  • Pleez is it good if I'm 11 and I kick 25yards???

  • finally a good video on youtube about how to kick a field goal. awesome video man

do you think you can put a video about how to do a good onside?

  • @leekrumnow80 sorry it's taken me so long to get back to everyone. i have been extremely busy for the past several months...i will work on an onside video as soon as the weather permits.

  • @finklekicker sounds good

  • finally a good video on youtube about how to kick a field goal. awesome video man

  • Wow. I'm 11 and I've been kicking since I was nine but still can only kick 25 yards. Is that good?

  • Oh well i live in iowa so ig that wont be happenin but if I posted a video of like 15 kicks from different angles, do you think you could tell me how to work on my form? I just transitioned to ground kicking yesterday too whoohoo lol

  • @kickflipmonkeyman Yes I would be glad to look at your kicks...However, lately I've been getting a lot of messages from young kickers kicking off of the ground. The only reasons you should be kicking off of the ground are if you are in college, transitioning from high school to college, or trying out for a pro team and that's essentially what this video is for. If you are in high school use the block. I plan to do a video soon of why young kickers should not kick off of the ground.

  • im in 8th grade, the first day i started kicking this year i was making 43 yarders by 8 yards. then i tore my hip flexor and have lost a lot of distance what should i do

  • @waggett09...hip flexors are a tough thing to get over. i struggled with them my entire career. unfortunately, until it heals, the distance won't come back. you need to see your teams physical therapist. usually they will have you icing it, stretching it, electric shock therapy...that kind of stuff. but do me a favor when you get back to full strength. i tell all kickers this but most don't get it. don't try to kick 60 yard field goals...it doesn't matter how far you can kick...

  • @finklekicker ....the only thing that matters is how accurate and consistent you are from the distance you can kick...the distance will come as you get older so don't focus on how far it goes. you will rarely get a chance to kick a really long range field goal...if you do it will be at the end of a half or the end of a game which is still rare. plus if you try to kick for distance your hip flexor problems will get worse. how do i know? because i was the kid trying to kick 65 yard field goals!

  • Hey finkle wha state do u live in? Im looking for a mentor, ive had no training as a kicker and my form is kinda wack but i max out at about 45 yards so i figured if i had someone kinda mentor me I could kick to my fullest potential... And another question... did u make it into a league, your form is really good and it gives me hope too learn

  • @kickflipmonkeyman I live in Tennessee. I have not tried out yet. I am planning on doing more arena tryouts in December. I have planned on doing it several times but, unfortunately, life is what happens when your making other plans and I haven't had a chance to do so. Hopefully this December will work out. Thanks for your comment and let me know if I can help.

  • @finklekicker i live in Tennessee too

  • Hello.. so im brazilian and i was an exchange student in high school in the USA.. since my school didnt have soccer.. i played football and i loved.. and of course i was the kicker hehe.. well.. i learned how to kick field goal from the block but from the ground i just CANT... i just watcher your video and im gonna try tomorrow or saturday what you said .. btw.. im playing football in Brazil so i dont really have that much support you know so im kind lost looking for videos hehe.. see you then

  • Ive been kicking feildgoals since July of this year, after i went to a football kicking camp in WV, i kick just like that video, just i look up before i kick causing if to og eles where, im a freshman in high school. Im the only one in my high school that kicks off the ground, and if hit one from the 30 yd line. what can i do to keep my head down.

  • @bmorris640489 Just...keep your head down man. No big secret. There's no technique. I guess try to keep your head down until your kicking foot hits the ground? Also, there is no reason for you to be kicking off of the ground in high school. You can use a block so do it. Especially if you are a freshman and have only been kicking since July. What most people don't understand is that kicking takes YEARS to get good at and your not ready to kick off the ground after four months of kicking.

  • @finklekicker My coach says i do better kicking off the ground than on the block, when i use the block i always hit it, and get no distance. I am the starting feild goal kicker. Also, I was taught to kick off the ground, never off a block. I max out at 40 yard as of right now.

