Listen! Here is what happens. As singers, when we age, there comes a point where the voice cannot get any better, but begins to regress. It is called aging. Sure she is not the powerhouse she once was, but I think that for where she is in life, she sounds pretty darn great!!! I can only hope that my technique will be even a bit as good as hers when I get older.
@artbowl123: sorry for "commenting" 4 months later, but in Lied, Jessye sang this way, not with more sound, especially in a mezzo range and in this Brahms ensemble. She is not "voiceless", I find it appropriate to this repertoire (even if her portamenti are a bit too much for me).
I think this is from an all Brahms concert put together by The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. There is another set of videos from this same night with Pinky and David Golub (seen here playing piano) along with other friends playing the Brahms Piano Quintet in F minor. I believe it is from the late 80s.
This is Jessye singing the same song at her best:

he started badly, she is too slow, voiceless compared with the great singer she once was... this must be 2000 or after.

Impossible, the pianist David Galloup died in 2000 from throat cancer , I will say it took place between 1997 and year 2000
