because both are awesome. Its funny how many people listen to such depressing music (myself included) when stuff like this exists.

  • yeah,i wonder what would hav happened if they gave him the job...

  • Love this tune. Class act.

  • makes me dance in my office!!!!

  • The Definitive version... That 1st album was SWEET!

  • The guitar player from this band is one of the most solid rythym guitarists I've ever heard. (And I've played guitar for 20 years)

  • Did Hugh Heffner discover The Heavies?

    Mr. Chip's

  • quem diria que exatamente nessa epoca o jay kay (jamiroquai)nao passou no teste para cantar nessa banda?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • playing indig02 in october 2008

  • Grote klasse! Ik heb ze destijds gemist door een stommiteit.... Maar ik ben zo blij ze nu op youtube te kunnen zien.

    Groeten uit Amsterdam!

  • Brit Funk rocks!

  • I love them . theyre so weired like me. I love the music more tho.

  • I know the basswalk :] can do it flawlessly.

  • So tight and brilliant. I saw this video on BET in 90 and it blew me away. Amazing how it never gets old.