  • @bmorris640489 I still recommend kicking off of the block in high school... if you are hitting the block that's because you are planted in front of it... pland with the front part of your foot lined up with the back of the tee. I strongly discourage you kicking off of the ground right now. If you get consistent off of the block your max on field goals will be much more than 40 yds. Use the advantage of the block while you can and don't kick off of the ground until you have to.

  • @finklekicker alright i may try that thanks

  • I meant dang on that first word...not sang

  • @nathoni89 Glad to hear I could help!

  • Sang, you've kicked for a long time. I was first interested as an eighth grade and am now a freshman, only have been doing it for a year... I've figured nothing out but the foot position I can never get right, but thank you I kicked today for the first time after seeing your video and it has helped me out a lot

  • Wow...how long ago did you first start kicking?

  • @nathoni89 When I was around 9 or 10. I am 27 now and still don't have it all figured out. It's a constant learning experience. Your body changes so you have to adapt with what your body will allow you to do.

  • wats your farthest field goal

  • @guitarguyfrommars in a game my longest is 51

  • i can hit a fortyfive off a 2 inch block, but off the ground i struggle with a PAT?

  • @mr3pointspecialist24 ... yeah it's a different thing all together... if you are in high school don't worry about kicking off of the ground. use the block while you can and worry about kicking off of the ground when you get to college

  • @mr3pointspecialist24 i made it to the field after practice today and after i tilted the ball towards the holder like you showed i was making a 35 consistently!thanks so much

  • @finklekicker

so i did that exploding thing like you said, and it made a night and day difference, SERIOUSLY! I am hitting 40 yarders with no wind COSISTENTLY! I could probably hit them further, but I'm working on getting a consistent technique first. thanks so much. I have learned more from you kicking than any video or anything. I will post a video soon when I get a chance to go to the field so you can see better.

  • @vterm awesome man!!! i thought that might make a difference!

  • hey man its me again, gosh havent been on here in a while, but yeah,im the startin kicker for college now =)

  • hey man its me again, gosh havent been on here in a while, but yeah,im the startin kicker for college now =)

  • @Voltnies26 that's great news! what school? keep me posted and congratulations!

  • @finklekicker ohio state man!!

  • @Voltnies26 for real? what's your name?

  • @finklekicker Russel Doup

  • yeah I understand. i've watched the video multiple times. I just seem to be doing something wrong. I'll send you a video in a couple days to let you critique it. thanks.

  • hey I need some help on where to hit the ball with my foot. could I get your email address so I can send you a vid. I think I might either be scooping it or hitting at the very bottom. I can hit 40-45 when I'm doing good though

  • @vterm ...i explained this in the video... it's in the first minute if you want to go back and watch it... and as far as a video goes... just upload it on youtube and send me a link and i'll be glad to take a look at it

  • @PHStatic.... i am about 50 yards away from the tree... if you are hitting the ground it is because your drive step is too big. if the ball is not traveling far it is probably because you are scooping rather than driving through the ball but it is hard to say without being able to actually see you do it... if you have a video i will take a look at it

  • do cleats matter? because i'm trying to make a decision on whether or not to buy a pair of cleats.

  • @unorthadoxcreator yes they make a big difference

  • @finklekicker i'm guessing they help with the drive step and the plant foot? the only reason i'm asking is because i want to get a pair, but i wanna do my homework before i invest.

  • @unorthadoxcreator yes that's the reason... when you really start kicking with power, it's nearly impossible to get a proper plant and drive without cleats... get name brand cleats... should run you anywhere between 60 and 150 bucks but sometimes you can find them cheaper and sometimes more expensive... also the cleats compress around your foot to give you a solid hit...you should get your cleats a half size smaller than your normal size as well

  • would baseball cleats work? because i found a pair of baseball cleats in my basement that fit me fine. and they seem to be pretty good kicking shoes, haven't tried yet, because of the snow on the ground, but i think it might work.

