  • omg i hate this ride!! when i was there, we thought it was jst like a tour of the dinosaurs, but we were wrong... seriously, this was the worst ride i have ever been on

  • I LOVE this ride but I've gotten stuck on it so many times. Every time it breaks down long enough, you can hear another rover approach from behind you and it's so weird!

  • I rode this at the end i thought we were going inside the dino and comming out of the ......... ugh nevermind but i was scared

  • This ride and Expedition Everest are beyond epic.

  • lol when u go into the gift shop it shows in dino wandering around on a little TV xD so funny

  • its the best when you sit on the side and dont hold on and let the ride throw you around

  • oh my god i love this ride

  • I couldn't find any compsognathus

  • this is my favorite disney thrill ride.

  • Does a dinosaur really chase you???

  • @yannkzzzzz745 An animatronic carnotaur chases the vehicle briefly.

  • @yannkzzzzz745 Do you mean literally, or story-wise?

  • i remember when me and my friend went on this and when we saw the big t rex he said i though you were on jurassic park oh good times good times

  • do the dinos touch or breath on you?

  • @memomgirl No, it isn't like Alien Encounter where the creatures fully interact with the audience.

  • is there a drop in the ride and is it as steep as the Jurassic Park ride's drop at Universal??

  • @Bunnigrl3 Technically there are several drops on this ride but all of them are short, not too steep, and are speed controlled

  • aw man i was scared of a machine

  • i got on this ride.. last summer! it was awesome.:))

  • IS THERE A DROP VIN THIS RIDE

  • @3Dfan9 no its goes like 30mph tops not fast and no drops dinosaur when it screams in your face you shit your sen and ots takes a picture at that time ;)

  • @chrisizher23 It only goes 14 mph.

  • @roihoxai yer w.e point is, it isn't fast

  • @3Dfan9 This isn't really a roller coaster. It's a shell of a car on a motion base platform. Because of that, the ride's creators can program all the movements of the passenger shell to simulate rugged terrain. The programmers threw a few bucks and turns that will whip you around a lot!

  • This ride rocks!!!!!!!!! It is one of my all time favorite rides of all time. It rules!!!!!!!!!!!!! It isn't scary at all. This ride is tied as my favorite along with Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Everest, and Tower of Terror. Some of my friends can't go on it because they have seizures and if they go on this ride they'll have attacks because of all the strobe lights.

  • This ride is intense!!!

  • after the ride when you go back thu the time michine we got stuck in it in the dark lol and it was really quiet...........

  • is there drops on this ride

  • @wheels687 Kinda. It's after Seeker shouts "Brace yourselves! This is it!" and then the carnotaurus pops out during the asteroid impact

  • Actually, thanks to videos like this, i was able to see the whole ride when i went on last summer.

  • I rode this a few hours ago. I went REAL quiet the entire time. I'm gonna get teased for this, but...I shut my eyes the entire time. But I didn't scream. Advice for newcomers: 2:38 knocked my hearing out for 10 seconds. It's that loud.

Anyone else get scared just because "Carnotaurus["Carnivore" clicked here] didn't sound friendly at all???

  • Don't wory, I didn't look either.

But I didn't shut my eyes (because I'm always tempted to open them), I grabbed the bar and looked down, so I looked like a real chicken in the pictures.

I'm going to DW next month, and I'm gonna try and look this time xD

  • I actually looked from 0:00-1:01

  • Besides the drop(Incomiinngg!) I am definitly going on that. Dinosaur was what made me like dinosaurs.

  • I was the only child im mi8 fam who didn't wanna get on this ride. Even my little 4 yr old sister went on it! Dad told me about the ride after, but when he told me about the dinosaur that chases you. I REALLY didn't wanna go on.

  • when i was 6 n the dinosaur was chasing us i thought i thought i was going to die n i came out of the ride crying and shaking.

when i was 10, the part when the dinosaur pops up at the end. i covered my ears and ducked my head n when we lookin at the pictures. my dad said where am i, n it looked like i wasnt in the ride.

next month im going to raise my head up n try to make sure i dont cry. lol

  • i love this ride, my dad get scared of the big dino and it makes me giggle :p

  • The big dinos scared me so much; I was worse than all the little kids on the ride! My pic at the end of the ride was just me ducking! XD

  • i went on this when i was like 4 & it scared the shit out of me xD !

