Bichon Frise Puppy Gone Crazy! AKA "Blitzing"

Aw! My Bichon Frise does this! It's the cutest thing ever! But he gets really into and he starts sliding on the floor and tripping over himself! One day he was doing i and banged the entire side of his body off the corner of my dresser! I got such a fright and expected to hear his squeals of pain...but he kept running?!

@omgilikejelly If yours is anything like mine, he's impervious to pain. Bailey will slip on the linoleum in the kitchen and bonk his head on the cabinets or a chair, but he never stops running around.

@dlhlah Ours is 13, and still looks like a puppy (as beloved dogs do); the only difference in her Bichon Attacks are they're a little shorter than they used to be, and she still seems healthy. Our family's very pleased about that.

Mugsey does the same exact thing, usually after he gets back from a walk, soemtimes he builds up enough momentum and basically runs on the wall. It's crazy. But they said its like heritdatary in bichons, the first time he did it i took him to the vet cus i though he had like spazzams or seomthing! =D

What your dog is doing is called a "bichon buzz". Usually this happens when Bichons get all excited.

My first Bichon, Mopsy, did that only it was full steam around the large family table in the dining room. My second Bichon, Sadie, is the same. She's not as active as she once was {age and a disease that hampered her blood to the point of anemia}, but when she feels spunky, she's off like a bat out of hell.

Ha! Ours does that too (at 5-6 months), a speed racer around the house and also outside. I thought she just like to strech her legs but maybe it is a Bichon trait. Your pup sounds like she is chasing something!