  • i would not even attempt baseball cleats for two reasons... they aren't allowed in football if they are metal tipped and because soccer cleats are better... get soccer cleats

  • Alright, soccer cleats it is then... What type would you recommend for low cost+quality? I have three choices of brands: nike, reebok, and adidas.

  • personal preference... doesn't matter

  • Hey Buddie! Why is it that almost every time I kick the ball it shoots out as a spiral?

  • @AMAN8199 ... it is because you are not hitting the ball directly in the middle

  • hi i seen your video i rating to your video and i subscribe

  • Hey man thanks so much. I just started thinking about kicking recently but im thinking of waiting until my senor year. Im 16, 5'7 and only about 125 pounds but I really want to improve. Its been about 3 months since I acually kicked with the goal posts but my max then was only 26 yards. Im still learning to get all the little things down but I know I should be kicking further than what I am now. I've never played sports but almost played JV WR last year but things just didnt work out. thanks man

  • This is a great video.. it helped me on a lot of things but i have one question.. my friend and i kick it with no tee and we cant seem to get height on it.. we dont know if were doing anything wrong.. plz help

  • how old are you?

  • Hey man, i've seen about every video on youtube relating to kicking, and i'm now just coming across yours! thanks for going in depth in your video, great help. Hope to see more!

  • Hey great vid man I am 12 and I kick for my 7 grade football team i have played soccer for all my life and so I kick soccer style my longest in a game is 36 and I can almost hit a 40 in practice so I was just wondering if you had any tips on how to kick the ball farther but still maintain accuracy?

  • for right now, since you are only 12, i wouldn't worry about getting more distance... your body is still developing and if you try to add too much power and distance it can develop bad habits when your body fully develops which would hold you back even more... i would concentrate on being accurate and consistent for right now and as your body develops and matures the distance and power will come... you'll start to see it happening when you're around 13 or 14... best of luck!

  • Wait, is the kicking block required in high school? Because if it isn't then wouldn't it be better to just not use the block at all and not have to make a transition from block to ground?

  • no it isn't required to use the block but it does help with gradually getting better... the biggest problem with young kickers is trying to get good as fast as possible and it just isn't going to happen that way... my advice is to use the block at least for a little while until you have refined your technique and gain confidence... kicking off of the ground is very very frustrating at first

  • For some reason when i try to kick field goals i just cannot kick soccer style with the side of my foot......i try to, but i just end up toe poking it anyway(even though i can hit a 35 yarder that way ). Any suggestions?

  • where should your knee of the kicking leg be when you are about to kick the ball? should your legs be bent when your about to kick, or should the leg be strait?

  • just let it snap into the ball naturally

  • Comment removed

  • is what you said about getting the middle of your foot even with the middle of the ball at 3:42 just a personal preference or kind of a requirement, i kick with my ankle about even with it but i'm doing good with it, i can make from 40-43 as my long, what would you say in my technique would boost my range?

  • that's fine... everyone is different... some people have to plant a little bit behind the ball in order to catch the ball on the upswing of their leg... i would really have to see your technique in order to help you more fully

  • Help me! When i kick i am usually not consistent. When i kick it good, its excellent but sometimes i whiff it and its terrible. any advice?

  • it's like anything else in life.. the more you do it, the better and more consistent you will get...the first time you shot a basketball, or hit a baseball or played an instrument, it wasn't good was it? same thing here... kicking is difficult and it takes a long time to become proficient with it. it will take you years to become really good at it but it is worth the time if you have a passion for it

  • when i kick the football, instead of the ball going end over end, it is a perfect spiral. can you tell me what im doing wrong?

  • you're swinging your leg across the ball... kick straight through it

  • When i kick,it feels like im hitting it hard but its not going as far as it should,is there something holding the ball back? I use a 2 inch tee, could that be it?

