@whosowned4 I supose you could do, however shannox would get the buff pretty early if one dog died. The healing required from that one dog being dead is probably higher than if it was alive, due to shannox being enraged. Interesting idea though.

Killing Rage asap, then Shannox to 35, kill Riplimb, nuke Shannox is a lot easier. The 30% more dmg from shannox is way less then the damage from the dog.

We actually find it easier to heal through the buff than both dogs... but that's mainly because of group balancing I guess.

@whosowned4 if either dog was killed, there is probably no way you could heal through the resulting enrage effect. Also, itis imperative that Riplimb stay alive so that the offtank can clear the stacks off of the main tank by using the crystal traps. Good thought, but very unlikely to ever work.

ok so my guild has been trying this kill and we get to somewhere in the range of 10% or less health and his spear throws into the ground wipe us all...

it hits for 100k each time and is only about 15-20 seconds until the next so our healers cant heal up the whole raid in time. we tried being at max distance from shannox to lower the aoe damage from this but its not working out. do you have any suggestions?

The AoE damage from the spear landing is very very low, however the swirly flames if they hit you will do, like you seem to suggest, 100k ish. Put a healer on each tank and one healer on covering the raid damage from the swirls. The damage should be easily healed up if you do everything correctly. However there is ALOT of room for player fault.

@FatbossTV The Magma Rupture AoE damage is weak at first, but it gives a stacking debuf that increases fire damage taken by +40%, so it gets out of control pretty quick. At 4 stacks or more, the raid is in serious trouble. Shannox casts Magma Rupture every 17 seconds, so it doesn't take long to get the stacks into deadly territory.

@js412 Honestly, it may be the healers fault. 15-20 seconds should be an extremely decent amount of time to heal the entire raid. If not, your configuration may not be viable. If you cant heal the entire raid in this time, bear in mind that beth'tilac and majordomo require you to heal the raid within 3-10 seconds per cleave/aoe lol

I'm tanking Riplimb, and right now i'm continously running him around into crystal traps some of them trapping him and others not working, but your commentary cleared it up, but I think my question is should I stand near a crystal prism trap and before Shannox hurls his spear, do I put Riplimb through a crystal trap so that way it takes time for him to get out, retrieve spear to Shannox, and come to me, thus resetting the stacks? I'm confused in that.

You solved it yourself yes. Soon as you see the spear cast, run him over a trap. Spear lands, he's trapped. Still trapped, still trapped, trap ends, he runs to the spear, he runs to the boss, both tanks drop their stack. You can use this method for Heroic Mode also ;)

A easy way to drop stacks off the tanks, if you cant manage to freeze trap Riplimb around the time of the spear throw, the main tank needs to kite Shannox in a large circle by strafing. When Riplimb tries to return the spear Shannox, he wont be there and inturn will be kiting both Shannox in Riplimb till both tanks stacks drop.

the only thing i can think of is that mumble MUST be running before you boot your game of choice, other than that you might want to try going to the mumble website