  • It's scared me aand my 2yr old. she started to cry and i was yelling because she was so scared. i wanted to get her off of the ride that second but I could't. so when I finally did we went over to the flying dinos and then we were both happy.

  • Wow i remeber that ride i was at the very front and i creamed the place down at the end when the dinosare come out at the end :P

  • i went on it 9 times or mor in a row

  • *sigh* good times...good times...

  • legit rode this 5 times in a row last time i went. obsessed.

  • ditto, but I only went on it twice.

  • I love this ride.

  • Dang that one dino is STILL eating that other one?? Its a slow eater....haha. this ride scared me the first time i rode it!(: but i got over it...the 4th time. lol, good ride thoughhh!

  • OMG I went on this ride last feb holy crap i was scared! I sat in the front on the left!! I was screaming my head off! But it was fun! I ended up going on a 2nd time lol

  • Is this ride good for my little brother? He's 10 years old but he's such a wimp. lol

  • I went on when I was 7 and loved it, but if he's a wimp forget it. It's very scary even now that I'm 14.

  • listen just say you go back in time and see a bunch of harmless dinos and in a few minutes you go back compleatly un harmed it worked 4 me when my sister said it i still h8 her guts 4 it though lol (make sure to bring ear plugs. just a warning)

  • the ride is loud

  • this ride is crazy!! but i love it lol

  • I think this is the best ride in disney world. The first time I got on it, it stoped and we had to get off and walk out in the middle of the ride lol.

  • this IS the best ride i totally agree i cant wait to go in feb

  • I'm confused, is this a roller coaster, or just a ride?

  • Youre in a jeep type thing,no drops I dont think

  • no the track is compleatly flat no rocks no drops they just use the time rover to make it seem like there are rocks and drops

  • @wolfalynn That is false as well. There are hills and turns, the track is not always flat.

  • @roihoxai well that is what they said on the travel channel when they when they did a thing on animal kingdom

  • @wolfalynn I close the track at night. There's definitely hills lol

  • @roihoxai you? you mean you work there? AWESOME!

  • Its just a ride (:

  • 2:16 was the best part in the ride, when that thing started chasing our car i was like "go,go,go,go!!!"

  • when i first was in line for this ride i thought it was gonna be a baby ride, but i was screamin my head off the WHOLE ride!it was so loud though! and scary but i would ride it again!

  • i wanted to ride this when i was six but i couldn't find it...im going next year and this time im going on

  • This is a pretty good camera you got...

    Great ride, too.

  • I was like 7 or 8 when I went on this and I was crying like CRAZY! XD it still gives me the chills watching this

  • the best ride at animal kingdom i think is expedition everesttt but it wasn't there yet so deff best ride at the time haha

  • I spazzed out on this ride.

  • Is this like the indiana jones ride at disneyland?

  • Same kind of vehicle. Similar movements too. but I think that this is scarier and muuuch louder than indiana jones.

  • OMG sitting on the left is sooooo scary!! i cried after this ride, i was so scared! i vowed never to ride the dinosaur again! it freaked me out lol, my ears are too sensitive.

  • when i went earlier this year, me and my girls rode this ride like 4 times, and as hard as we tried not to, we screamed every time! this is one of the best rides

  • i was 4 wen i rode this and i screamed almost the whole time. ah good times =,)

  • how scary is this compared to jurrassic park at universal or the mummy ride?

    please answer someone

  • Well, if you don't like riding in a dark forest with four different experiences of a huge scary-ass dinosaur SCREAMING at you, don't ride this.

ps the mummy ride isn't scary, just AWESOME

  • well i don't know if i'll be scared of four different experiences of a huge scary-ass dinosaur screaming at me,,, could you do me a favor and rate the scaryness of this ride 1-10,,

  • Eh, first time's like 7/10, but it shrinks every time you ride it then on, down to a minimum of 3.

  • yea but is it 2 a seat, like are you only allowqed to sit next 2 one person or can it be 3 a seat

  • It's like 4 seats to a row, 2 rows per car.

  • 4 seats 3 rows

  • well at least you put on nightvision :D

  • How about i went on this ride while i was feeling sick. I had to leave the park early because i didnt feel well that day.

