  • excellente version!!!!!

  • в исполнении ШЕР эта песня мне нравится больше всего

  • @MrVarg777 I used an online translator. Thank you for your comment, and hello from the other side of the world. I am glad you enjoy the song.

  • I'm partial to Del Shannon's take myself.

  • Cher is one of the ONLY singers who can turn somebody else's song in a complete one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Listen to "All I Really Want To Do", "Blowin' In The Wind", "Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay", "For What It's Worth", "Sunny", "Walking In Memphis", etc. and the list goes on.

  • Sorta like Mountain of Love; so many people recorded it's hard to know who did it first or who it's best known for, depending on where you where when the various versions were aired.

  • Why do diva's have plastic surgery?,,,,,,,, age and gravity,,,,it's what happened to me! We're the same age

Schlecht

  • I LOVE this song and Sonny wrote it !! It is incredibly amazing and NO ONE sings it like CHER !!

  • i've LOVED EVERY VERSION OF THIS SONG!!!!LOVE THIS ONE AS WELL!!!!

  • RIP Sonny... You were so much more talented than that bimbo "Cher"...

  • @Chriscurtisfan : i totally agree. The Searchers 1964 studio version is 'Perfection on Legs' standing way above All other versions !!

  • Dear Cher, love it!

  • Stop now, stop this song, Cher... Somebody take her away...

  • Stop now, stop this song, Cher...

  • This is awesome! I love this song and it's extra special as Sonny Bono co-wrote! Thank you very much for sharing this!! :)

  • I like it! To find out all these years later that she had recorded Sonny's hit...

  • i had to restart this video. it was so great that I had to hear it again

  • great version, I really like it!

  • Back when Cher Sung songs written by songwriters that actually have talent. Unlike her later efforts, which are only good as a great way to keep pests away.

  • This is very very good version. But Smokie version is THE BEST :)

  • I like the work Sonny and Cher have done and love this song... but.. this vs is flat to me. Cher is putting no feeling and she even sounds off key. Listen to where the music is and where her voice is.

  • @MEDIADWG the byrds didnt like the way she did all i really want to do either

  • @spacepatrolman That's probably because the Cher version charted higher than The Byrds' version (in the US anyway). Depends on who you talk to, but I think it was more The Byrds' producer, Terry Melcher who had a problem with the Cher version. Cher had recorded the song simultaneously and Melcher was confident that he would "bury that bitch" (as he told Sonny Bono), with his Byrds production of the song.

  • @SS421982 yea I think your right althought the byrds met her at a party and said something about that the surfaris did a good version of all i really want to do but it was never a single terry melcher produced pat boone doing little honda but they pulled it when they heard the hondells on the radio

  • Best version of the song.

  • Good version, but Jackie DeShannon made the first - and best - version, which entered the Billboard chart in May 1963. Lately, it has also been revealed that she did contribute to the song.

  • Cher Does a excellent job!!

  • I'd have to say that anything Sonny Bono was involved in ended up sounding great owing to the Wall of Sound style he learned from Phil Spector.

  • Cher was so beautiful... why do people mess themselves up with plastic surgery...

  • @deweypug they get old and have problems with the visible effects of getting old? but you are right, she was beautiful...

  • @deweypug yea whats wrong with the way god made you but if your unhappy a plastic surgeon or dentist can fix it up

  • Wow Cher recorded Needles and Pins well. Loving her version.

  • @cuzitsnecessary I agree!

  • Quite interesting, but to think Sonny was the brains of that couple ... oy, gevalt!

  • I loved this version "Needles and Pins"

  • @rafciofafcio I like it a whole lot too. Thanks for your comment.

  • @rafciofafcio Listen to dont you by bobby vee it sounds like a take off on needles and pins

  • Cher's vocal doesn't do justice to the song or Sonny's spector-ish arrangement/production. defeinitely sounds like she lost interest well before the end ! Thanks for the post tho, interesting :-)

  • Fun to hear. Thanks for the upload.

  • @Alvin4NY You're welcome. I'm glad you like it.

  • I have this on 45rpm..its on imperial label

  • God document.

  • Good studio recording take by Cher and Sonny.

  • Also, Jackie Deshannon's version did not make it to the top 40. It was the Searchers who first made it a hit in March of 1964 and it was their first American hit song.

  • I remember the Searchers' version very well. Only later did I discover it was co-written by Sonny and that Jackie and Cher had also recorded it. Thanks for your comment.

  • @mparnoldy And there is nobody who can bring this song to life like the Searchers and the drumming technique of Chris Curtis!!

  • Yes, and to add to this, this version is on the flip side of Cher's 45rpm hit single of "Bang Bang" which miss the number one spot in March of 1966. It stayed at number 2 for two weeks .

  • Sonny Bono wrote the song for Jackie Deshannon who was the first to record it
