Wow, this is so cool, Mark! Congrats! I actually decicded to try and learn playing guitar, except that I am debating between acustic and classical one. Since I know how to play piano, I think guitar should not be a big problem. Anyway, it's an awesome piece;-)
hahahahaha, I know, they have a terrible acoustic sound, but the electric sound is better than any other guitar I've ever heard, and I rely on that a lot when recording. This guitar is an Alvarez. It's pretty sweet, but the pickup system I currently have in it isn't so hot.
@mskroos Yeah I was wondering about the headstock myself; I'm guessing since the strings require less length to reach over the guitar would that give it a different tone?
@mskroos This actually reminds me a lot of my Alverez 12 string. Never thought to remove the higher pitched strings to help with the tapping, but thats a great Idea!
haha, yes, good observation. That guitar was actually in the music shop where I use to teach for about 5 years. Lots of ppl would come in and play it and they'd love it, but nobody really had use for a great big 12 string. So the owner sold it to me for $200, I took off the extra strings and now it allows a lot more room for tapping. I actually just bought an ovation 12 to use for recording my new album and did the same thing with it. Thanks for viewing!
It's funny that you think such things when you're playing those pretty complex things with your guitar at the same time :D But yeah, another great one! Always a pleasure to listen these. Maybe you should make an arrangement where you use the same sounding chords, but where you also sing. How does that sound?
Your lap technique actually reminds me of Erik Mongrain. Ever heard of him?
Awesome skills anyways. Keep playing, man. :)
