I totally differ from the first tip he revealed out and that is "Grammar". Being a language student & teacher, what I learned from my practical experiences is to put "Fluency" first and "Grammar" second! Meaning that at initial stage just try to become fluent whether you speak grammatically right or wrong. It's strange, but true! Because, if you just try to take care of grammar first, you may get confused with your own sentences and once you 've improved fluency then grammar can work better.

but my personal tips are : 1) whenever you watch any movie in your mother tongue , try to translate the dialogues in English in the real time. 2) Always try to think in English. 3) Work-out what kind of sentences you have to speak daily in your school/college/office/ with your friends etc. and translate them into English before the time.