  • this ride is SOOOO LOUD!!! The problem is, they don't have just the Carnatarus as the loud one. EVERYTHING is loud. Still,it's not a huge deal. It is, after all the second best Animal Kingdom ride (right behind Everest) but, god, it's so loud!! like spaceship taking off loud.

  • amen. Not to mention, sitting on the far left is VERY uncomfortable, like having the Carnataurus running RIGHT NEXT TO YOU uncomfortable.

  • how short is this ride it seems pretty short

  • this ride is much better then jurassic park at IOA

  • my girlfriend almost broke my arm off she was holding it so tight, She gets scared easily kind of like me. But I like dinosaurs.

  • This is my favorite ride of all time. It was really scary and exciting. I went on this ride twice when I went to Animal Kingdom. If you like dinosaurs, thrill rides, or the Jurassic Park films, I highly recommend this ride.

  • my brother rode this and said it was really scary and the animals r really close to u keep in mine he is 10.haha! :):)

  • love this ride! i cannot tell you my brother's face when he saw all the dinosaurs popping out from the sides...too funny XD...but yes it is really loud

  • This is a pretty good camera you got... most videos of this ride are mostly pitch black, even with night vision.

    Great ride, too.

  • I'm Larry the scary rex! I'm a scary dinosaur! But don't be scared of my sharp sharp teeth, and my mighty, mighty roar! I love kids and kids love me-

    O_O

Holy crap this ride was scary... I even have the belief that it was the scariest ride at Disney World.

It reminds me of the Spiderman ride at Universal, but it's still not as cool.

  • I'm not a big fan of rides with animatronic dinosaurs on it and I went on this and I was on the side were the Carnosaurus kept showing up and if you saw the ride photo, you would see how scared I was on this.

Personally, I would like to see Disney World get a version of the Indiana Jones Adventure, that looks like more fun and not as scary.

  • man i love this ride :) its so much fun lol its sooooooooooooooooooo loud though hahaha and bumpy :D the part before you get into the ride where you can hear bill nye the science guy is good to just because everyone loves Bill Nye the science guy! hahaaha 5/5

  • I find this ride to be much scarier than Indiana Jones at Disneyland.

  • This ride was soooooo much fun, I loved that the car kept on shaking back and forth and the end of it is great! I wish I got to ride it more than once when I was there in March!!

  • I got on this ride and i was on the worst side of them all! i was right next to all the meat dinosaurs and i started screaming i went about a month ago and i'm still getting over it! i would tell anyone who has heart or back or gets scared real easy to never get on this ride not anyone!

  • It LITERALLY chases you..

it pops up in random spots..

im a 16 year old and i dont get scared easily and this ride freaks me out

but at the same time it is one of the best rides at animal kingdom and disney

  • @schwartziel I didn't see the ''carnosauras'' everyone is talking about... Seriously.. In the picture i looked stupid for not seeing it.

  • going back to disney for the 32nd time in 3 days! cant wait! this is always on my top lists of rides! this is a GREAT ride for people who cant really do roller coasters (aka my mother). but for some reason she can handle this. i remember when it was called countdown to extinction...i think all that has changed since then is the name. this is my 2nd favorite ride at Animal Kingdom...Expedition Everest definitely beats it by a long shot but it is still an AMAZING ride!

  • I thought Indiana Jones was just the show in MGM (or Holleywood now) Studios. Is/was there a ride for it in Animal Kingdom?

  • We need this at Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure!!!

  • It'll never happen, because Indiana Jones basically has the same ride vehicle and track. The ride even ends with a giant Carnotaurus head replacing the big ball.

  • indiana jones is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better....trust me

  • urm...i HAVE been on it you know =P

I was just expressing an opinion.

I also know how great Indy is - it's my favourite ride in the park :o)

  • oh ok :)

  • theyre the same thing anyway...like he said

  • I just got back from Disney World, and this was definitely my favorite ride. I was so scared my first time around, I had to tune out all my senses and think of Indiana Jones Adventure. Of course, I rode it four more times!

  • lol, sounds exciting! But, for a tiny comparison, would you say the ride is as . . bumpy as or bumpier than the Killimanjo Safari ride? Just out of curiousity; it looks like a combo between the energy ride (the dinos) and the Killimanjo ride.