  • no it's not the tee... you're probably just hitting it "fat" which is what happens when you feel like you've hit it good but it doesn't really go anywhere... also it could be because your ball isn't inflated enough.

  • This video helped so much. I have a broken thumb right now so my coach wants me practice kicking

  • i knew coming back to this vid wud help my mistake has been wid the steps ive jus been running at the ball i didnt use a jab or a power drive thanks man

  • I learned the same way you did, the way you showed first. And I've been somewhat successful on my high school team. I've made every extra point, thanks to a good snapper and holder, but from about 40 and out, it's more height and no distance. Now I tried the second technique shown, my toe hits the ground and I've had a painful ankle for a week haha. Any suggestions? Appreciate it.

  • the first way I showed (wedge technique) is a good way to kick and you can get some good distance out of it but you have to have some super strong groin muscles and even then you can get a lot of pulls and strains. if you are hitting your toe it could be because of two reasons... one you could be pointing it down to much and not pointing it out enough... and two you could be straight over the ball... try to lean off and put more torque in it... you want your toes to graze the grass with toes

  • Alright. Appreciate it buddy

  • Okay, I've got the foot angle now. The ball is traveling 55 to 60 yards but I would like to get more height. Do I need more hop in my second step? More lean? What do you suggest?

Also, I've heard something about "Canter" kicking. What exactly is this?

    Appreciate it man

  • the height will come... your second step isn't the problem... lean will help you you and point your toe as much as you can... the canter position is with your foot straight down... not many use this anymore... the only one i can think of is martin gramitica but i don't think his is exactly true canter. you'll get great height this way but you will sacrifice distance.. also this way if you don't know how to use it you will line drive a lot of kicks

  • My boy is trying to learn how to kick field goals (5th grade) and I appreciate the teaching aid alot.

  • glad it helped!!! feel free to ask me anytime you have any questions

  • This is a very helpful video.i am going to be a senior in high school this year and i am kicking for the football team as well as playing soccer.this video was very helpful to me, thank you.

  • ya your right, but im sure you know just as much as me that sometimes the coach pefers his QB to be down there to hold the ball just incase of a fake, and even when the kicker tells him whats going on, it doesn't help!!

  • yeah that's true but a GOOD coach will undederstand and find someone who is better

  • kicking off of a t will cause you to not be as consistant, maybe in practice with a holder but not in games, becuase you have to worrie about if the QB will put it the right way on the t and about half the time, the QB is not consistant at doing that so it causes you to be inconsistant

  • well actually if you have a good holder whether it is a QB, punter receiver or whatever, you will practice it enough and they will be consistent. it's not a bad thing to kick off of a tee in high school. if your holder isn't consistent putting the ball down then he shouldn't be holding and any coach who has any sense will know this and pull your holder if he isn't consistent and find a new one

  • Hey, im a kicker from Colorado. Im going to Adams State as a freshmen starting kicker, this video is prob 100 percent true, placement, technique are huge huge parts in the kicking game. Good job man

    Albert Padilla

  • heyy you should make a kickoff video!!!

  • I am great with field goals but. I want to be good at kickoff's too, in 9th grade what yard line do u kick off from? Do you know?

  • 40 yard line

  • Thanks dude

  • and you can use a 2inch Kickoff tee,

  • Thanks for the adise. could you make a kickoff video? That would be helpful! Thanks.

  • Cool video..couple of questions, How big should the shoe be on your kicking foot? I have great accuracy but and kick 35-45's good...... but.... Any tips of how i can get better leg strength?

  • the shoe you wear should be a half size to a full size smaller than your regular shoe. leg strength comes with time. you will get stronger the more you do it... lift weights too and stretch a lot

  • how can i work on my form. great video dude

  • watch others and video yourself to find mistakes you might be making

  • o by the way im only in 8th grade

  • thanks man ive been havin trouble gettin lift off the ground!! i dont use a block but its hard gettin lift!! please help me!! hurry and post more videos

  • if you're only in eighth grade... use a block!

