@MrMcMiniMidgetMan, If your just looking for a starter car, or just to have some fun on smooth flooring surfaces a cheaper car will be fine bro. I've been racing for a few years now, ya gotta start somewhere. If your looking for a good starter car, I would recommend the Hpi E-10. It's a decent RTR (ready to run) car, with a good selection of hop up (modified) parts. Right out of the box you can go have fun. Good luck starting in this sport!! Just be patient bro, its not as easy as ya think.

you can go to ebay and purchase them if you ant to save money, good brands of tires include yokomo tires, hpi racing tires, imex, etc or get generic tires from like r2hobbies or other cheap site, remember if its slick plastic and smooth tread, it is a begginner tire it will slide more easy but less speed, with the pro tires, they are real treaded rubber tires, they take more skill to drift however these are competition grade tires! buy extras

sorry i got to say this YOU DONT BUY THESE BODIES PRE DONE! these are clear bodies that you have to cut out yourself, paint and vinyal! alot of work goes into them, you can buy pre painted and cut bodies but expect to pay a CRUD TON and like expect to do alot of work, as for the cars buy a hpi e10, best choice for beginners or a sprint 2 drift, you put work into these cars stock sucks so tune it, my e10 started as crap, now has about 4 times the power and is worth $700 and drift for 5 sponsors

Excuse my not knowing but how do you get them to drift I have had petrol powered cars and they have alot of power and don't drift

@rooneyio im not sure if anyone has told you yet... but in order to drift you need specialized drift tyres, which are ussually made of plastic, once you get good at using plastic you can upgrade to hardened rubber (but you have to drive faster to drift) most people stick with the plastic and they also use drifting gyros...