  • Think of rif=ding over rough roads really really fast.(This ride only goes 14-16 mph) it's between both, only advice, hold on tight.

  • Ok, thanks for the advice! My family's going to WDW for the first time in several years. And I'm planning on going on as many thrilling rides as my stomach will allow.

  • Also, There a bit of sharp turns in this. It's dark at poins (Obvious in the video) and put loose articles in the pouch in front of you. The last thing you dont want is an employee snapping at you or stopping the ride completly. ONE more thing....It's REALLY loud.

  • lol, ok. I hardly doubt the other tourists would be happpy if the lights came on and the magic was ruined because of a dumb kid (me) forgetting to put her stuff in the pouch. Thanks for the tips!

  • Your welcome. They actually told me to put my camera away during the ride and it spoiled the magic.

  • Yeah, I have a feeling that spoiling the magic for this ride is more like revealing that cerain people did indeed wet themselves for nothing.

  • Your welcome.

  • This ride blows Jurassic Park River Adventure out of the water with Scary factor and what not.

  • rofl good times..that i dont remember :P i went on this like at age 3 and i cried rofl

  • does this ride have drops.

  • As i was trying to expain to one guy before, Yes, the ride has drops but not big ones. They are like "Pirates of the caribbean" like drops. The way the car moves through out the ride you wont feel it. The cars a motion simulator thats not fixed in front of a screen.

  • no its a motion ride its just very bumpy has no drops at all

  • This ride is awesome but it's one heck of a bumpy ride. I know the ride has to be bumpy. I love to be jerked and tossed around in motion simulators like this, so i love this ride.

  • i been so scared when the canosarous com!

  • This ride ia awesome! I luv the carnotarus

  • Can't believe I've been to Disney 8 times and I've never been on this ride . . . I've gotta go on this when I go in ten days!

  • its fun but ya dont save rexy

  • u havent bin on this ive bin 8 times aswell goin agen in august and we always ride all the rides how cud u miss this out lol its mi second fave in animal kingdom after the kali river rapids lol

  • Lol. I actually just went to Florida in April and went on this. It was great, really scary! My favorite ride is Expedition Everest though. lol

  • thats my 3rd lol

  • Can't believe I've been to Disney 8 times and I've never been on this ride . . . I've gotta go on this when I go in ten days!

  • this terrified me when it was called countdown to extinction and my mom worked for disneyworld.

obviously, i went to their hq but i had to be asleep the whole trip. secrecy thing

  • There two totally different rides...Universal studios is a joke compared to Disney.

  • Best Ride at animal kingdom BY FAR

LOL my picture on this is sooo funny !

    hah,

    love it

  • how big is the drop at the end of this ride? like splash mountain big or pirates of the carribean big?

  • pirates of the carribean big. and it's not really a drop...more like driving downhill. like you don't get that feeling in your stomach and you're not really falling.

  • Thanks roxy!

  • There are no drops in this ride. :)

The car pitches up, down, right or left to give the sensation of driving over hills, over logs, ect.

It feels like you're falling, but there is no real drop, the surface your car is on is totally flat for the entire duration of the ride. When you do the "drop" though, its not a big one.

  • well, actually, there is a drop in there. one is next to the one w/ a long neck and at the very end. they are as tall as from the top of the statues back out front of the ride to the ground.

  • I can assure you there is no drop. I just went and rode this yesterday. Even if there was drops there's none at the Brontosauras area, not even the sensation of a drop. The only area that "feels" like a drop is at the end and in an area with a Teradactol.

Travel Channel did a special on Animal Kingdom and they said in it how this ride was made and gave a behind the scenes look. There are no drops.

  • ok, but i talked to an employee there and i have on film that he's says "they are as tall as from the top of the statues back out front of the ride to the ground."

i can post it if you want me to.

  • Hey, i've been going on this ride all my life, so i should know these things. THERE IS A DROP RIGHT NEXT TO THE BRONTOSAURAS, YOU JUST CANT FEEL IT!!!

  • I've been going to Animal Kindgom, and this ride, since the park opened. I'm not going to sit here and argue as to wether or not the ride has drops. The ride does feel like it has drops, but there are no real drops....the car creates the sensation of everything. The ground is completely level.

If you want to believe there are real drops, fine. :) I'll believe what Imagineering told me that there aren't any and its all done by the car.