  • first i want to say thanks for the video; its helped a lot and second i want to say i have played soccer for 9 years and now i want to convert to kicker...umm well i am a girl and right now i am confidently kicking 38 yards from the field goal. i cant seem to improve past that?? what can i do to improve over the summer??

  • great!!!! glad to hear you want to be a kicker! if you are kicking 38 yard field goals that is great! it doesn't matter how far you can kick a field goal.... it only matters how consistent you are from where you can make them... to improve distance... lift weights but don't overdo it.... light weight at high reps is best... also do a lot of sprinting and explosive exercises and if your into yoga or kickboxing that helps too. let me know if you ever need anything else... best of luck!!!

  • Exelent video. I watch this over and over because I was just appointed kicker on my team.

  • thanks bro, this year im going to be a senior and im going for kicker, used to be a soccer player, but football is much different to me. anyways thansk for the video n i have the same shoes as urs hah

  • In soccer you kind of bend the knee of your PLANT leg to get underneath the ball . Should one come in straight or bent on that plant leg or is it just preference?

Also, with your KICKING foot, do you strike the football with the same part of the foot (upper instep) on kicks off a tee as you showed us for kicks off the ground?

Thx so much. Ur videos are great and good luck with AFL next year if you do.

  • your plant leg should be locked as much as possible but there will be some bend to it probably... don't over exaggerate it though as you would in soccer. try to lock it out but your body will produce some bend naturally. and yes... you do strike it with the same part when kicking off with a tee as you would on the ground. thanks for the comment!

  • dude awsome vid man im trying to become a kicker for my local youth team but im in england and we never use a block no matter what age so this is really great good luck at the afl trials

  • Have you done much kickoff kicking and know the steps for that... i really like your videos there very helpful and im looking for some pointers and step for kickoffs

  • yeah i kicked off all through high school and college too... it's different for everyone... i have been ill for some time and will put up a kickoff video when i get better... glad you liked the video and found it helpful

  • I hope you are feelign better soon. I would love a video on kick offs.. i will check in a while to see if you have made on yet. Thank you

  • Thanks for sharing. I'll share this with my son when he gets a little older.

  • hey back again i have not told you this but ive been trying to convert from toe ponking a ball to soccer style but right now i dont know whats wrong but i cant kick it worth a crap it wont go off the ground but when i toe poke it it goes far

  • it's not going to come overnight... it takes work... be patient and it will come

  • what will go farther with a tee or with a fake kicking holder that kickers use on the sideline before a big kick or just to practice.

  • depends on what you feel more comfortable with... in high school you can kick off of a block for field goals and any size tee you want for kickoffs... in college and pros you must kick off of the ground for field goals and a one inch tee is all that is allowed for kickoffs in the pros... as far as how far it will go... it makes no difference... the fake holder you speak of just simulates what a holder's hand would feel like

  • hey im back again what do you think would go farther kicking with ur toe or with soccer style

  • soccer style... toe kicking is virtually ancient and no one uses it... with soccer style you are able to use more muscles in the leg and become more accurate

  • i really enjoyed this video. Im trying to teach myself how to kick soccer style cause its better i was the kicker for my high school team got a school record for pats and my long was 50. now 6 years later im getting back into kicking and kicking with my toe just aint going to cut it (i have fractured it once already lol) Im trying out for a semi pro team in knoxville tn Seems like im good from 40 now but thats it any advice you can give someone new to this style on kicking the ball longer

  • i'd have to actually see you kick to give you any advice... it will be difficult for you to transition to soccer style just like it is very difficult for me to kick with my toe. just work endlessly at it.... and if you make the team in knoxville let me know and i'll come watch! i live just a few hours away in west tennessee

  • any tips on how to kickoff? like any difference or way to transition? I feel like i kick better from 3 feet back and 2 feet to the left (field goal set up) than I do far back

  • it varies from person to person... no right or wrong distance... just whatever you feel most comfortable with and what gives you the best results

  • Thats the best video to learn how to kick a field goal soccer style.. 65 years is really impressive so good luck in your tryout to AFL

  • thanks for the comment! since the arena league has disbanded for the 2009 season it won't be until next year when i try out.

