Let's not forget the roots of the movement. PK was adapted from soldiers training, and can still be adapted into a situation that calls for the altruistic principles that the soliders in vietnam used it for. PK is used to be completely free in environments that restrict us, and also to learn to be free in our minds. Those are two things that feel more important than impressing. while those things can be lost in competition, i don't think that this comp will do that, we just must b cautious.

I stand by what I said, Parkour is a discipline and a sport, it's a sport because there is competition. However the only competition you have should be against yourself. I'm not saying it shouldn't get exposure and stay underground , I'm saying this is the wrong way to go about it. Parkour Generations does it the right way, look them up if you don't know them. Hippy, commercialization brings in money that improves standards and motivates people from taking things from a pass time to an elite level. All those moves you see these guys are using were invented purely as a way a expressing oneself through movement and to have fun. I don't mind showcasing parkour/freerunning to the world but don't promote it as being just another extreme sport with competitions and all that. Parkour Generations does it right, look at them to understand what parkour truly is.
