Yeah, the 3 stages repeat themselves, but they get a little different and more hard each time. So it isn't exactly a repeat.

It's true. It's a game glitch. More than likely, it's achieved by being able to press up and down at the same time with a modified controller (in this case, made possible with an emulator)

That's a glitch in the game, you don't need any emulator, cheats, etc to be able to do it. Unless they fixed it in an unofficial or very recent release, going down the non-existent ladder should work.

I can't get that first ladder glitch to work. Do you need to nail it on the first try? Is it the USA or Japanese rom? and is it a certain ver of rom?

This reminds me of the old COlecovision DK glitch when you'd take partially climb the 1st ladde, back down, 2 steps to the left and jump to the right. Depending on the rom version you would either go right through to the 2nd screen or you would fly through th air to the top of the screen where DK is :P I always liked that trick :)

this glitch is easy to do in real time. just press down on the first possible frame that you can climb the ladder. im sure with that with the discovery of this glitch, there will be a race to obsolete the non-tas version!