  • i dont know why but when i try to kick the ball it would just bounce off the floor i would get lucky and make some and is it good to use regular football cleats because i see some football kickers use soccer cleats and my longest feild goal was a 35 yard i want to know how to improve HELP!!!!

  • most kickers use soccer cleats because they kick "soccer style." i recommend soccer cleats or specially made kicking shoes ( i've used both and there isn't much difference between the two). if the ball is hitting the ground then you are hitting it way to high... you want to kick the ball on the bottom 1/3. it's hard for me to tell you exactly what to do to improve without seeing you or you being very specific in what you are doing

  • Hey man hows it goin, Im gonna be trying out for kicker at open tryouts for an arena league football team, you said you have tried out before, what should i look for or be prepared for? Ive played soccer all my life, but just want to try out and see if i have a chance. thx!

  • you'll see a lot of great talent... at my tryout there were around 70 kickers. 40 of which had some real talent however, you will have the occasional 50 year old man going through a mid life crisis who thinks he can make it... i saw several of these and when they saw the talent they quickly left the tryout. you'll have some ex nfl players, afl kickers who have been released and guys just out of college trying to land a job.

  • thanks this helps

  • im just a kid responding off my auntys you tube account and i can kick off the ground already and make about 20 yard feld goals with my collage ball.what collage did you play at and whats your farrthest feild goal pleas respond.

  • i played at the university of tennessee at martin. my longest field goal in a game is 51 yards. i kicked it my sophomore year in college... most of my field goals came in the range of 40-49 yards because the team i played for was very bad during the time i played and we never really got a whole lot closer than that. i played three years, attempted 31 field goals and made 23 of them

  • what do you prefer is better toe style or soccer style

    .

  • soccer style is better hands down no questions asked... toe kicking is an example of doing something before a better way is discovered... kind of like the persimmon golf head in the beginning and titanium of today... titanium is no doubt better and this is relative to soccer style kicking as opposed to toe kicking... go with soccer style

  • which type cleat do you prefer, I have some Under Armour football cleats and a pair of Mitres also. I played soccer for 7 years but im still having trouble kicking far and am still curious about the whole wind-up stuff. I know all the tips are in your video, but I am lefty and its semi-diffrent. I think the farthest i've made a field goal would be from the 20-yrd line and im 14. Is that bad? I also punt for my high school team and would like to try being kicker next fall. Tips? THXXX SO MUCH!!

  • it's not how far you kick it. it's how consistent you are from where you can... you're only 14 and the distance will come later as your body matures.cleats are personal preference. i prefer the nike air tiempo with off-center laces or any kind of puma.i'm not wearing them now because i don't have a team that provides them for me anymore lol!. as far as being a lefty. there is absolutely no difference. just watch other kickers and mimick them(especially david akers and janikowski are also leftys)

  • aha cool video but im sure people driving by are thinkin ur the son of uncle rico or somethin

  • hahaha!!!! touche! never thought about it that way but your right!

  • any tips?

  • get light weight cleats and keep practicing and practicing... unless you plan on becoming a bare footed kicker it will develop bad habits if you go back and forth between shoes and no shoes.

  • what college did u kick at?

  • i kicked at the universtity of tennessee at martin... and since you are only thirteen i would advise you to use a block... your body is still growing so give it some time... when you get older and have a better understanding of kicking you will be able to transition to kicking off of the ground and get plenty of height... so get the block back out and use it while you can

  • and how do u put all that hiegth into your kicks, im only thirteen and havnt kicked on a block in a year but i think that transition from the block to the ground would have kicked in

  • i cant kick with shoes on, every time i try in cleats i lose heith and its pretty much just a shank

  • Thanks for the great tips, I've been studying this video for a week or so and i am already seeing a lot of improvement in my kicks.. Good luck with your football career!!