  • I know, i'm not trying to argue too. it just might be my imagination. i'm sorry.

  • I've looked online and it doesn't really say one way or another if there are real drops or not. The Wikipedia site does have a diagram with how the cars are designed to move but it doesn't say anything with the ride having or not having drops.

None of the Disney sites I've been to say anything in regards to drops or the lack of them either.

I'd always heared that there was no real drops. :/ Who knows.

  • true, true. i guess this will always remain a mystery until one of us become an employee there. after some thought, i'm argeeing it's the car.

  • It seems that Disney did something "imaginative" by making you think that there was a drop.

    Kudoz to Disney.

  • you can say that again. fun ride. i told my dad all about this and when we went over the summer, in september and thanksgiving day, we went on this and he really liked this.

  • i went on this ride with my 6 year old cousin thinking it was a kiddy ride. I was 18 and that ride scared the crap outta me.

  • this is my favorite ride. i always when the the front row on the very right. its a lot better on the sides bc in the middle if feels like nothing. if you go on the sides it feels like your going to fall off XD. and about the alien ride thing, they messed it up. yea i was about 8 and i cryed but! stitch??? omg stupid ppl these days..

  • I rode this back when it was Countdown to Extinction, back when I was... 10? 11? (It wasn't much different then.) I rode it the one time then never rode it again until last year. xD Now I ride it every time I go, but I still go half of the ride with my eyes covered because I haven't figured out exactly when and where the dinosaurs take a chomp at you.

  • OH! MVENT107148 I know what you talking about i used to live there but i moved to HAWAII! i miss it :-( cuz i love the theme parks and the alien thing freaked me out too and i like cried and screamed too, but im glad it turned to stitch

  • And I'm not going to lie, I have been on this ride at least 20 times, but every time I scream my head off and duck below my seat from the huge Carnotauraus at the end.

  • I always ride with my family, who are a bunch of chickens. On every ride we go on my sisters insist on sitting in the center and since I'm the oldest I have to oblige them and sit on one side. Of course I end up being the one that the dinosaur tries to EAT everytime!

  • i live in florida and enjoy disney every year this is one of my favorite rides but i got some bad news. there was a ride where they try to teleport and alien to earth but they brought a monster instead and i was only 8 years so i cried and screamed a year later they took of the rie and changed it into stitch . sry people for taking a good ride out =( i feel very guilty oh and im 13 now.

  • I want to ride this again! it's been years...I can't wait to get back to Florida!

  • I LOVED this ride. I sat on the left, where EVERY Dino winds up....Urg.

  • That's the most unnerving seat. The seat on the far right is the loudest. I mean sound-barrier-breaking loud.

  • I am 6'2'' and weigh 275, and I'm not ashamed to admit that this ride scacred the bejeebers out of me. I got on it envisioning a relatively leisurely excursion. Wrong! Especially if you wind up in the first row, farthest to the right. That's precisely where the carnotaurus (or whatever it's called) makes its final lunge. Fortunately though, the photo was taken milliseconds before I commenced screaming like a woman, so I was able to salvage some of my dignity. Can't wait to ride it again!

  • HAHAHAHAHH!!!!!!!!!! thats really funny.

  • first time i rode it i was scared. been years sine ive been on it now i love it and i was 5 when i first rode it

  • this ride was very funny becuz i cudnt stop laufin at the ppl who sat with me lol

  • You know, most of the time...people don't like that. show a bit respect please.

    This ride looks awsome!

I wish that this rides comes in paris.

  • as you can tell, its very dark at points AND it's one hell of a bumpy ride.

  • wait, do u drop at the end of this?

  • yeah u do but is lil

  • yeah. it's from the top of the dinosaurs back (the one out front) to the ground.

  • i bet this ride would look so weird if it wasent dark lol you would actually see the track your on.

  • I always end up getting scared and closing my eyes at the end when the carnotaur attacks one last time before you get back to the present

  • at the end...i want to scream: "OH!!! SH*T!!!!" but due to having a civil tounge...yeah.

  • i like wave at the carnotauros with the camera every time lol

  • First time I rode it the carnotaurus made me jump out of my skin! But I rode it again about 5 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love that ride!!!!!!!!

  • on this ride, the left side (driver's seat) gets all of the action!