  • nice video, you should say somewhere that for new kickers, they should try not using a block so they won't have to make the transition later

  • this is unbelievably helpful. this video helped me make my highschool team and we are going down state in a week. best of luck for you on your career and thank you so much for this awesome video!!

  • wow!!! that's awesome man!!! keep up the good work and thanks for the kind remarks!!!

  • Dude, Thanks for the post although the vid's beginning was a little shaky the vid's substance was great. I'll try your tips tommorow. Thanks for the video.

  • this is the best video i've seen, it has helped a lot you're awesome. i went out after watching this and i saw results, or getting rid of bad habits. other videos didn't help....good luck to you...

  • awesome man! thanks for the comment! best of luck

  • Wow, you're really good! Thanks a lot, I'm trying out to be a high school kicker next season, and it helps to see someone else perform and see some practice techniques. I can really set my goals now. What college team did you play for and what AFL team are you trying out for? Good luck, hope you do really well!!

  • Thanks for the kind words! I played college ball at the University of Tennessee at Martin. I am trying out for a couple of AFL teams soon but I don't know which ones yet.

  • Best tutorial I've found. Thanks!

Now... how about that punting video?

  • i'm working on it... i've been swamped with school but i'll try to get it up soon.

  • Cool man. BTW, I nailed a 38 yd fieldgoal into the wind in a flag football playoff game last night. That's my personal best in a game. (I just started kicking 9 weeks ago.) I couldn't have done it without your help.

  • great job!!! i am very glad i was able to help you! keep up the good work!

  • This is a really good explanitory video not like those 2 minute ones that don't even help.I kick for my high school but i toe poke, on the off-season i'll work on this way. Thanks a lot!

  • i'm glad you found it useful... there's nothing wrong with toe poking... if that's what works do it!... it's just not very common any more and if you can get the hang of soccer style you will like it much better... but if you have any questions just let me know!

  • ok another question I tried those things out that you told me to do. I can get the ball pretty high but i can only make like a 25-30 yard field goal. How can I still kick the ball high but far at the same time? I would appreciate your answer thanks.

  • if you are kicking it high and short it is probably because you are scooping the ball and not kicking through the ball... keep your toes pointed and drive through it... this will give you height and distance... it won't come over night but it will eventually get there... you just have to keep working on it

  • OK I will try those things out thankyou for your time and goodluck to you with your kicking you look like you're kicking it far but good luck.

  • thanks man! best of luck to you

  • Question, after I kick the ball (Im a right footed kicker) with my plant foot do i do that little skip thing or do i keep it planted? And how do you build up your leg muscles to be able to kick it farther and higher?

  • the skip is not something that should be concious... your momentum should be carrying you forward so yes there should be a skip... if there is not a skip then you are not kicking through the ball at maximum momentum... the leg muscles will come as you work out with your team and their specific lifting program... do lunges, squats (not too much weight though), toe raises and box jumps should all help... and stretch more than you need to

  • thankyou

  • isnt the ball supose to churve when its in the air the bend i got so it does that but something when i kick it the ball just go very f**in high when i do it short range

  • you're scooping the ball if it is going high and short... drive through it

  • when ever i kick a field goal it goes high for ten yard the fails down. what am i doing wrong do u know what could be?

  • i would really have to see you kick to be able to tell you what you're doing wrong... most likely though you are scooping the ball and slowing your leg speed down

  • * now when I kick the ball it goes in a bending motion then it angles into the up right isnt that what is supose to happen.

  • yes that's perfectly fine.

  • nice...that's some height.

my first impression about you was "you're a place kicker???" But i can tell you know a good deal about kicking. Thanks and good luck.

  • haha! i know! i used to be in great shape but now since i have stopped playing i have put on the pounds... i appreciate the well wishes!

  • Excellent video.

  • thanks!!!
